2차원 각주의 공력특성 능동제어에 관한 수치해석 연구 (Numerical Study on the Active Control of Aerodynamic Properties of 2 - D Square Prism)

  • Active control of a flow field is essential to design efficient parts or elements relating to fluid machineries. The present study is aimed to suggest a new discretization technique of the convection term by renewing the non-conservative equation found in SOLA-VOF into a conservative one. And, as an application, flow characteristics are investigated by adjusting the backward ejecting velocity of 2-D square prism to control the aerodynamic properties. Strouhal number, drag and lift coefficient are compared in terms of various ejecting velocity. Among the results, the transient weak fluctuation of the lift and drag coefficient when the ejecting velocity equals channel inlet velocity is remarkably noticed.

  • Although the cone type venturi flow meter is superior to another differential pressure type flow meter in precision, the venturi is installed at the pipe as an L beam, so that the dynamic load due to drag force and flow-induced force is generated in the flow meter. In this paper we propose a methodology to evaluate this dynamic load directly by using stain-gages attached on the venturi and we discuss about the dynamic characteristics on the basis of flow-induced vibration theory.

터널진입시 비정상 유동특성이 고속전철의 공력성능에 미치는 영향에 관한 수치해석적 연구 (Numerical study on the effect of three-dimensional unsteady tunnel entry flow characteristics on the aerodynamic performance of high-speed train)

  • The three-dimensional unsteady compressible Euler equation solver with ALE, CFD code, PAM-FLOW based on FEM method has been applied to analyze the flow field around the high speed train which is entering into a channel. From the present study, the pressure and flow transients were calculated and analyzed. The generation of compression wave was observed ahead of train and the high pressure in the gap between the train and the tunnel was also found due to the blockage effects. It was found that abrupt fluctuation in pressure exists in the region from train nose to shoulder of train corresponding to 10% of total length of train during tunnel entry. Computed time history of aerodynamic forces of train during tunnel entry show that drag coefficient rapidly rises and saturates at about non-dimensional time 0.31. The total increase of drag coefficient before and after tunnel entry is about 1.1%. Transient profile of lift force shows similar pattern to drag coefficient except abrupt drop after saturation and lift force in the tunnel increases 0.08% more than that before tunnel entry.

  • The rattle noise is the most significant in many kinds of manual gearbox noises, which is generated at the idle stage of the engine operation. The main torsional vibration source of the driveline is the fluctuation of the engine torque. The gear rattle is impacts generating in the backlash of the free gear due to this torsional vibration. Many researchers reported the clutch torsional characteristic optimization method to reduce the idle gear rattle but only few of them give sufficient consideration to the system parameters like gear backlash, drag torque, system inertia, inertia distribution, engine torque fluctuation, idle engine rotation speed, and accessory load. This paper pays attention to the gear impact mechanism and system design parameters to reduce the idle gear rattle with computer simulation.

  • This paper reals with the structure and function of duel mass flywheel. Damping effects of engine rotational fluctuation are compared with those of pre-damper clutch and duel mass flywheel and driven- system behavior is estimated engine idle r.p.m. The reason of gear rattle noise is higher in summer than winter and driving longer period than initial driving is due to affection by drag torque changing. The above-contents can be used on the design of clutch system and transmission matching including engine and duel mass flywheel.

Numerical studies on non-shear and shear flows past a 5:1 rectangular cylinder

  • Large Eddy Simulations (LES) were carried out to investigate the aerodynamic characteristics of a rectangular cylinder with side ratio B/D=5 at Reynolds number Re=22,000 (based on cylinder thickness). Particular attention was devoted to the effects of velocity shear in the oncoming flow. Time-averaged and unsteady flow patterns around the cylinder were studied to enhance understanding of the effects of velocity shear. The simulation results showed that the Strouhal number has no significant variation with oncoming velocity shear, while the peak fluctuation frequency of the drag coefficient becomes identical to that of the lift coefficient with increase in velocity shear. The intermittently-reattached flow that features the aerodynamics of the 5:1 rectangular cylinder in non-shear flow becomes more stably reattached on the high-velocity side, and more stably separated on the low-velocity side. Both the mean and fluctuating drag coefficients increase slightly with increase in velocity shear. The mean and fluctuating lift and moment coefficients increase almost linearly with velocity shear. Lift force acts from the high-velocity side to the low-velocity side, which is similar to that of a circular cylinder but opposite to that of a square cylinder under the same oncoming shear flow.

멸치 기선권현망의 어장형성과 어황변동에 관하여 (In Relation to the Formation of Fishing Ground and the Fluctuation of Fishing Condition of Anchovy , Engranlis Japonica , Catched by Anchovy Drag Net)

  • 1970~1988년의 19개년간 한국 남해안에서 어획된 멸치의 어황조사 자료와 해황조사 자료를 토대로 멸치 기선권현망의 어장형성과 어황변동에 관하여 분석하였으며, 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 멸치 기선권현망어업의 어획량은 1970년에 21, 000M/T에 불과하였으나 그 후 크게 증가하여 최근에는 10만 M/T 내외의 어획량을 나타내고 있으며, 주대상어종은 멸치로서 이 한 종이 전체 어획물의 98% 이상을 차지하고 있다. 2. 멸치 기선권현망어업의 어기는 1월~3월, 7월~12월까지이며, 이 중 성어기는 7월~12월(최성어기: 8월)이고 한어기는 1~3월로 나타났으며, 어장은 여수해협으로부터 남해연안을 거쳐 방어진 사이의 해역에서 형성되나 계절별로 다소의 변동을 하고 있다. 3. 멸치의 춘계(4~6월) 산란군의 어획량(X)과 추계(7~12월) 어획량(Y)과의 사이에는 Y=62,246+1.30X, r=0.63의 관계식으로 나타나므로서 멸치의 춘계 산란군의 양과 추계 멸치 기선권현망의 어황사이에는 정의 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 4. 멸치 기선권현망어업의 어황 풍.흉은 해양구조와도 밀접한 관계가 있는 것으로 나타났는데, 멸치의 중심 어장인 남해 중동부 해역과 동해남부 및 남해서부해역의 수온이 심한 차이를 보이므로서(수온표준화지수 FI는 남해 중동부 해역이 -50~-150) 수괴의 분리 현상이 나타나거나 수온전선이 연안측 가까이에서 형성될 때 해황이 좋은 것으로 나타났으며, 또 최성어기인 8월에는 수온약층이 20~22$^{\circ}C$의 수온대를 중심으로 10m에서부터 20m 이내의 수층에 조밀하게 형성 될 때 좋은 어장이 형성되는 것으로 나타났다. 한편 불황을 보인 해에는 남해 중동부 해역에서 현저한 저수온(FI=-50~-150)을 보이거나 해역간의 수온 분포가 동질적이어서 수괴의 분리현상이 나타나지 않았으며, 또 8월의 수온약층도 30m보다 깊은 수층에서 나타났다.

단일 원관에서 전방류의 주기적인 속도 변동에 따른 유동 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Flow Characteristic due to the Periodic Velocity Fluctuation of Upstream at Single Tube)

  • 열교환기에서 유동 유발 진동은 배관의 파손을 유발할 수 있어서 열교환기의 구조 안정성을 위해 유동 유발 진동 특성을 규명할 필요가 있다. 본 연구는 단일 원관에서 입구의 유속이 일정한 경우와 주기적인 변동이 있는 경우에 대하여 시간에 따라 원관 주위에서 와류의 생성, 발달 및 분리 특성을 비교 분석하고 양력과 항력의 시간 변화 특성과 PSD 특성을 살펴보아 단일 원관에서 전방류의 주기적인 속도 변동에 따른 유동 특성을 규명하였다. 일정 입구 유속의 경우는 잘 알려진 칼만 와류 분포를 보여 주었으며 원관의 상하에서 교대로 와류가 발생, 성장, 분리하는 것을 관찰할 수 있었다. 주기적인 입구 유속의 경우는 원관의 상하에서 동시에 와류가 발생하는 것을 관찰할 수 있었다. 일정 입구 유속의 경우는 양력의 PSD 크기가 항력에 비해 약 500배 컸으며 주파수는 31.15 Hz이며 항력은 2배인 62.3 Hz로 나타났다. 주기적인 입구 유속의 경우는 항력의 PSD가 양력보다 약 500배 컸으며 주파수는 입구 유속의 주파수와 동일하게 15.57 Hz이며 양력의 주파수는 일정 입구 유속과 같은 칼만 와류 주파수인 31.15 Hz로 나타났다.

사각 실린더를 지나는 층류 유동특성 (FLOW PAST A RECTANGULAR CYLINDER)

  • This study performed numerical simulation to elucidate the characteristics of flow past a rectangular cylinder with various values of the aspect ratio(AR) of the cylinder. We calculated the flow field, force coefficients and Strouhal number of vortex shedding depending on the Reynolds number(Re) and the aspect ratio. The $AR{\approx}1$ is preferred for drag reduction, and 0.375$AR{\approx}0$ is recommended if suppression of the lift-coefficient fluctuation and the shedding frequency is desirable. Furthermore the criticality of the Hopf bifurcation is also reported for each AR.

공회전시 비틀림진동 저감을 위한 클러치 비틀림 특성 연구 (A Study on Clutch-disc Torsional Characteristic for aTorsional Vibration Reduction at Idling)

  • The flucturation of the engine torque appears to be the major source of the torsional vibration of the automotive driveline. The reduction of this torsional vibration has become a significant problem, due to an increase in the flucturation of the torque of recent light weighted powered engines, along with the requirements of higher performance. The torsional vibration of the automotive driveline can be reduced by soothing the fluctuation by adjusting the torsional characteristics of the clutch-disc. Computer simulation of the engine- input gear train is a useful investigative tool on studying the torsional characteristics of the clutch-disc. In this paper, a dynamic model for the automotive driveline was developed, and the engine torque and drag torque of the model were evaluated withe experimental data. By executing a simulation using the model, it has become possible to obtain the clutch-disc torsional characteristics when the engine is idling and the clucth-disc torsional characteristics for reducing the torsional vibration has been suggested.
