  • The success of implants essentially depends on a sufficient volume of healthy bone at the recipient site during implant placement. In patients who have the severe alveolar bone resorption or pneumatized maxillary sinus, it should be performed that bone regeneration procedure before implant placement. Development of barrier membrane makes it possible that predictable result of alveolar bone reconstruction. Many kind of materials used for barrier membrane technique are introduced, non-absorbable or absorbable membranes. But, when operation site was ruptured with membrane exposure, bacterias can be grow up at the bone graft site. Then morphology and migration of fibroblast will be changed. It works as a negative factor on healing process of bone graft site. In oral and maxillofacial department of Chonbuk national university dental hospital, we use variable suture technique like as subgingival suture, vertical mattress suture, simple interrupted suture, if need, tenting suture after GBR or block bone graft. Within these suture technique, wound healing was excellent without complication, so now we take a report of suture technique in reconstruction of alveolar bone surgery.

  • Alkaline oxygen evolution reaction (OER) electrocatalysts have been widely studied for improving the efficiency and green hydrogen production through electrochemical water splitting. Transition metal-based electrocatalysts have emerged as promising materials that can significantly reduce the hydrogen production costs. Among the available electrocatalysts, transition metal-based layered double hydroxides (LDHs) have demonstrated outstanding OER performance owing to the abundant active sites and favorable adsorption-desorption energies for OER intermediates. Currently, cobalt doped nickel LDHs (NiCo LDHs) are regarded as the benchmark electrocatalyst for alkaline OER, primarily owing to the physicochemical synergetic effects between Ni and Co. We report effects of heat-treatment of the as-grown NiCo LDH on electrocatalytic activities in a temperature range from 250 to 400℃. Electrocatalytic OER properties were analysed by linear sweep voltammetry (LSV) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The heat-treatment temperature was found to play a crucial role in catalytic activity. The optimum heat-treatment temperature was discussed with respect to their OER performance.

  • The oxygen evolution reaction (OER) is the primary challenge in renewable energy storage technologies, specifically electrochemical water splitting for hydrogen generation. We report effects of Mo doping into Ni layered double hydroxide (Ni-LDH) microcrystal on electrocatalytic activities. In this study, Mo doped Ni-LDH were grown on three-dimensional porous nicekl foam (NF) by a facile solvothermal method. Homogeneous LDH structure on the NF was clearly observed. However, the surface microstructure of the nickel foam began to be irregular and collapsed when Mo precursor is doped. Electrocatalytic OER properties were analyzed by Linear sweep voltammetry (LSV) and Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The amount of Mo doping used in the electrocatalytic reaction was found to play a crucial role in improving catalytic activity. The optimum Mo amount introduced into the Ni LDH was discussed with respect to their OER performance.

  • This paper studies the free vibration behavior of trapezoidal shaped coupled double-layered graphene sheets (DLGS) system using first-order shear deformation theory (FSDT) and incorporating nonlocal elasticity theory. Two nanoplates are assumed to be bonded by an interlayer van der walls force and surrounded by an external kelvin-voight viscoelastic medium. The governing equations together with related boundary condition are discretized using a mapping-differential quadrature method (DQM) in the spatial domain. Then the natural frequency of the system is obtained by solving the eigen value matrix equation. The validity of the current study is evaluated by comparing its numerical results with those available in the literature and then a parametric study is thoroughly performed, concentrating on the series effects of angles and aspect ratio of GS, viscoelastic medium, and nonlocal parameter. The model is used to study the vibration of DLGS for two typical deformation modes, the in-phase and out-of-phase vibrations, which are investigated. Numerical results indicate that due to Increasing the damping parameter of the viscoelastic medium has reduced the frequency of both modes and this medium has been able to overdamped the oscillations and by increasing stiffness parameters both in-phase and out-of-phase vibration frequencies increased.

  • The purposes of this study were to prepare dual-layered coated compact pellets containing three nutrients Glucose, Chromium picolinate, Vitamin C) for rumen bypass. The core compact pellets were prepared by an extrusionspheronization method and then double layered coated with pH independent EC (ethyl cellulose) and pH-dependent polymers ($Eudragit^{(R)}$ E100) using a fluid-bed spray coater. Depending on the coating levels of EC and $Eudragit^{(R)}$ E100, release profiles were variable in simulated rumen (pH 6.8) and abomasums (pH 2.0) fluid using USP apparatus I (basket method). When compact pellets were coated with EC (about 10% level in inner layer) and then $Eudragit^{(R)}$ E100 (20% level in outer layer) in a dual-layered manner, rumen-bypass delivery resisting rumen fluid followed by release in abomasums fluid could possible. The friability was also satisfactory based on chewing behavior of ruminants. The dual-layered coated compact pellets showed smooth surface and distinct inner/outer layers using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The current rumen bypass delivery system can be also applicable to deliver other nutrients in ruminants.

  • An analytical procedure to analyze reinforced concrete(RC) beams and columns subject to monotonic and cyclic loadings is proposed on the basis of the layered section method. In contrast to the classical nonlinear approaches adopting the perfect bond assumption, the bond slip effect along the reinforcing bar is quantified with the force equilibrium and compatibility condition at the post cracking stage and its contribution is implemented into the reinforcing. The advantage of the proposed analytical procedure, therefore, will be on the consideration of the bond slip effect while using the classical layered section method without additional consideration such as taking the double nodes. Through correlation studies between experimental data and analytical results, it Is verified that the proposed analytical procedure can effectively simulate the cracking behavior of RC beams and columns accompanying the stiffness degradation caused by the bond slip.

  • The sealing performance of an elastomeric O-ring using the double layered material has been analyzed fer the contact stress behaviors that develop between the O-ring seal and the surfaces with which it comes into contact. The leakage of an O-ring will occur when the pressure differential across the seal Just exceeds the initial (or static) peak contact stress. The contact stress behaviors that develop in compressed O-rings, in common case of dovetail grooved geometry, are investigated using the finite element method. The FE analysis includes material hyperelasticity and axisymmetry. The computed FEM results show that the contact stress behaviors are related to the ratio of diameter between the inner ring and the outer ring, and the temperature of vacuum chamber.

  • Double-diffusive convection with verical temperature and concentration gradients in thermally stratified fluids has been investigated experimentally using an electrochemical technique. Cupric sulfuric-sulffuric acid solution confined between two horizontal copper electrodes was used. The change of thermal and solutal buoyance has no influence on the range of voltage for the limiting current. Due to Soret effect, the onset time of natural convection is delayed as the stabilizing thermal buoyancy decreases. Also it is found that the shrinkage of the unstabilizing solutal buoyancy makes the onset of natural convection retard. Multi-layered convective phenomena do not appear because cupric sulfate-sulfuric acid solution is thermally stratified, and heat diffuses faster than cupric sulfate solfate solution.

  • In chromium electrodeposition, crack is inevitably accompanied by chromium layer. Behavior of crack formation and crack density were different from the plating conditions such as current density, temperature, waveform of applied current and so on. And cracks have an influence on the corrosion resistance of chromium deposit, because corrosion occurs through the network of cracks between deposit and substrate. Therefore, many researches have been achieved in order to remove the cracks in chromium deposit. Formation of double layers, Cr/Cr and Ni/Cr were investigated to increase corrosion resistance of chromium deposit in this study. As pretreatment prior to outer chromium coating, acid pickling and current control method were examined. Cracks in cross-section of each sample were observed with SEM and CASS(Copper modified acetic acid salt spray) test was performed to evaluate corrosion resistance. It was found that corrosion resistance of Cr/Cr and Ni/Cr double layers were superior to Cr or Ni single layer from the results of CASS test.

  • This paper introduces a new steel jacketing method for reinforced concrete columns with lap splice and evaluates its performance by a series of axial tests of concrete cylinders. At first, 45 concrete cylinders were fabricated with varying the design compressive strengths of 21, 27 and 35 MPa and, then, the part of them was jacketed with two-split-steel jackets under lateral confining pressure. The parameters in the first test were the steel jacket's thickness and the existence of adhesive between steel and concrete surface. In the second test, whole steel jackets were used to wrap cylinders with lateral pressure. Also, a double-layer jacket consisted of two steel plates was introduced; a cylinder was jacketed by two steel plates one after another. The effect of the new method was verified through comparing the results of the compressive tests for plain and jacketed cylinders. The steel jacket built following the new method showed good results of increasing the compressive strength and ductility of the jacketed cylinders with respect to the plain cylinders. The thicker steel jackets showed the more increased compressive strength, and the ductility at failure depended on the welding quality on steel jackets. The adhesive between steel and concrete surface reduced the confining effect of the steel jackets. The whole jacket showed more ductile behavior than the two-split jackets. The double-layered jackets were estimated to possess an equal performance to that of a single steel jacket having the same thickness of the double-layered jacket. Finally, the experimental results were compared with the constitutive model of steel-jacketed concrete; which showed a good agreement between the experimental results and the models.
