Modeling and Verification of Eco-Driving Evaluation

  • Traditional ecological driving (Eco-Driving) evaluations often rely on mathematical models that predominantly offer subjective insights, which limits their application in real-world scenarios. This study develops a robust, data-driven Eco-Driving evaluation model by integrating dynamic and distributed multi-source data, including vehicle performance, road conditions, and the driving environment. The model employs a combination weighting method alongside K-means clustering to facilitate a nuanced comparative analysis of Eco-Driving behaviors across vehicles with identical energy consumption profiles. Extensive data validation confirms that the proposed model is capable of assessing Eco-Driving practices across diverse vehicles, roads, and environmental conditions, thereby ensuring more objective, comprehensive, and equitable results.

  • 독립형 자율주행 기술의 한계를 극복하기 위해 협력형 자율주행 기술이 필요하다. 협력형 자율주행 시스템은 자율주행 차량이 다른 차량 또는 인프라와 협력함으로써 주행의 효율성과 안전성을 높이는 기술을 의미한다. 본 연구에서는 협력형 자율주행 기술 개발을 위해 필요한 기술적 요소를 알아보고, 국내·외 연구 동향을 조사하였다. 미국, 유럽, 일본, 국내에서 수행된 협력형 자율주행 관련 서비스, 통신 기술, 표준 개발 등의 사례 검토를 통해 국가별 연구의 특성을 비교하였다. 연구 동향 검토를 통해 향후 협력형 자율주행 기술 개발을 위한 시사점을 도출하고, 자율주행차량을 지원하기 위한 인프라 가이던스의 필요성을 제시하였다.

  • '2016 DAVOS 세계경제포럼에서 Klaus Schwab이 "4차 산업혁명"을 처음으로 언급한 이래, 기존 산업이 ICT와 접목하여 새로운 신산업을 창출해내는 현상들이 국내외에서 뜨겁게 논의되고 있다. 4차 산업혁명은 다른말로 'Indutsrie 4.0'으로 표현되기도 한다. 자동차 산업도 마찬가지의 방향으로 진화하고 있다. 자동차가 세상에 나타난 이래 자동차 관련 기술은끊임없이 진화해오고 있는데, 독일 정부가 표방하듯 Industry 4.0 시대의자동차는 운전보조기능의 단계를 넘어 인공지능(AI)을 탑재하여 동적 주행성능의 대부분을 사람 운전자가 아닌 시스템이 관장하는 완전자율주행의 단계로 발전할 것으로 예상된다. 각국은 나름대로의 방식과 체계로 주행자동화(driving automation) 기술을 발전시켜나가고 있다. 현행 자동차관리법령상 '자율주행자동차' 개념은 다양한 단계의 자동화 자동차를 모두담아낼 수 없는 문제점이 있으므로 '자동화 자동차'로 개념설정을 변경하는 것이 타당하다. 아울러 자동화 자동차의 임시운행허가권의 소재도 국토교통부장관이 독점하는 것 보다는 시 도지사에게도 개방하여 지방화시대에 부합한 본래의 자동차 규제제도로 회귀하는 것이 필요하다고 생각한다. 또한 향후 자동화 자동차가 레벨3 이상의 단계로 진화하여 상용화하는 단계에서는 자동차안전기준도 독자적으로 마련되어야 할 것인바, 현행 임시운행허가시의 안전운행요건을 참조하여 레벨3 이상의 자동화자동차를 등록할 때 갖추어야 하는 안전기준을 정립하여 운용하여야 할것이다. 그밖에 레벨3 이상의 단계에서 시스템우선모드에서 운행되는 자동화 자동차라고 하더라도 그 운전자나 승객은 유사시에 운전개입을 하여 운행지배를 하여야 하기 때문에 기본적으로 운전면허의 소지자일 것을 요한다고 본다. 기타 자동화 자동차가 원활하게 운행되기 위해 필요한정보보호체계의 마련과 인공지능법제의 완비 및 자동화기술의 표준화 등은 향후 지속적으로 자동화 자동차 관련 기술이 발전함에 있어서 병행하여 정비하여야 할 중요한 법제영역이다.

A study on autonomy level classification for self-propelled agricultural machines

  • In the field of on-road motor vehicles, the level for autonomous driving technology is defined according to J3016, proposed by Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) International. However, in the field of agricultural machinery, different standards are applied by country and manufacturer, without a standardized classification for autonomous driving technology which makes it difficult to clearly define and accurately evaluate the autonomous driving technology, for agricultural machinery. In this study, a method to classify the autonomy levels for autonomous agricultural machinery (ALAAM) is proposed by modifying the SAE International J3016 to better characterize various agricultural operations such as tillage, spraying and harvesting. The ALAAM was classified into 6 levels from 0 (manual) to 5 (full automation) depending on the status of operator and autonomous system interventions for each item related to the automation of agricultural tasks such as straight-curve path driving, path-implement operation, operation-environmental awareness, error response, and task area planning. The core of the ALAAM classification is based on the relative roles between the operator and autonomous system for the automation of agricultural machines. The proposed ALAAM is expected to promote the establishment of a standard to classify the autonomous driving levels of self-propelled agricultural machinery.

EMI Noise Source Reduction of Single-Ended Isolated Converters Using Secondary Resonance Technique

  • Aiming at the problems of large dv/dt and di/dt in traditional single-ended converters and high electromagnetic interference (EMI) noise levels, a single-ended isolated converter using the secondary resonance technique is proposed in this paper. In the proposed converter, the voltage stress of the main power switch can be reduced and the voltage across the output diode is clamped to the output voltage when compared to the conventional flyback converter. In addition, the peak current stress through the main power switch can be decreased and zero current switching (ZCS) of the output diode can be achieved through the resonance technique. Moreover, the EMI noise coupling path and an equivalent model of the proposed converter topology are presented through the operational principle of the proposed converter. Analysis results indicate that the common mode (CM) EMI noise and the differential mode (DM) EMI noise of such a converter are deduced since the frequency spectra of the equivalent controlled voltage sources and controlled current source are decreased when compared with the traditional flyback converter. Furthermore, appropriate parameter selection of the resonant circuit network can increase the equivalent impedance in the EMI coupling path in the low frequency range, which further reduces the common mode interference. Finally, a simulation model and a 60W experimental prototype of the proposed converter are built and tested. Experimental results verify the theoretical analysis.

  • The runner-valve is an effective solution for the filling balance of the multi cavity molds. Automation of the runner-valve system is necessary for more efficient and accurate control of the filing balance. We designed an automatic runner-valve actuator for the automation and characterized the actuator by experiment. We obtained a linear relationship between motor-driving time and the height of the runner-valve. However, the motor-driving times for upward and downward directions were different due to the frictional characteristics of the actuators. Also we obtained the motor-driving times for backlashes of the 4 actuators. The results were used to formulate the relationship between the resin-arrival time and the flow rate change of the runner-valve with the theoretical equation that was derived in the previous research.

  • 콘크리트 도로 표면절삭 작업은 장비 조작자의 숙련도에 따라서 작업의 완성도 및 품질, 작업 생산성에 크게 영향을 준다. 콘크리트 표면절삭 작업을 자동화하기 위해서는 시스템 하드웨어 구축과 지원 소프트웨어의 개발 등이 필요하다. 표면 절삭 프로세스를 자동화 하기 위해서 가장 먼저 선행 되어야 할 부분은 진로계획의 수립이다. 장비의 진로계획을 통하여 기존 시스템이 가지고 있는 진로계획에 대한 취약점을 보완하며, 보다 효율적인 생산성을 가진 자동화 시스템을 구축 하도록 한다. 본 연구는 CAD를 기반으로 한 AUTO-Lisp를 이용하여 표면절삭 작업의 최적 경로계획을 결정하고 MMI 시스템 상에 적용하여 실시간으로 진행 경로 보정을 위한 진로 계획의 데이터 갱신을 통해서 보다 효율적인 생산성과 품질을 가진 표면절삭 작업을 하는데 목적이 있다. 그리고 도로 표면절삭 장비의 자율주행 진로계획 수립을 위한 AUTO-Lisp 파일 및 MMI 시스템과의 연계, 계획된 경로를 적용한 표면절삭 장비와 MMI 시스템을 직접 현장에서 테스트하여 실제 표면절삭 작업의 자동화 구현 및 절삭작업의 효율성을 높일 수 있는 방안을 제시하였고, 표면절삭 작업의 최적진로를 결정함으로써 경제성 있는 절삭작업을 수행 할 수 있다.

프레스 단동로봇의 개발 (A Development of Single Action Press Robot)

  • A single action press robot, which consists of a driving unit, rotator, up-down feed base and feed bar, is developed and applied for the press automation. The driving unit is made up with a face cam and blade cam, which have a phase angle. The feeding system consists of a double speed-up apparatus and linear motion guides, and has a fast motion characteristics. A horizontal feeding speed of the feed bar is increased twice by the double speed-up apparatus. The driving mechanism could be simplified due to the speed-up of the feeding unit.

항공 및 지상 동시 정찰이 가능한 융합형 정찰로봇 설계 (Design of Fusion Platform Robot for Ground and Aerial Reconnaissance)

  • This paper describes the conceptual platform design of a dual-capable robot for both driving on the ground and flying in the air. The dual-capable robot can move over all types of terrain for both ground and aerial reconnaissance. The main design problem of the robot is how to make a wheel for both driving and flying. The proposed key design concept is a hubless driving wheel that contains a propeller inside for flying in the air. The primary design parameters and initial specifications were confirmed through an examination of the conceptual design, and functional tests were then conducted using a real prototype robot for driving and flying modes. The test results show the feasibility of the proposed design concept.

Technology Acceptance Modeling based on User Experience for Autonomous Vehicles

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to precede the acceptance study based on automation steps and user experience that was lacked in the past study on the core technology of autonomous vehicle, ADAS. The first objective was to construct the acceptance model of ADAS technology that is the core technology, and draw factors that affect behavioral intention through user experience-based evaluation by applying driving simulator. The second one was to see the change of factors on automation step of autonomous vehicle through the UX/UA score. Background: The number of vehicles with the introduction of ADAS is increasing, and it caused change of interaction between vehicle and driver as automation is being developed on the particular drive factor. For this reason, it is becoming important to study the technology acceptance on how driver can actively accept giving up some parts of automated drive operation and handing over the authority to vehicle. Method: We organized the study model and items through literature investigation and the scenario according to the 4 stages of automation of autonomous vehicle, and preceded acceptance assessment using driving simulator. Total 68 men and woman were participated in this experiment. Results: We drew results of Performance Expectancy (PE), Social Influence (SI), Perceived Safety (PS), Anxiety (AX), Trust (T) and Affective Satisfaction (AS) as the factors that affect Behavioral Intention (BI). Also the drawn factors shows that UX/UA score has a significant difference statistically according to the automation steps of autonomous vehicle, and UX/UA tends to move up until the stage 2 of automation, and at stage 3 it goes down to the lowest level, and it increases a little or stays steady at stage 4. Conclusion and Application: First, we presented the acceptance model of ADAS that is the core technology of autonomous vehicle, and it could be the basis of the future acceptance study of the ADAS technology as it verifies through user experience-based assessment using driving simulator. Second, it could be helpful to the appropriate ADAS development in the future as drawing the change of factors and predicting the acceptance level according to the automation stages of autonomous vehicle through UX/UA score, and it could also grasp and avoid the problem that affect the acceptance level. It is possible to use these study results as tools to test validity of function before ADAS offering company launches the products. Also it will help to prevent the problems that could be caused when applying the autonomous vehicle technology, and to establish technology that is easily acceptable for drivers, so it will improve safety and convenience of drivers.
