  • This paper describes a research work on the development of computer-aided design system far the deep drawing & ironing of high pressure gas cylinder. An approach to the design system is based on the knowledge-based rules. Knowledge for the system is formulated from plasticity theories, handbook, experimental results and the empirical knowledge of field experts. This system has been written in AutoLISP on the AutoCAD Rl4.0 using personal computer. This system is composed of three modules which are input. process design and drawing.

  • A computer-aided process planning system for rotationally symmetric deep drawing products has been developed. The application for non-axisymmetric components, however, has been reported yet. Therefore, this study investigates process sequence design in deep drawing process and constructs a computer-aided process planning system for non-axisymmetric motor frame products with elliptical shape. The system developed consists of three modules. The first one os a 3-dimensional modeling module to calculate surface area for non-axisymmetric products. The second one is a blank design module that creates an oval-shaped blank with the identical surface area. The third one is a process planning module based on production rules that play the best important roles in an expert system for manufacturing. The production rules are generated and upgraded by interviewing with field engineers. Especially, drawing coefficient, punch and die radii are considered as main design parameters. The constructed system for elliptical deep drawing products would be very useful to reduce lead time and improve accuracy for production.

  • Today, the development of digitized information media and info-communications are bringing many changes. Due to the development of IT thechnology, we can learn wherever, whenever, regardless of time and place. Machine drawing subject is a very important in mechanical engineering course, but it's studyed only basic theory in a short period, average 1~2weeks. So that, students think that the mechanical drawing is of minor importance. Such ideas make them difficult to impove sense of space in isometric drawing and drawing skill. Therefore, in this paper, augmented reality-based contents through the system, Mechanical Drawing of education to meet the effectiveness and satisfaction, student learning can be spontaneously it was construct self-system. And, Theoretical part of the Mechanical Drawing is proposed ensure more efficient and easier training. In this paper, we were test operation for user effectualness of proposed service at Korea Polytechnics Colleges a industrial facilities management in Daegu. Target user are 66 students, and The students were divided into experimental group and comparison group. Experimental results, experimental group was able to do systematically experience many Projection Drawing and Pictorial Drawing in short schooltime. And, The test operation results showed that have the possibility to meet education effectiveness and user satisfaction in this augmented reality-based contents system.

건설CALS/EC 지원을 위한 수자원 분야 전자도면 표준체계에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Standard of CAD Drawing in the Water Resources Parts to Support Construction CALS/EC)

  • 건설산업의 생산성 향상 및 건설사업관리의 효율성 제고를 위해 국가차원에서의 건설 CALS/EC 표준을 개발한바 수자원 분야에서도 국가 전자도면 작성기준에 준한 표준체계의 개발이 필요한 시기이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 국가 건설CALS/EC를 지원하기 위한 수자원분야 전자도면정보의 표준체계 개발전략을 수립하였다. 이를 위해, 수자원분야 공공기관의 건설사업관리시스템, 건설유지관리시스템, 도면작성기준서 등 건설관련 분야의 도면정보 표준, 국내 전자도면 작성표준과 ISO, 미국 NCS, 일본표준에서 포함하고 있는 도면표준을 분석하였다. 그 결과, 건설CALS/EC 지원을 위한 수자원분야 도면정보 표준의 기본적인 방향을 제안하였다. 실무적으로 표준체계를 적용하기 위해, 수자원 분야 공공기관의 현행 표준체계와도 연계되면서 국가 건설CALS/EC을 준수하도록 번호부여체계를 수립하였다. 따라서 본 연구는 건설CALS/EC을 지원하기 위한 수자원 분야의 기본적인 표준화 방향 및 번호부여 규칙을 제시하였다.

  • Design of drawing dies used in real industrial environments. It was designed by CAD software in many small & medium companies, but many products require various types, and sizes. Therefore, many companies are required to reduce process time and design mistakes. In this paper, for the automatic design of drawing dies, Design process considered that easy to team and use. which are used with Visual LISP/DCL language in a commercial CAD package, AutoCAD. It has adopted GUI in design system, and has applied DCL language. The system is based on the knowledge base system which is involved a lot of expert's know-how We have built database of design type and detail sizes. The automatic design system requires basic product type and sizes. Then the system accesses to the database and find out sizes by comparing with input parameters and generate drawing dies file.

디프 드로잉 제품의 블랭크 설계를 위한 표면적 계산 시스템의 적용 (Application of Surface Area Calculating System for Design of Blank Shape of Deep Drawing Product)

  • One of the most important steps to determine the blank shape and dimensions in deep drawing process is to calculate the surface area of the product. In general, the surface area of axisymmetric products is calculated by mathematical or graphical methods. However, in the case of non-axisymmetric products, it is difficult to calculate the exact surface area due to errors as separated components. Fortunately, it is possible for elliptical products to recognize the geometry of the product in the long side and short side by drafting in another two layers on AutoCAD software. So, in this study, a surface area calculating system is constructed for a design of blank shape of deep drawing products. This system consists of input geometry recognition module and three dimensional modeling module, respectively. The suitability of this system is verified by applying to a real deep drawing product. The system constructed in this study would be very useful to reduce lead time and cost for determining the blank shape and dimensions.

동시공학적인 도면정보관리시스템 개발 (The Development of the Drawing Information Management System Based on Concurrent Engineering)

  • As part of effort to reduce the process time from design to manufacture and delivery, the concept of CE(concurrent engineering) has been applied to design process. In this research, the drawing information management system (DIMS) was developed based on CE. The system can distribute electronic documents of drawing or work instruction parallel to all reviewers simultaneously and collect their annotations through network. Mark-up functions are used for annotations on the electronic documents. DIMS is a system which integrates drawing management, engineering BOM, CAD and raster drawings, etc. In this system, a SUN workstation is interfaced with PCs by LAN. CIMCAD-2D, Image Hunter, and ORACLE RDBMS are used for CAD drawings, raster drawings, and drawing information management, respectively. As an integration tool for all the information, LINKAGE is adopted.

A Study on a 3D Free-Hand using Ultrasonic Position System

  • Ultrasonic Positioning System (UPS) is an absolute positioning system using ultrasonic waves and has better performance in low price than the other absolute positioning systems. UPS can be further used as pseudo-satellites in the place where GPS is not available. This study aims to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of using UPS as a 3D free-hand writing or drawing tool. The process includes the design and testing of VPS as an efficient 3D free-hand writing or drawing tool in the air. The paper will further explain the system architecture of the UPS and how to use GPS as 3D free-hand writing or drawing tool. The efficiency and effectiveness of the system was confirmed by a computer software simulation. The software will further display the result of drawing or writing from the user by graphics. As a result, it is possible to implement UPS as a 3D free-hand writing or drawing tool in the air.

  • Construction industry, which is a composite industry being performed by organic combination of various tasks, gives birth to a various of information in the stages of planning, designing, and maintenance management. In particular, the drawing information is broad in the scope of use because it contains all information about buildings as wall as bid, materials, contracts. Therefore, the management of drawing information security is one of the most important factors, which determines the success of failure of business. The major findings and result of this study are as follows to control the distributed drawing information in the collaboration environment. 1) Analysis for function and practical use of DRM in the construction industry. 2) Proposal for applications of DRM that can secure IFC model-based drawing information in the collaboration environment. 3) Extraction from additional IFC entities to apply DRM to part 21 physical files 4) Analysis for functions which are necessary in DRM application prototype system and development of the system. 5) Development IFC model-based DRM prototype system.
