A Study on Developing GIS User Interface using OLE Automation (OLE 자동화를 이용한 GIS의 사용자 인터페이스 개발에 관한 연구)

  • This study proposes an easy method to develope user interfaces for the GIS using OLE automation. In the developing stage of user interface, the most important thing is to make the best use of effective windows programming techniques and component software supporting techniques. Using the OLE automation and Visual Basic programming, the study constructs an user interface as case study which performs map overlaying, referencing attribute tables, graph analysis, drawing up of thematic map.

  • As the automation system in manufacturing field works more efficientely, the automation scheme is applied to many areas. In order to reduce the entire manufacturing, cost the design process must be automated. However, design process is so complicated, it is very difficult to construct the design automation system. The axiomatic approach to design provides a general theoretical framework for all design fields, including mechanical design. The key concepts of axiomatic design are : the existence of domains, the characteristic vectors within the domains that can be decomposed into hierarchies through zigzagging between the domains, and the design axioms. Using this approach, the glass bulb design process was analyzed and the design automation software was developed. Through menu display, a user can select or furnish the design input and generate the drawing with ease.

A Framework for the Computer-aided Shop Drawing (철근 배근시공도 설계 자동화 프레임워크)

  • In this paper, we propose a CAD software framework to automatically generate a shop drawing. Shop drawing is to draw the geometric figures representing an arrangement of steel bars for a concrete building on its structural design, based on its construction specifications and the design rules, and its well-formed process lead to be automated. A key point of the design automation is to minimize the user interactions by automatically recognizing the design specifications and to finally generate the shape of the geometric figures. The graphic pipeline of the proposed framework consists of four stages; a specification DB, specification extraction, binding, and rendering. To effectively extract all specifications only for a figure from the DB and bind them to its shape, we use a hierarchical approach; the specifications are classified into three common, structural, and figure classes, and each attribute is extracted in design phases. Based on our framework, we implemented a specialized CAD for shop drawing using AutoCAD and could easily update it according to user's demands.

  • This paper describes an automation of architectural design processes and the direction between this automation and robotic system in building construction using the concept of the object-oriented design in architecture. The research starts from the premise that many computer-aided design systems are mostly aimed at serving as drawing tools which are used only after a design formal solution has already been established by the architect. If the computer is well applied to the architectural design process, many positive things such as standardization of design detail, increasing productivity and collaboration, minimizing construction costs etc. can be done. To support an early design solution in the computer-based environment, the proposed automation was developed and tested in a real building project, using the object-oriented design concept such as product model. This design automation gives various design alternatives from the early design phase to the final stage of design details, according to musical harmony. This paper shows how architectural design process can be automated and how the data of the applied architectural design can be integrated into product model environment, in relation to robotic system in building construction.

  • The purpose of the present study is to suggest composing the graph topology of sketch drawing element and the recognition of the shape pattern for the earthwork quantity calculation. The algorithm which can extract the topology element such as vertex, edge, face and establish the relation between each topology was developed. The model which can define earthwork graph and recognize the shape pattern of earthwork was presented. As a result of the study, the shape pattern of earthwork that can't be calculated by existing earthwork calculation program could be recognized as expanding this model. The earthwork shape recognition automation using the graph topology model can be applied to the automation for the earthwork quantity estimation.

  • A drawing technique which use only fine curves and dashed lines is widely adopted in banknotes and post stamps printing. Engraving of the curves and lines are traditionally performed by hand skill which provides low productivity in printing. As an effort for higher productivity and quality, a drawing automation method which can easily produce NC codes and drawings for a mechanical or chemical engraving is proposed. An initial work shows that it is possible to draw a portrait by contolling the width and length of predetermined fine lines according to the gray scale at the end points of each line. User interface functions of a commercial CAD system are heavily employed to exploit the presented method.

  • The automation of the machining and manufacturing process of press die is designed to shorten the working time by avoiding unnecessary repetitive works and to obtain subject articles with standard quality. Automation as used in this paper includes 3-D die design, machining center, wire-cut electrical discharge machining, and drawing works. This paper deals with research work on the automation of the machining and manufacturing process of the press die after 3-D die design using the Irp bracket for the control box sensor. The research was conducted under the same setting as that of die design.

  • Progressive dies are used for metal stamping during which multiple operations are performed in a sequence. Material is fed automatically from a coil into the press and advances from one die station to the next with each press stroke. Transfer dies are used in high-volume manufacturing for round, deep-drawn, and medium-to-large parts. Several different operations may be incorporated within a transfer die such as blanking, bending, piercing, trimming, and deep drawing. The main challenge in the current study is how to deform a seat cushion panel meeting the design specifications without any defects. A complex automation die manufacturing technology for the automotive seat cushion panel, mixing both semi-progressive die and transfer die for continuous production, was developed.

  • In this paper, we studied about AGVs modeling and material handling automation simulation using a virtual AGV. The proposed virtual AGV model that operates independently each other is based on a real AGV. Continuous straight-line and workstation model using vector drawing method that could easily, rapidly work system modeling are suggested. Centralized traffic control, which could collision avoidance in intersection and should not stop AGV as possible, and algorithm for detour routing which performs when another AGV is working in pre-routed path are proposed. The traffic control and the algorithm have been proved efficiently by simulation.

  • Burr is a projected part of finished workpiece. It is unavoidable and undesirable by-product of most metal cutting or shearing process. Also, it must be removed to improve the fit of machined parts, safety of workers, and the effectiveness of finishing operation. But deburring process Is one of manufacturing processes that have not been successfully automated, so deburring automation is strongly needed. This paper focused on developing a basic algorithm to find edge of workpiece and match two different image data for deburring automation which includes automatic recognition of parts, generation of deburring tool paths and edge/comer finding ability by analyzing the DXF drawing file which contains information of part geometry. As an algorithm fur corner finding, SUSAN method was chosen. It makes good performance in finding edge and corner in suitable time. And this paper suggested a simple algorithm to find matching point between CCD image and drawing file.
