Real-time Dangerous Driving Behavior Analysis Utilizing the Digital Tachograph and Smartphone

  • In this paper, we propose the assistance method to enable safe driving through analysis of dangerous driving behavior using real-time alarm by vehicle speed, azimuth data and smartphone. For this method, smartphone is receiving driving data from digital tachograph using communication. Safe driving habit is a very important issue to commercial vehicle because that driver's long time driving than other vehicle type driver. Existing methods are very inefficient to improve immediately dangerous driving habits during driving because proceed driving behavior analysis after the vehicle operation. We propose the new safe driving assistance method that can prevent traffic accidents by real-time and improve the driver's wrong driving habits through real-time dangerous driving behavior analysis and notification the result to the driver. We have confirmed that the method in this paper will help to improve driving habits and can be applied through the proposed method implementation and simulation experiment.

  • 본 논문에서는 디지털 운행기록장치를 활용하여 자동차 운전자에 대한 실시간 위험운전행동 분석 및 경고를 통한 운전습관 개선과 안전운전 지원이 가능한 방법을 제안한다. 대부분의 교통사고와 에코 드라이빙은 자동차 운전자의 운전습관과 밀접한 관련이 있으며 이러한 운전습관을 자동화된 방법으로 실시간 분석 및 경고로 잘못된 운전습관을 개선시킬 필요가 있다. 제안 방법에 대한 구현 및 실험을 통하여 본 논문에서 제안하는 방법으로 운전자의 위험운전행동에 대한 실시간 분석 및 경고를 해줌으로써 운전습관 개선 유도와 안전운전을 지원하여 에코 드라이빙에 실제로 도움이 될 수 있음을 증명하였다.

  • 본 논문은 급가속, 급 감속, 급제동, 급출발, 그리고 과속 등과 같은 여러 운행 이벤트 데이터는 운전자의 운행습관과 운전자의 사고위험성을 예측 또는 분석하는데 중요한 정보를 제공한다. 일반적인 자료의 분포는 정규분포, 로그정규분포, 감마분포 등을 이용하지만 운전자 운행습관을 나타내는 자료에서 사고위험성을 추정 할 수 있는 극단적인 부분에서는 언급한 분포로 적합하지 않은 경우가 발생한다. 특히 왜도가 발생하여 정규분포에 적합하지 않은 영역이 생겨난다. 본 논문에서는 이 영역에서 적합한 분포 함수와 사고를 유발하는 위험군을 분리 할 수 있고 운전자 운행 시 사전경고로 사고율을 줄 일수 있는 임계점을 분포함수의 quantile값과 군집분석 결과와 비교하여 제시하였다.

  • Since 2016 when the regulations related to vehicle structure and device modification were drastically revised, the car tuning market has been growing rapidly. Particularly, many drivers are showing interest in changing the interior and exterior according to their preference, or improving the specifications of their cars by changing the engine and powertrain, among others. Also, as the initial engine settings such as horse power and torque of the vehicle are made for stable driving of the vehicle, it is possible to change the engine performance, via Engine Control Unit (ECU) mapping, to the driver's preference. However, traditionally, ECU mapping could be only performed by professional car engineers and the settings were also decided by them. Therefore, this study proposed a system that collects data related to the driver's driving habits for a certain period and sends them to a cloud server in order to analyze them and recommend ECU mapping values. The traditional mapping method only aimed to improve the car's performance and, therefore, if the changes were not compatible with the driver's driving habits, could cause problems such as incomplete combustion or low fuel efficiency. However, the proposed system allows drivers to set legally permitted ECU mapping based on analysis of their driving habits, and, therefore, different drivers can set it differently according to the vehicle specifications and driving habits. As a result, the system can optimize the car performance by improving output, fuel efficiency, etc. within the range that is legally permitted.

교통안전진단 결과분석을 통한 교통사고 요인분석 - 사고자 요인을 중심으로 - (A Factor Analysis of Traffic Accidents Through Traffic Safety Diagnosis Results - Driver Factor -)

  • Traffic accidents occur due to complex influences of transportation companies, drivers, and road environment. This study found that education and surroundings for transportation companies, driving habits of drivers, and road safety facilities and accessory facilities were main factors that affected strongly traffic accidents. Also, it found that driving habits of drivers could affect accidents heavily more than two other factors. Road safety and accessory facilities were analysed that they affected traffic accidents independently with transportation companies and their own drivers. Therefore, in order to achieve a traffic accident prevention as our main target, those companies need to produce atmosphere that their own drivers can have safety awareness, and related institutions for the above target should run parallel with policy assistance and strict traffic enforcement. In the end, this study suggests that transportation companies should secure manpower wholly being charged with traffic safety and financial resources investing in it.

연료절감운전 패턴 연구 (A Study of Fuel Reduction Driving Pattern on Diesel Locomotives)

  • It is very often for the experienced diesel locomotive drivers to identify the proper replacing time for the fuel adjustment tube only based on their experience. Because of that, sometimes the locomotive's fuel is burned out due to the unnecessary torque. Or sometimes, the locomotive does not operate with its accelerating performance because the fuel is not supplied at the appropriate moment. Meanwhile, recent typical auto vehicles provide drivers with the average fuel efficiency and the instant fuel efficiency in real-time. By providing the real time display mentioned above, it is one of the good examples that those drivers, who had driven their cars not properly and used a lot of fuel with their bad driving habits, obtain the efficient driving pattern by continuous educating effect. Similarly, if the diesel locomotive provides the train driver with the optimal driving pattern within a certain driving section, it will be effective for fuel saving. It is possible to make the most effective driving pattern by performing the repeated trial running especially for the railway because the track's operating routes, its grades, and etc are relatively precise. This research analyzes the result data which was obtained by many times trial running on the identical section after equipping the fuel use measuring device to a certain test vehicle, and confirms the fuel saving effect depending on the driving pattern along the test section. At the same time, the research to establish the optimal driving pattern was progressed.

안전 운전을 위한 뇌파 감지를 통한 운전 습관 관리시스템의 설계 및 구현 (Design and Implementation of the Driving Habit Management System Using Brainwave Sensing for Safe Driving)

  • 뇌파 연구의 증진과 인터페이스 기술의 발전으로 뇌-컴퓨터 인터페이스 기술 또한 발전을 거듭하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 뇌-컴퓨터 인터페이스를 교통수단에 접목하여 운전 습관을 관리하는 시스템을 제안한다. 제안한 시스템은 뇌파 자극을 측정하는 뇌파 측정부와 전달된 뇌파정보를 분석하는 뇌파 분석부, 교통수단의 속도를 제어하는 속도 제어부, 운전자의 상태정보를 저장하는 메모리부, 경고를 발생하는 경보부로 구성되어 있다. 제안된 시스템을 통해 졸음 운전 방지 및 사용자의 운전 습관을 개선하는데 도움을 주며, 교통사고 예방에 도움이 된다.

  • 본 연구는 자동차에 장착된 일반적인 자동변속기의 문제점을 향상시키기 위해서 지능형 변속선도 결정 모듈을 제안한다. 전형적인 자동변속기의 변속선도는 운전자의 습관 및 성향이 반영되지 않기 때문에 운전자가 원하는 변속점을 제공하지 못한다. 기존의 변속선도는 불필요한 기어의 변화가 발생하고 연료효율에도 좋지 않다. 또한 가끔 킥-다운과 같은 현상이 발생한다. 그래서 본 논문에서는 개인적인 운전자의 운전 스타일을 고려한 변속선도를 결정하는 지능형 변속 제어 방법을 연구한다. 운전스타일은 주행 중인 자동차의 실제 데이터를 이용하여 운전자의 성향 및 운전 습관에 의해 판단된다. 이 모듈은 실제 자동차 데이터를 학습하기 위해 신경회로망을 사용한 계층적 구조로 구성된다. 제안된 지능형 변속선도 제 어 모듈은 각 운전자의 운전스타일에 따라 운전에 필요한 토크와 속도를 제공하여 운전자에게 적합한 변속점과 변속시간을 제공할 수 있다.

  • 자율주행차량을 신뢰하고 탑승하도록 하기 위해서 자율주행 차량에 탑승하는 이용자를 위한 고민이 필요해지고 있다. 자율주행 차량 주행 행태에 대한 선호도를 평가하여 이용자의 자율주행차량 탑승 만족도를 높이는 주행행태를 찾아내고자 한다. 실험환경은 드라이빙 시뮬레이터에 공격적인 운전과 방어적인 운전 두 가지 자율주행 성향을 구현하고, 체험할 수 있도록 하였다. 탑승시 생체데이터를 수집하고, 탑승 전·후 설문조사를 실시하였다. 운전 습관에 따라 2그룹으로 분류하고, 수집한 생체데이터와 비교 분석하였다. 공격적인 성향의 운전자와 조심운전 성향의 운전자 모두 자율주행차량의 조심운전 주행행태를 선호하였다.

마산지역 시내버스 운전자의 건강관련 생활습관과 혈액의 생화학적 지표와의 상호관련성 분석 (An Analysis of the Correlation between Health-related Habits and the Biochemical Characteristics of the Blood of Bus Drivers in the Masan Area)

  • This study investigated the correlation between health-related habits and the biochemical characteristics of the blood of Korean bus drivers. A total of 178 bus drivers working in the Masan area participated in this study. The general characteristics and health-related habits of the subjects were surveyed using a serf-administered questionnaire. The biochemical date were collected from regular health check-ups done through their workshop health insurance company in lune, 1999. The results were as follows : The average age of the subjects was 38 years, and 44.2% had a driving career of between 10 and 19 years. About 90% of the subjects ate irregularly, and 36% ate. health floods. Their rates of drinking, smoking and exercise were 74.6%, 83.6% and 70.8%, respectively. Their frequency of drinking was significantly increased as the length of their driving career increased (p < 0.001). Their levels of total serum cholesterol, in relation to the length of their driving career was significantly higher in the over 20 year group than in the below 10 year group (p < 0.05). Their systolic blood pressures, according to age, were significantly higher in the 51 to 60 age group than in the other groups (p < 0.05). Their total um cholesterol levels signiscantly increased with increasing age (p < 0.001). Their diastolic blood pressures (p < 0.001) and blood glucose levels (p < 0.05) were significantly higher among the subjects who drinking alcohol almost everyday, than among other subjects. Their systolic blood pressures who significantly increased with increasing frequency of their drinking (p < 0.001). The systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure were positively related to age, the amount of drinking, the frequency of drinking and the obesity index, and negatively related to exercise and the duration of exercise. The hemoglobin was positively related to age, preference for a meat diet and the obesity index. The blood glucose was positively related to the amount of drinking, and the total serum cholesterol was positively related to age, length of driving career, period of smoking and the obesity index. The results of this study indicated that bus drivers need regular exercise, moderation of their drinking and smoking, and control of their body weights so as to prevent chronic diseases.
