교정치료시기에 관한 연구 (ORTHODONTIC TREATMENT TIMING)

  • In the treatment of functional orthodontic problems, timing is not an issue. All orthodontists start as soon as the condition is recognized. However, there is an active dialogue concerning treatment timing for structure problems. The major points in contention center around the operator's ability is to control the growth of the facial bones and to maintain post-treatment tooth position through the maturation period (especially when this position was gained by techniques involving arch expansion or distal driving of posterior segments). Factors taken into account to determine the best time of orthodontic treatment include diagnosis, interception, growth rate, patient cooperation, eruptive state and treatment period. With those exceptions of all functional problems, mild dental discrepancies and skeletal deficiencies with a predictably excellent growth potential (early treatment), the period immediately following the eruption of the permanent second molars is the period during which most orthodontic treatment should be initiated. At this time the full volume of tooth substances is present, the individual growth pattern in well established, there are sufficient teeth to receive nearly any type of appliances and the patient can easily tolerate the wearing of appliances.

AC-PDP의 방전지연 시간과 오방전 특성의 관계 (The Relationship Between the Lag Time of the Discharge and the Characteristics of Mis-Discharge in an AC-PDP)

  • As the temperature of the panel increases in AC-PDPs, the minimum driving voltage increases. Also, as the more the number of discharge increases in cells, the probability of the strong dark discharge in the reset period increases. In this study, we investigated the relationship between the lag time of the discharge and the mechanism of mis-discharges which are the black noise and bright noise. We conclude that the variation of time lag characterizes the properties of exo-electron emission from MgO. Thus, we found that the main factor of the mis-discharges is the rate of change of the electron emission ability from the MgO surface.

  • The role of suspension system in tracked vehicles cannot be overestimated because the driving and running conditions of such vehicles are very severe. It reduces the vibration and shock which are generated by road profile in running condition. As the tracked vehicle's running speed increases, more undesired vibrations can be generated by road profile particularly in the situation of field running.   • For electric traction using a large power converter, harmonic problem in the p-ower quality and regenerating energy in side of efficiency are important. Recently, by advance in power electronics technology, some countries are considering regenerative inverter from the points of view. when the electric tractions are stopped or driven through the falling slope way, it is very useful to supply surplus energy to the power source by regenerating system in the efficient side of energy and it is very economical. these regenerating energy are supported electrical equipment through DC line. In this research, the purposes are suppressing extra DC-line voltage and saving energy generated while electric traction is been driving on the falling slope way or reducing speed for railway using a 1500V DC-voltage. Besides, the accompanied defects of current distortion, low power factor and the voltage unbalance will be solved by developing the algorism of inverter having ability to compensate current harmonic.

  • In this paper, we propose the self-autonomous algorithm for mobile robot system. The proposed mobile robot system controlled by Personal Digital Assistant(PDA) can follow the target at regular intervals. The mobile robot can evaluate the distance between robot and target with ultrasonic sensors, transmits the distance to the PDA. The velocity and direction decided in PDA are transmitted to the mobile robot with wireless LAN communication. Considering the state, velocity-changing and distance-maintenance, of the mobile robot, driving velocity and direction are applied. For safety, the velocity of the mobile robot is changed step by step. As a result, we confirm the ability of following the target with proposed mobile robot.

  • During the ship's construction process, most high place workings have been carried out by human power, like welding, grinding and so on. Because of the ability to relieve human beings from these, the need of developing a hull-plate moving robot has been rising. This paper describes a hull-plate moving robot, using magnet modules as the adhesive method. Magnet modules maintain the magnetic force between hull-plate and magnets constantly. So that allows the robot to perform movements on the curved plate without the loss of adhesive force. The robot consists of driving motors, control system and magnet modules. The performance of the robot is verified on the curved plate.

Enhanced Coulomb Counting Method for State-of-Charge Estimation of Lithium-ion Batteries based on Peukert's Law and Coulombic Efficiency

  • Conventional battery state-of-charge (SoC) estimation methods either involve sophisticated models or consume considerable computational resource. This study constructs an enhanced coulomb counting method (Ah method) for the SoC estimation of lithium-ion batteries (LiBs) by expanding the Peukert equation for the discharging process and incorporating the Coulombic efficiency for the charging process. Both the rate- and temperature-dependence of battery capacity are encompassed. An SoC mapping approach is also devised for initial SoC determination and Ah method correction. The charge counting performance at different sampling frequencies is analyzed experimentally and theoretically. To achieve a favorable compromise between sampling frequency and accumulation accuracy, a frequency-adjustable current sampling solution is developed. Experiments under the augmented urban dynamometer driving schedule cycles at different temperatures are conducted on two LiBs of different chemistries. Results verify the effectiveness and generalization ability of the proposed SoC estimation method.

  • The objective of this paper is to develop the new robust and adaptive control system against external environments as applying the probabilistic recognition which is one of the inherent properties of immune system, ability of learning and memorization, and regulation theory of immune network to the system under engineering point of view. In this paper, HIA(Humoral Immune Algorithm) PID controller using Neural Network Identifier was proposed to drive the autonomous guided vehicle(AGV) more effectively. To verify the performance of the proposed HIA PID controller, some experiments for the control of steering and speed of that AGV are performed.

  • Nowadays, great attention has been shown to the question of ultrasonic linear motor for accomplishing the high positioning accuracy and high driving force in the semiconductor and optical industry. Ultrasonic linear motors have many advantages such as simple structure, quick response, ability to maintain position without energy consumption, and electromagnetic effect. And BLT has attracted attention to accomplish large vibration amplitude and large mechanical force. Authors designed and developed the new type of ultra sonic linear motor with multi support mechanism, achieved 75N of output force and 0.45m/s of velocity.
