A Design and Implementation of Dynamic Electronic Map Creation System for Mobile phone Map Service Using Raster Method (래스터 방식을 이용한 모바일 전화기용 지도 서비스를 위한 동적 전자 지도 생성 시스템 설계 및 구현)

  • In order to use the existing map data base in the mobile phone, the dynamic creation technique of the radio map which will be able to be converted into the raster image and transmitted was proposed. We transferred the client module functions such as the coordinate conversion, data compression and decoding to server, and made driving of JAVA browser in the mobile phone which has the restricted resources possible for the dynamic creation of the radio map. We made the radio electronic map service possible without map data base for the mobile phone use only by performing the general work of the map at the sever. And we guaranteed the client waiting time less then the limit time by performing the filtering work of the map at the server also. After we input the keyword at the user interface for searching the region or facility, and verified the performance of the proposed technique by confirming that the raster electronic map usable at the mobile phone was created dynamically.

  • The ultrasonic piezo motor is a new type motor that has an excellent performance and many useful features that electromagnetic motors do not have. But, it suffers from severe system non-linearities and parameter variations especially during speed control. Therefore, it is difficult to accomplish satisfactory control performance by using the conventional PID controller. In this paper, to achieve the precise control for linear type ultrasonic motor was analyzed as a function of response time and change with a driving time. Also, we propose controller that combines STEP controller and PD controller that have error of ${\mu}m$ about liner type ultrasonic motor.

  • A design and control method of DC/DC converter, which can control variable DC-link voltage to drive a fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV), is proposed in this study. Given that a fuel cell has low-voltage and high-current characteristics, the required voltage for operating motor must be output through the DC/DC boost converter in the system to drive an FCEV. The proposed converter can choose the output voltage of battery or fuel cell in consideration of the driving mode, as well as control DC-link voltage in accordance with the back electromotive force. The switching lag-time to prevent shortage of pulse-width modulation inverter arms makes distorted current waveform caused by voltage distortion. Through this control method, the proposed converter can reduce the output voltage distortion and current ripple of the inverter, thereby reducing the distorted torque. Simulations and experimental results are presented to verify the reliability of the proposed DC/DC converter.

A Study on the Vibration Analysis of a Deckhouse of Fishing Vessel (어선의 갑판실의 진동 해석법에 관한 연구)

  • For the deckhouse or superstructure, attention is directed to the reduction of vibration from a human susceptibility point of view. The two basic requirements for obtaining a low vibration level in the accommodation are to ensure that excitation forces from propeller and/or main engine are small and to avoid resonance excitation of the hull and superstructure. In recent years increased attention has been directed towards the problems of vibration and noise in deckhouse, which have caused major problems with regard to the environmental quality in the living quarters for crews. Accordingly, in this paper, the characteristic of the vibration of deckhouse of fishing boat, of which the length/height ratio is also relatively high, are studied systematically with regard to the shape and modelling of deckhouse based on finite element method of 1-dimensional, 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional model. This study is divided into 4-part. 1st part is the global deckhouse vibration, 2nd part is the local deckhouse vibration, 3rd part consists of the estimation for stiffness of foundational support and 4th part is the application to TUNA LONG LINER of 416 ton class. For the global vibration analysis, the severity of the vibration depends on the longitudinal shear and bending stiffness of the deckhouse, on the vertical deckhouse support(fore, aft and sides). However, even if the design is technically sound, vibration problems may arise due to vertical or longitudinal hull girder or afterbody resonances. Author applied the method of this study to the analysis of, deep-sea fishing vessel of G.T. 416 ton class with relatively low height and long deckhouse, and investigated the vibrational characteristic of the fishing vessel with earlier structural feature. According to this investigation, the vibration, response of above vessel was confirmed of which main hull and deckhouse behave as one body. It is at the bottom of vibrational trouble which a accommodation part of the fishing vessel is raised, that is the local vibration for side wall, fore-aft wall and deck plate of deckhouse rather than thief fect of fore-aft vibration of deckhouse for above fishing vessel. and the resonance of main hull, deckhouse and driving system such as the main engine, propeller in exciting source is mainly brought up as the trouble.

Effect of the Position of Azobenzene Moiety on the Light-Driven Anisotropic Actuating Behavior of Polyvinylalcohol Polymer Blend Films (아조벤젠 분자의 사슬 내 위치에 따른 고분자 블렌드 박막의 비등방성 광 변형에 관한 연구)

  • Structural changing materials which can induce the physical deformation of materials are interesting research topics with various potential applications. Particularly, light among many driving mechanisms is a non-contact energy source, hence the light-responsive system can be used where non-destructive, local irradiation, and remote control is needed. Here, a mainchain azobenzene polymer is synthesized and its physical and optical properties are observed and compared to that of a polymer having a light-responsive azobenzene moiety on its side chain. Further dispersion onto polyvinylalcohol hydrogel is made and its dual stability and actuation are observed upon UV-visible light irradiation. Extended azobenzene polymer blend films show an anisotropic light-actuation with non-polarized UV light at room temperature. This physical shape change is quite reversible and occurs at lower temperature than that of any other reported systems including liquid crystalline elastomers. It is successfully demonstrated that the simple physical azobenzene/polymer blending has a very good actuation compared to that of LCEs which need an elaborate chemical design and it can be further used in the areas requiring a dimensional shape change.

  • AWS (all wheel steering) is applied to improve the stability and the turning performance. Most automotive cars are mainly controlled by FWS (front wheel steering) system except some cars which are made to improve their stability by using AWS. Articulated vehicles with a pivoting joint for easy turn are difficult to make a sharp turn because of the long body and long wheelbase. Therefore applying AWS to the articulated vehicles is effective to reduce the turning radius. The AWS control method for the articulated vehicles is currently applied to only Phileas vehicles which were developed by APTS. The paper on the design of a controller to guide an articulated vehicle along the path was published but control algorithm for manual driving has not been reported. In the present paper, steering, characteristics of the Phileas vehicles have been analyzed and then new algorithm has been proposed. To verify the AWS algorithm, Commercial S/W, ADAMS was used for validity of the dynamic model and algorithm.

  • Cars that are currently available to the operator to ensure convenience and safety for electronics devices now on the market supply is developed. The current car black box of electronics service, parking, is to help when reversing. The black box is necessary at the time of the accident. After-market through a lot of these are advertised. However, these products are known only to the rear or the front of the picture, as well, at the time of driving, the accident and the front left and right lateral images of the boundary of the car can not be confirmed. Electronics devices on the market, but they can not give this problem solving. In this paper, we propose these to the algorithm-around view of the driver's operation of the vehicle after the car sideways, left and right of the room with integrated video Black Box is designed to provide.

  • Electronic of military vehicle that had relied on pure machinery system is ongoing. A large part of electronic of small-sized military vehicle has been already commercialized, which will expand to large-sized military vehicle field. Design of solenoid valve for automatic transmission is significantly important for stable driving performance of military vehicle. This research aims to develop simulation method which is capable of predicting performance of solenoid valve quantitatively according to its variation of ATF temperature. The research has been conducted in line with Maxwell, a magnetic field analysis program, and AMESim, a hydraulic analysis program. After simulation, it turned out to have been very similar to the test result in temperature range which excludes high temperature (over $120^{\circ}C$) and extremely low temperature (below $-20^{\circ}C$).

  • In this paper, we present the design of delta-sigma modulation-based class-D amplifier for driving headphones in portable audio applications. The presented class-D amplifier generates PWM(pulse width modulation) signals using a single-bit fourth-order high-performance delta-sigma modulator. To achieve a high SNR(signal-to-noise ratio) and ensure system stability, the locations of the modulator loop filter poles and zeros are optimized and thoroughly simulated. The test chip is fabricated using a standard $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS process. The active area of the chip is $1.6mm^2$. It operates for the signal bandwidth from 20Hz to 20kHz. The measured THD+N(total harmonic distortion plus noise) at the $32{\Omega}$ load terminal is less than 0.03% from a 3V power supply.

  • The objective of the research is to develop the automated vertical controllable pilot-type equipment for PHC piles. The motivation for the research is that inherent problems related to vertical control during pile driving. The paper explains the current vertical control methods and problems, design and manufacturing of the pilot-type automated equipment and its testing and discussions of the results.
