단일수직(單一垂直)한 축방향(軸方向)의 핀을 가진 수평전도관(水平傳導管)으로 부터의 자연대류(自然對流) (Natural Convection from a Horisontal Conducting Tube with One Vertical Axial Fin.)

  • Two-dimensional finite difference numerical analysis is used to study conjugate natural convection heat transfer from a horizontal conducting tube with one vertical axial fin. By increasing dimensionless fin length ($L_F$), the mean total Nusselt number of the upward fin is slightly less than that of the downward fin at $L_F\;{\le}\;0.18$ and is higher than that of the downward fin at $L_F\;>\;0.18$. However comparing the upward fin and the downward fin with the no fin, the mean total Nusselt numbers of downward fin and upward fin at $L_F=0.30$ are increased approximately 4.01% and 5.51%, respectively. As Rayleigh number, Prandtl number and Biot number increase, the mean total and the mean tube Nusselt numbers are increased, but as wall thickness increases, the mean total and the mean tube Nusselt numbers are decreased. As the fin conduction parameter increases, the mean total Nusselt number is slightly increased because of increasing the mean fin Nusselt number.

  • Conjugate heat transfer by steady laminar natural convection from a conducting tube with two vertical axial fins has been studied by a finite difference numerical procedure under basic conditions; $Ra=10_6$, Pr = 5 and $L_F=0.15$. The maximum local tube Nusselt number appears at ${\theta}=140^{\circ}$ for $L_F=0.06$, at ${\theta}=130^{\circ}$ for $L_F=0.30$ and at ${\theta}=120^{\circ}$ for $L_F=0.30$, $L_F=0.06$, respectively. The maximum mean Nusselt number shows at $L_F=0.18$ for the downward fin and at $L_F=0.12$ for the upward fin. Therefore the optimized fin length is $L_F{\approx}0.15$ under these conditions. At $L_F=0.15$, the mean Nusselt number by increasing Rayleigh number is remarkably increased for downward fin and then is slowly increased except for downward fin, it by increasing Prandtl number is apparently increased at $Pr{\leq}2$, and slightly increased at Pr>2.

  • A study has been conducted experimentally on the natural convection heat transfer characteristics of fin arrays on a horizontal flat plate in air. The effects of fin heights and Rayleigh numbers are mainly investigated. The experimental results are as follows; 1. The mean fin and mean total Nusselt numbers increase as dimensionless fin heights increase at 0.67.leg.H/s.leg.1.67. The mean plate Nusselt numbers increase in case of upward facing fins, but they decrease in case of downward facing fins. 2. The mean Nusselt numbers increase as Rayleigh numbers increase. 3. The mean fin surface Nusselt numbers has its maximum outside surface (Y$_{1}$) where there is no interference from each other fin. 4. The mean total Nusselt numbers in case of upward facing fins increase by 47% and 26%, respectively at H/S=0.67 and 1.67 than those in case of downward facing fins for Ra$_{s}$=6.50*10$^{3}$.>.

  • A numerical study has been performed on the natural convection heat transfer from a conducting tube with two axial fins to a surrounding cylinder. As increasing dimensionless fin length ($L_F$), the center of flow moves to the bottom of annulus and the recirculating flow rate is decreased. The maximum local Nusselt number of conducting tube appears at ${\theta}=180^{\circ}$ for $L_F=0.0$, but at ${\theta}=130^{\circ}$ for $L_F{\geq}0.3$ and that of outer cylinder appears at ${\theta}=13^{\circ}$ for $L_F{\leq}0.6$ but at ${\theta}=33^{\circ}$ for $L_F=1.0$. The fin temperature is decreased by increasing radial distance and the temperature distribution of the downward fin is generally less than that of the upward fin. By increasing fin length, the local Nusselt number of the upward fin appears negative values for $L_F=1.0$, but appears positive values for $L_F<0.8$, and that of the downward fin appears positive values.

  • The flow and heat transfer characteristics of a heat exchanger having rectangular pin-fin in the flow direction have been investigated numerically. On the bottom plate, the convective boundary conditions for the hot side was given, and the fins were arranged in a channel-type geometric model using the periodic boundary condition in the span-wise direction. Three-dimensional numerical calculations for the flow and conjugate heat transfer problem were conducted using SIMPLE algorithm and $k-{\varepsilon}$ turbulence model. For the slanted pin-fin models, it was found that the downward cooling flow is generated due to the downward pressure gradient component, which can enhance the heat transfer performance near the bottom surface and the fin stem region. Four different inclined angles were considered in the Reynolds number range of 13,500-55,000. The aero-thermal performance of the slanted pin-fin heat exchangers, such as the volume and area goodness factors, were summarized and compared with the baseline plate-fin type heat exchanger quantitatively.

  • An experimental study has been performed on the heat transfer by the natural convection from a conducting tube with two axial fins to a surrounding cylinder. In case of vertical fins, the maximum local Nusselt number of conducting tube appears at ${\theta}{\fallingdotseq}145^{\circ}$ and that of outer cylinder appears at ${\theta}=0^{\circ}$, for $l_F=0.3$. In case of horizontal fins, the maximum local Nusselt number of conducting tube appears at ${\theta}=180^{\circ}$ and that of outer cylinder appears at ${\theta}=0^{\circ}$. The local Nusselt number of the upper fin and the downward fin shows negative values for $l_F=1.0$. The local Nusselt number of the lower fin and the downward fin shows higher values than that of the upper fin and the upward fin. The mean Nusselt number of conducting tube in case of vertical fins are increased in order of $l_F=0.6$, 0.3, 1.0 and 0.0, but in case of horizontal fins, in order of $l_F=1.0$, 0.6, 0.3, and 0.0. The mean Nusselt number of outer cylinder in case of vertical fins are increased in order of $l_F=1.0$, 0.0, 0.3 and 0.6, but in case of horizontal fins, in order of $l_F=0.6$, 1.0, 0.3, and 0.0.

  • 본 논문에서는 수평관 내부의 체적평균온도를 가진유체의 난류강제대류에서 열전달이 일어나는 경우에 대하여 핀이 없는 수평전도관, 하향 핀이 부착된 수평전도 관 그리고 상향 핀이 부착된 수평전도관의 열전달 특성을 수치계산으로 연구하고 Mach -Zehnder 간섭계를 이용하여 실험하였고 수치해석과 실험결과를 비교하여 타당성을 확 인하였다.

  • An adiabatic counter-current vertical two-phase flow of air and water in narrow rectangular channels with offset strip fm was investigated experimentally. Tests were systematically performed with downward liquid superficial velocities and upward gas velocities covering 0 to 0.06 m/s and 0 to 2.5 m/s ranges, respectively. Two-phase flow regimes were classified by examining the video images of flow patterns in transparent test sections of 760 mm long and 100 mm wide channel with gaps of 3.0 and 5.0 mm. The channel average void fraction was measured by the quick-closing valve method. Unlike the flow regimes in the channels without fin, where bubbly, slug, chum, and annular flow were identified, only bubbly and chum flow regimes were found for the channels with offset strip fin. However the existence of fin in the channels showed negligible effects on the void fraction. Instead counter-current flow limitations were found to happen at lower air superficial velocity once offset strip fin was introduced in narrow rectangular channels.

  • 큰가시고기목, Solenostomidae (국명신칭: 유령실고기과)에 속하는 Solenostomus cyanopterus 암컷 1개체(표준체장 73.6 mm)가 경북 영덕연안의 수중에서 처음 채집되었다. 다른 실고기류와는 달리, 유령실고기류는 암컷의 배지느러미가 융합되어 변형된 육아낭을 가지고 등지느러미에 극조를 가지는 특징이 있다. 본종은 주둥이의 폭이 넓고 꼬리자루가 짧고 폭이 넓으며, 피질돌기와 줄무늬가 없는 것이 특징이다. 또한 수중에서 관찰한 바로는, 암수 짝을 지어 머리를 아래로 하여 마치 떠다니는 해조류나 낙엽같이 느리게 유영하였다. 본종의 신한국명을 "유령실고기"라고 명명하였다.

낙동강 본류에 서식하는 붕어에서의 납, 카드뮴과 아연의 함량 (Contents of Lead, Cadmium and Zinc in Bone, Muscle and Fin of Carassius carassius from Middle Stream of Nakdong River, Korea)

  • 낙동강 중류의 수질과 그 수계에 서식하는 어류와 납, 카드뮴 및 아연과의 관계를 붕어를 대상으로 관찰하였다. 본 실험을 위한 표본은 비교적 갈수기라고 인정되는 3월 초순에 안동댐, 낙동교, 왜관, 강정, 개포 인근 그리고 낙동강의 주 오염원이 되는 금호강에서는 팔달교 부근에서 채취하였으며 수중 중금속 및 조직 중 납, 카드뮴과 아연은 원자흡광분광광도계(IL-551)로 분석하였다. 낙동강의 상류에서 하류로 내려올수록 납, 카드뮴, 아연 함량은 증가하였고, 팔달교 부근은 강정 상류보다 $3{\sim}5$배 더 높았으며 이는 낙동강과의 하류지점에서 약 40km 하류에 위치한 개포의 수질보다 약 1.5배 정도 높게 나타났다. 붕어의 뼈, 근육, 지느러미 중의 납, 카드뮴 함량도 상류에서 포획한 것보다 하류에서 포획한 것이 많았다. 강정을 포함한 상류보다 오염수역이라고 할 수 있는 개포 및 팔달교 근처의 붕어에서 유의성 있게 높았다. 붕어의 뼈조직 중 납, 카드뮴, 아연의 함량은 조사 전역에 걸친 그들 수환경보다 각각 $771{\sim}2,856$배, $188{\sim}564$배, $663{\sim}1,327$배이었으며 근육에서는 각각 $170{\sim}516$배, $62{\sim}169$배, $247{\sim}389$배이고 지느러미에서는 각각 $484{\sim}1,770$배, $122{\sim}360$배, $509{\sim}983$배 이었다. 이들 붕어의 성장 햇수별 납, 카드뮴 및 아연 함량은 연령이 증가할수록 증가했으며 각 수역에서의 동일 연령군까지 비교했을때는 상류에서 하류로 내려갈수록 그 함량이 많았다. 팔달교에서의 $0{\sim}1$세군에서의 뼈 중 납의 함량은 개포의 $4{\sim}5$세군과 근사하며 강정 상류의 $3{\sim}4$세군보다 높은 경향을 보였다. 이상과 같은 결과를 요약하면 낙동강은 금호강의 탁류의 영향을 크게 받아 오염 수역에서 포획한 어군은 비오염수역의 어군보다 중금속 함량이 유의하게 높으며 성장 햇수가 많아짐에 따라 중금속 함량은 높다는 것을 알 수있다.
