얼굴 특징점 기반의 졸음운전 감지 알고리즘 (Driver Drowsiness Detection Algorithm based on Facial Features)

  • Drowsy driving is a significant factor in traffic accidents, so driver drowsiness detection system based on computer vision for convenience and safety has been actively studied. However, it is difficult to accurately detect the driver drowsiness in complex background and environmental change. In this paper, it proposed the driver drowsiness detection algorithm to determine whether the driver is drowsy through the measurement standard of a yawn, eyes drowsy status, and nod based on facial features. The proposed algorithm detect the driver drowsiness in the complex background, and it is robust to changes in the environment. The algorithm can be applied in real time because of the processing speed faster. Throughout the experiment, we confirmed that the algorithm reliably detected driver drowsiness. The processing speed of the proposed algorithm is about 0.084ms. Also, the proposed algorithm can achieve an average detection rate of 98.48% and 97.37% for a yawn, drowsy eyes, and nod in the daytime and nighttime.

  • 첨단 운전자 지원 시스템(ADAS)은 차량 기술 분야에서 활발한 연구가 이루어지고 있는 기술이다. ADAS 기술은 직접적으로 차량을 제어하는 기술과 간접적으로 운전자에게 편의를 제공하는 기술로 나뉜다. 본 논문에서는 야간 도로 영상을 보정하여 운전자에게 시각적 편의를 제공하는 시스템을 제안한다. 제안하는 시스템은 전방 블랙박스 카메라로부터 촬영된 도로 영상을 입력받는다. 입력된 영상은 가로 축을 따라 세 부분으로 분할된 뒤 일괄적으로 이미지 변환 모듈을 통해 각각 낮 영상으로 변환된다. 변환된 영상은 다시 결합된 뒤 운전자에게 제공되어 시각적 편의를 제공한다. 본 논문의 실험 결과를 통해 제안한 시스템이 기존의 밝기 변환 알고리즘과 비교하여 우수한 성능을 보임을 입증한다.

  • Future vehicle must be both driver-friendly and able to adapt to changes in the road's conditions. The system is needed to adapt to both the driver and the circumstance for maximum convenience and safety. In order to solve these problems, this paper proposes an algorithm for developing smart vehicles. In this paper, it is simulated to compare the performance of a normal car with that of the algorithm-implemented vehicle in a potential accident. Through the computer simulation, it proved that the algorithm-implemented vehicle automatically adjusted the mirrors and seat for the maximum comfort and driver's awareness of the circumstance.

  • This study presents a clutch-by-wire system for automotive which can be utilized on a vehicle with a manual transmission real time while the vehicle is in motion. The system consists of air valve, spring, oil pressure control valve, oil pressure cylinder, switch, etc. In this study, commercial vehicle was studied on improvement of no clutch pedal system. Therefore the results obtained effective driveability, gear shiftability, convenience for driver.

  • 최근 차량을 운전하는 성별과 연령대와 차종이 다양해짐에 따라 초보 운전자나 운전 약자들은 자동차의 폭이나 길이에 대한 감각이 미숙하고 자동차의 운동 특성을 이해하기 어렵게 되었다. 이러한 문제점을 보완하기 위해 후방 센서 및 카메라 사용이 증가되고 있고, 운전자의 주차 편의성을 향상시키는 주차 보조 시스템들이 개발되고 있다. 이에 따라 차종에 따른 조향각 차이를 반영하고 거리오차를 쉽게 보정할 수 있는 주차 가이드 시스템이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 기존의 애커먼장토식을 보완하여 후진 시 회전 반경 공식을 제안하고, 핸들 조향각 센서를 통해 도출한 핸들 조향 값을 제안하는 공식에 대입하여 보다 더 정확한 주차 가이드라인 생성 알고리즘을 개발하고자 한다.

A Study on the Modeling of Transient Response in Automated Manual Transmission for Hybrid Trucks

  • Modern transmission technologies such as automated manual transmission(AMT) and dual clutch transmission(DCT) are interested to all manufactures due to their fuel efficiency and driver's convenience, especially in a hybrid system. AMT has advantages in that they have a high efficiency of manual transmissions(MT) and offer operation convenience similar to automatic transmissions(AT), but it has some disadvantages in that they have torque gap during gear shift and shift time. To reduce disadvantages, it is necessary to evaluate errors and characteristics as a developing simulation model before experimental verification. The purpose of this study is to develop virtual components and simulate the transient response of AMT. A dynamic AMT model and a control logic for an integrated vehicle model have been developed using Matlab/Simulink as a simulation platform. In this paper, the clutch model to describe the stick-slip transition mode and the transmission model to describe the neutral gear shifting is introduced and compared with each other.

고령자 승/하강 편의장치에 대한 효과 검증 및 개선방향 연구 (Ergonomic Evaluation of Convenient Appliances for Elderly Driver's Ingress/Egress)

  • The objective of this paper is to study the usability of the ingress/egress of elderly people, and analyze the physiological workload electromyography (EMG). We investigated the factors of discomfort while the elderly people are using the ingress/egress. Experiments were performed using a seating buck with 22 elderly participants (over 65 years old). The results showed that different muscles are activated during ingress and egress. A system called "easy access" was found which helps to access easily when a driver gets into a car. The current easy access was compared a newly proposed one. It was found that elderly people use less muscle during in/egress in the new easy access system.

  • In recent years, the technology for autonomous driving has been advancing rapidly, ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) functions, which improve driver convenience and safety performance, are mostly equipped in recently released vehicles and range from level 0 to level 2 in autonomous driving technology. Among the various functions of ADAS, AEBS (Autonomous Emergency Braking System), which analyzes traffic accidents, is the most closely related to the vehicle's braking. This study developed a simulation technique for reproducing accidents related to AEBS based on real vehicle experimental data, and it was applied to the analysis of actual ADAS vehicle accidents to identify the causes of accidents.

사용자 편의성과 시스템 효율성을 지원하는 대리운전 시스템 (A proxy driving system supporting user convenience and system efficiency)

  • 본 논문에서는 스마트폰을 활용하여 고객에게는 편리한 대리운전 신청 기능을, 대리기사에게는 고객의 위치정보를 제공하여 신속한 서비스를 제공할 수 있는 3-tier 구조의 대리운전 시스템을 설계하고 구현하였다. 구현된 대리운전 시스템은 기존의 전화신청 방식과 스마트폰을 활용한 온라인 주문 방식을 모두 지원하며, 시스템 성능 분석을 통해 온라인 주문 비율이 높을수록 대리운전 접수와 처리의 자동화를 통해 콜센터 상담원의 업무량 감소와 대리운전 신청 처리시간 단축 효과를 제공함을 확인하였다. 대리운전 업체 입장에서는 구현된 시스템을 활용하여 상담원의 증원을 최소화하고 서비스 품질을 개선하여 고객 만족도를 향상시키고 비용 절감과 시장 점유율 확대 효과도 거둘 수 있다.

  • Autonomous driving is no longer atechnology of the future since the development of autonomous vehicles has now been realized, and many technologies have already been developed for the convenience of drivers. For example, autonomous vehicles are one of the most important drive assistant systems. Among these many drive assistant systems, Cruise Control Systems are now a typical technology. This system constantly maintains a vehicle's speed and distance from a vehicle in front by using Radar or LiDAR sensors in real time. Cruise Control Systems do not only serve their original role, but also fulfill another role as a 'Driving Safety' measure as they can detect a situation that a driver did not predict and can intervene by assuming a vehicle's longitude control. However, these systems have the limitation of only focusing on driver safety. Therefore, in this paper, an Intelligent Cruise Control System that utilizes the path planning method and GIS is proposed to overcome some existing limitations.
