This research was conducted to identify factors that affect work-life balance and happiness among married working couples with a double income. To this end, a survey was administered to 260 married working couples in the Seoul metropolitan region. The analysis of the survey responses using the SPSS (Ver. 21) program yielded several important results. First, the variables that significantly affected work-family balance included the number of family dinners eaten together, meaning of life, efforts to strike a work-life balance, and the availability of social institutions and policies that promote work-life balance. Variables that significantly affected work-leisure balance included meaning of life, number of family dinners eaten together, gender, and the availability of social institutions and policies that promote work-leisure balance. As for work-growth balance, significant variables included meaning of life, communication with colleagues, income, and meaning of work. Finally, variables that significantly affected happiness included meaning of life, income, communication with colleagues, and work-growth balance. Based on these results, follow-up research needs to be conducted on various groups to help determine the factors that will ensure their work-life balance and happiness.

Double meaning inherent in the film is interpreted in the same context as it's called ambiguity in the literature. Ambiguity means that one word or one sentence can be interpreted in two or more meanings. In the movie, one behavior of a character, a prop or a costume with two or more meanings faces the audience. A famous French direct Francois Ozon said "The director has always made movie contrary to his/her latest movie." This means that the film should seek to reform and it's his philosophy about the movie. Actually, it's the film's basis that a movie breaks the taboo. The film has always challenged taboos and led the progressivism. Taboos of western films are more intense than our country's moral and ethical level. Their taboos are to deny the sacred and legitimacy of Christianity. Particularly, as many people talk about the film to deny the divinity of Jesus Christ, it's sufficient to elicit an argument pro and con. This study is to choose the movie "Perfume"of director Tom Tykwer as a text, examine the highly elaborate and strategical double meaning in the movie and analyze the western taboos to deceive the audience skillfully.

A psychological disturbance caused by letters in double image was termed as'letter sickness'.The effects of stimulus exposure time and letter familiarity on the letter sickness were measured to test a hypothesis that disturbances in eye movement and recognition stages is the cause of letter sickness.Letter sickness incteased significantly as stimulus exposure time lengthened from 50ms,100ms,to 3000ms.It was also significantly higher with familiar Hangul letters as compared with less familiar foreign letters and meaningless words as compared with meaningful words,respectively.These experimental findings imply that letter sickness is caused by the failure of adjusting eye movements to dismiss the double images.that the more familiar the letters.the more strongly the letter-identification process is commotted,resulting in the increased effect of disturbance from double image.and that the disturbance effect of double image is amplified when it is hard to extract the meaning from familiar letters.An experiment where subjects were made to learn Braille-like symbols consisting of 6 dots to test the hypothesis that the stronger the tendency to process the meaning of a symbol,the stronger becomes letter sickness due to double image,also showed that letter sickness significantly increased as a function of learning.

The concept of style including the external form and internal meaning provides a useful structure to clarify the historical phenomenon on dress. The purpose of this study was to explore surrealism related to the external form and internal meaning and the stylistic change of surrealism through 1930 and 1988 according the linked solution proposed by Brodsky. The results were as follows; 1. In terms of double roots including the external form and the internal meaning on the surrealism of dress, first, the external form was founded to be that each objects having symbolic meaning was dislocated from its original place to dress. Second, the aspects of internal meaning intended to represent not rational and external world but irrational as well as to reveal other nature of object or dress itself. 2. The change of surrealistic style on dress was characterised as "linked solution" change theory than cyclical change theory through the historical data from 1930 to 1988 of documentary sources.

This study explored the possibility of using visual models in teaching proportional reasoning based on the review of previous studies. Many studies on proportional reasoning emphasize that students tend to simply apply formal procedures without understanding the meaning behind them and that using visual models may be an alternative to help students develop informal strategies and proportional reasoning. Given these, we re-constructed and implemented the unit of a textbook to teach sixth graders proportional reasoning with ratio table, double number line, and double tape diagram. The results of this study showed that such visual models helped students understand the meaning of proportion, explore the properties of proportion, and solve proportional problems. However, several difficulties that students experienced in using the visual models led us to suggest cautionary notes when to teach proportional reasoning with visual models. As such, this study is expected to provide empirical information for textbook developers and teachers who teach proportional reasoning with visual models.

This study examines the examples of wooden member terms of architecture terminology used in Yeonggeon-euigwe(營建儀軌) in the era of Joseon Dynasty. It is to trace the period of their appearances and changes and also to illuminate coinage characteristics and method of architectural terminology used in Yeonggeon-euigwe through graphonomy research and system and structure of wood member terms. By analyzing the meaning of a word, it was found that there was much Insineui, difference of word meaning by country was shown although it was the same shape of character. In particular, the specialty of double language system of Korean language is combined with that of wood terms. Operation of type unrelated to word meaning was found and Korean unique Gachaeui(假借義) like Bo(褓) was generated. This study draws separate systems: one is that can indicate coinage characters of architectural terminology in Yeonggeon-euigwe. The other is to obtain coinage method as a result of reclassifying terminology based on it.

Argument alternation in English sentences such as “load hay onto the truck" vs. “load the truck with hay" or “Bees are swarming in the. garden" vs. “The garden swarms with bees" present an interesting dilemma for linguistic theory in several ways. Along with each kind of syntactic rearrangement of arguments goes a subtle but significant and systematic change in the verb's meaning. This has been called as different terminology such as “Double-faced", “Verbal diathesis", and most commonly as “Argument alternation", Dowty adopts terminology: Agent-subject (A-subject) form and Location-subject (L-subject) form in referring the two kinds of sentences and analyses as well as describes their different properties. In this paper, I basically follow the Dowty(200l)'s assumption while surveying several linguists's analysis and show its theoretical adequacy. and show its theoretical adequacy.

The recently published papers and essays regarding 'tectonic' bring us to rumination of its importance on comprehending modern architectural process. Many architectural theorists may seem to seek the substance of architecture through the discussion of 'tectonic' for the purpose of overcoming the dilemma of representation which can be easily found in modern architectural forms. Their emphasizing on its double-faced aspect as the manner of representation, that is semantic and aesthetic, may imply the significance of philosophical approach especially to the recent architectural phenomena. From this point, it ought to be meaningful to manifest etymological connection between the terms with semantic analysis and interpret the substance and ontological meaning of 'tectonic' referring Martin Heidegger's existential philosophy. Besides the works of Carlo Scarpa, that are known as the art of making, are exampled to prove the way how the ontological meaning of practical act is exposed on an artwork. The idea of 'tectonic' connotes not only technological aspect as construction of form and space, but also ontological aspect as joint or detail, that is the result of logos. The 'tectonic' means etymologically 'joint' having double-meaning structure, technology and aesthetics. It means 'detail' as minimum units of architectural form and as sites where making relationship or connection takes place in the way of ontological apprehension. The 'detail' as the place of innovation and invention implies the culture of an area, and expresses craftsmanship, which modem architecture buries in oblivion. This study aims to deviate from the aesthetical commercialization in which the modern architecture tends to fall, and further, propose the possible way to succeed traditional locality in an epistemological point of view.
