Suggestion and Verification of Architecture for Collecting Fine Dust using Drone (미세먼지 수집 드론의 구조 제안 및 검증)

  • Due to the rapidly increasing number of cars and power generation, environmental pollution caused by fine dust is becoming a serious social problem. Especially fine dust becomes an important issue nowadays. More than 50 countries are suffering from fine dust above the recommended level, and each affected country is studying the measures to reduce fine dust and minimize its occurrence. However, at present, it is difficult to collect fine dust data from the various points with fixed fine dust acquisition drones, and also to collect accurate data due to the influence of rotating blades even in the existing drone method. In this paper, we propose a method for collecting fine dust using drones and a sensing parts architecture and show its effectiveness.

  • The drone delivery service as a new important business is emerging worldwide. American DHL parcel service is already running the delivery business using drones, and the Google, Amazon, and china's Alibaba, Baidu are also preparing for the same business. However, there are some problems in security and safety since the heavy parcels flies over the people walking down streets, so many things must be considered. The problems can be solved by communicating among drones to avoid collision. Therefore, the efficient network performance is essential, and to resolve the problem, in this paper, an efficient routing protocol is suggested by the Opnet simulator. The drone intercommunication network of MANET is designed and simulated for the efficient routing protocol.

A Study on the Measurement of the Beam Pattern of Array Antenna for VHF Radar using Active Beam Pattern Measuring Device and Drone (능동 빔패턴 측정장치 및 드론을 활용한 초단파레이다용 배열안테나의 빔패턴 측정에 대한 연구)

  • This study describes the technique of the beam pattern measurement of array antenna for VHF band radar using drone and active beam pattern measuring device. There is no anechoic chamber for measuring the beam pattern of a large size antenna in the country. In this study, to test the antenna beam pattern characteristics of the developed VHF band radar, the antenna beam pattern characteristics were tested by Drone mounting an Active Beam Pattern Measuring Device. By comparing the results of the pre-simulation analysis with the measured results for the antenna, we could confirm that the beamwidth and side-lobe characteristics are satisfactory. Through the antenna beam pattern measurement technology using Drone and Active Beam Pattern Measuring Device, the beam pattern measurement technology of array antenna of low frequency band and large antenna for low band radar will be used.

  • The changes of technology and the size of markets for unmaned aerial vehicle are getting bigger presently. Damage happens because of user's poor operation since accesses to the drones are easy. To minimize the damage, drone's stabilized flight skills are required, and controlling the motor to balanced speed is also needed. Thus, the essay shows that we use Arduino as a main control device for controlling a drone, and used acceleration sensor and gyro sensor for the drone stabilization. Also, we made it able to hover at a certain height by using a sonar sensor. We also controlled a drone by using an Android application, and made the drone hover stably at 0~2 meters.

  • Recently, there are many real life applications that uses drones. There are various applications such as the aerial shot with the drones for the broadcasting service or drone racing competition and so on. Specifically, they patrol for the traffic enforcement on a highway. The police department use the 'Spot Mobility' method which float the drones for 30 minute period. However, this method is inefficient for the wide area with small numbers of enforcement. Therefore, a wireless network system consists of drones to patrol on the highway systematically is required. In this paper, the most efficient routing protocol will be selected for the MANET drone network by applying various routing protocols. To accomplish this, the drone patrol network system with routing protocols are designed and simulated in OPNET simulator.

  • With the advent of the fourth industrial revolution era, the use of drone has been progressing rapidly in various fields. Now the drones will be used extensively in the area of investigation. Until now the criminal photographs stayed in 2D digital images, it would be possible to reproduce not only 3D images but also make a crime scene with 3D printer. Firstly, the video images taken by the investigation agency using the drones are digital image evidence, and the requirements for securing the evidence capability are not different from the conditions for obtaining the proof of digital evidence. However, when the drones become a new area of scientific investigation, it is essential to systematize the authenticity of the images taken by the drones so that they can be used as evidence. In this paper, I propose a method to secure the evidence capability of digital images taken by drone.

  • The purpose of this study is to discover a drone utilization model tailored to local characteristics, propose directions for building a drone demonstration city based on demand surveys for drone activation, and suggest ways to utilize and support a drone application system. First, according to the survey results, there was a high understanding of and necessity for drone demonstration projects, particularly in addressing urban issues, which were deemed to have a significant impact. Second, based on the analysis of priorities and short- and long-term approaches, disaster-related tasks were evaluated as a priority, requiring an approach through medium- to long-term strategies. Third, it was noted that budgetary considerations emerged as the most critical issue during project implementation. Practitioners and experts expressed willingness to actively introduce drone-based technologies into their work when budget and technology were ready. Budgetary constraints were identified as the most significant obstacle to proper implementation, emphasizing the need for resolution. Fourth, the necessity of demand surveys during project development was identified in certain areas. Demand surveys were deemed essential for drone-based demonstration city construction, and a survey indicated that public leadership in this regard was also necessary. Fifth, concerning approaches in specific areas, the field of safety and disaster management was highlighted as the most crucial for application.

  • Recently, the drone's equipment development and software technology have dramatically improved. With such developments, the applicability is increasing in various fields that require rapid geospatial information, and in practice, regulations and systems have been established, and the fields in use are increasing. Also, in Korea, corporations and public institutions are actually using and researching drones in fields such as aircraft development, communication technology development, construction site use, and surveying. However, there are no fields where drones are actually used in road construction sites. Therefore, in this study, to utilize drones that have been actively used in the civil engineering and construction fields for road construction, we investigated the current status of the Korea Highway Corporation's field drone use research and classified the possibility of drone introduction by road construction. Finally, a method of using drones at road construction sites was proposed to prepare a method for using drones at road construction sites.

  • Drones, which are used in various fields, are vulnerable to various security threats such as physical deodorization attacks and information leakage attacks because they operate in an unmanned environment and use wireless communication with weak security. In particular, research is needed to prevent damages such as leakage of stored information and unauthorized use due to illegal drone deodorization. In this paper, we propose a context - aware drone control mechanism that protects stored internal information and prevents unauthorized use when the drones are illegally deactivated. We also demonstrated the feasibility of the proposed mechanism as a prototype implementation and experiment.

  • Recently, with the development of high-tech industry, the use of the drones in various aspects of daily life is rapidly advancing. With technical and functional advancements, drones have an advantage of being easy to be utilized in the areas of use according to various lifestyles. In addition, through the diversification of the drone service converged with image processing medium such as camera and CCTV, an automated security system that can replace humans is expected to be introduced. By designing these unmanned security technology, a new convergence security drone service techniques that can strengthen the previous drone application technology will be proposed. In the proposed techniques, a biometric authentication technology will be designed as additional authentication methods that can determine the safety incorporated with security by selecting the search and areas of an object focusing on the objects in the initial windows and search windows through OpenCV technology and CAM-Shift algorithm which are an object tracking algorithm. Through such, a highly efficient security drone convergence service model will be proposed for performing unmanned security by using the drones that can continuously increase the analysis of technology on the mobility and real-time image processing.
