Photocycloaddition Reaction of 8-Methoxypsoralen and 5,7-Dimethoxycoumarin with Maleimide

  • $C_4$-Photocycloaddition of 8-methoxypsoralen (8-MOP) and 5,7-dimethoxycoumarin (DMC) to maleimide was studied in order to elucidate the mechanism of the photobiological activities of these molecules. The photoreaction was carried out in chloroform solution and frozen aqueous solution state. The major product was isolated and characterized by spectroscopic methods. The photoadduct between 8-MOP and maleimide was shown to be an 1:1 $C_4$-cycloadduct through the photocycloaddition of 4',5'-furyl double bond of 8-MOP to maleimide. The stereochemistry of cyclobutane ring of this photoadduct is consistent with the anti configuration. The photoadduct between DMC and maleimide was shown to be an 1:1 $C_4$-cycloadduct through the photocycloaddition of 3,4-pyrone double bond of DMC to maleimide.

온칩 메모리 내 다중 비트 이상에 대처하기 위한 오류 정정 부호 (Error correction codes to manage multiple bit upset in on-chip memories)

  • As shrinking the semiconductor process into the deep sub-micron to achieve high-density, low power and high performance integrated circuits, MBU (multiple bit upset) by soft errors is one of the major challenge of on-chip memory systems. To address the MBU, single error correction, double error detection and double adjacent error correction (SEC-DED-DAEC) codes have been recently proposed. But these codes do not resolve mis-correction. We propose the SEC-DED-DAEC-TAED(triple adjacent error detection) code without mis-corrections. The generated H-matrix by the proposed heuristic algorithm to accomplish the proposed code is implemented as hardware and verified. The results show that there is no mis-correction in the proposed codes and the 2-stage pipelined decoder can be employed on-chip memory system.

더블제트 침전법에 의한 제이인산망간염 수화물의 새로운 합성 방법 (Synthesis of Manganese Hydrogen Phosphate Hydrate by Controlled Double-jet Precipitation)

  • 탄소강 재질은 부식에 취약하여 용도에 따라 화성피막화 공정으로 처리하여 내부식성을 부여한다. 제이인산망간염 수화물, $MnHPO_4{\cdot}2.25H_2O$는 인산망간피막을 입히기 위한 전처리 공정용 혼합물 제품의 주성분으로 사용된다. 이 망간 함유 물질은 수용액 중에서 합성되어 여과와 건조, 그리고 일련의 건식 분쇄와 분급 과정을 통하여 생산된다. 이러한 공정은 명백히 환경친화적이지 못할 뿐만 아니라 비용 효율적이지 못하다. 본 연구에서는 더블제트 침전 기술에 기반을 두고 수용액 중에서 해당 망간 화합물을 입자 크기가 비교적 균일하게 합성하기 위한 새로운 공정기술 원리를 실험적으로 검토하였다. 안정화 첨가제의 효과들이 주사전자현미경 사진을 통하여, 생성된 결정성 침전 입자의 크기의 균일성 측면에서, 비교 검토되었다. 폴리비닐 피롤리돈과 아라비아 검이 더블제트 침전 공정에서 결정의 성장 단계를 제어하여 비교적 균일한 입자를 합성하는 안정제로서 훌륭한 효과를 발휘하는 것으로 밝혀졌다.

  • 최근, 컴퓨터 비전과 기계 학습 기술의 도움을 받아 효율적이고 자동적인 도시 환경에 대한 분석 방법의 개발에 대한 연구가 이루어지고 있다. 많은 분석들 중에서도 도시의 안전도 분석은 지역 사회의 많은 관심을 받고 있다. 더욱 정확한 안전도 점수 예측과 인간의 시각적 인지를 반영하기 위해서, 인간의 시각적 인지에서 가장 중요한 전역 정보와 지역 정보의 고려가 필요하다. 이를 위해 우리는 전역 칼럼과 지역 칼럼으로 구성된 Double-column Convolutional Neural Network를 사용한다. 전역 칼럼과 지역 칼럼 각각은 입력은 크기가 변환된 원 영상과 원 영상에서 무작위로 크로핑을 사용한다. 또한, 학습 과정에서 특정 칼럼에 오버피팅되는 문제를 해결하기 위한 새로운 학습방법을 제안한다. 우리의 DCNN 모델의 성능 비교를 위해 2개의 SVR 모델과 3개의 CNN 모델의 평균 제곱근 오차와 상관관계 분석을 측정하였다. 성능 비교 실험 결과 우리의 모델이 0.7432의 평균 제곱근 오차와 0.853/0.840 피어슨/스피어맨 상관 계수로 가장 좋은 성능을 보여주었다.

Double-layered collagen graft to the radial forearm free flap donor sites without skin graft

  • Background: Radial forearm free flap is the most reliable flap for intraoral soft tissue reconstruction after cancer ablation surgery. However, unesthetic scar of the donor site and the need for a second donor site for skin graft are major disadvantages of the forearm flap. The purpose of this study was to report the clinical results of double-layered collagen graft to the donor site of the forearm free flap without skin graft. Methods: Twenty-two consecutive patients who underwent oral cancer ablation and forearm reconstruction between April 2010 and November 2013 were included in this study. Male to female ratio was 12:10, and average age was 61.0 years old (27-84). Double-layered collagen was grafted to the donor site of the forearm free flap and healed for secondary intention. Upper silicone had been trimmed at the periphery during secondary intention, and dry dressing was used. Postoperative scar healing and esthetic results and function were evaluated. Results: An average follow-up period was 34.9 months. The scar area was decreased to 63.9 % in average. The complete healing was obtained between 1.5 and 3 months according to the defect size. There was no functional defect or impairment 3 months after operation. All patients were satisfied with the esthetic results. Three patients died of recurred cancer. Conclusions: Double-layered collagen graft was successfully performed in this study. Without the thigh skin graft, patients had experienced less painful postoperative healing periods and discomfort.

MICROSTRUCTURE AND TRIBOLOGY OF $TiB_2$ AND $TiB_2$-TiN DOUBLE-LAYER COATINGS

  • $TiB_2$-TiN double-layer coating have been prepared by ion beam enhanced deposition. AES, XRD, TEM and HRTEM were employed to characterize the $TiB_2$ layer. The microhardness of the coatings was evaluated by an ultra low-load microhardness indenter system, and the tribological behavior was examined by a ball-on-disc tribology wear tester. It was found that in a single titanium diboride layer, the composition is uniform along the depth of the film, and it is mainly composed of nanocrystalline $TiB_2$ with hexagonal structure, which resulted from the ion bombardment during the film growth. The hardness of the $TiB_2$ films increases with increasing ion energy, and approaches a maximum value of the $TiB_2$ films increases with increasing ion energy, and approaches a maximum value of 39 Gpa at ion energy of 85 keV. The tribological property of the TiB2 films is also improved by higher energy of 85keV. The tribological property of the $TiB_2$ films is also improved by higher energy ion beam bombardment. There is no major disparity in the mechanical properties of double-layer $TiB_2$/TiN coatings and TiN/$TiB_2$ coatings. Both show an improved wear resistance compared with single-layer $TiB_2$ films. The adhesion of double-layer coatings is also superior to that of single-layer films.

Influence of moisture content on main mechanical properties of expansive soil and deformation of non-equal-length double-row piles: A case study

  • The mechanical properties of expansive soil are very unstable, highly sensitive to water, and thus easy to cause major engineering accidents. In this paper, the expansive soil foundation pit project of the East Huada Square in the eastern suburb of Chengdu was studied, the moisture content of the expansive soil was considered as an important factor that affecting the mechanics properties of expansive soil and the stability of the non-equal-length double-row piles in the foundation pit support. Three groups of direct shear tests were carried out and the quantitative relationships between the moisture content and shear strength τ, cohesion c, internal friction angle φ were obtained. The effect of cohesion and internal friction angle on the maximum displacement and the maximum bending moment of piles were analyzed by the finite element software MIDAS/GTS (Geotechnical and Tunnel Analysis System). Results show that the higher the moisture content, the smaller the matrix suction, and the smaller the shear strength; the cohesion and the internal friction angle are exponentially related to the moisture content, and both are negatively correlated. The maximum displacement and the maximum bending moment of the non-equal length double-row piles decrease with the increase of the cohesion and the internal friction angle. When the cohesion is greater than 33 kPa or the internal friction angle is greater than 25.5°, the maximum displacement and maximum bending moment of the piles are relatively small, however, once crossing the points (the corresponding moisture content value is 24.4%), the maximum displacement and the maximum bending moment will increase significantly. Therefore, in order to ensure the stability and safety of the foundation pit support structure of the East Huada Square, the moisture content of the expansive soil should not exceed 24.4%.

  • 본 연구는 현대연기의 근간이 되는 스타니슬랍스키 시스템과 그 미국적 계승이라 할 수 있는 아메리칸 액팅 메소드가 전혀 다른 성격의 연기론이 될 수밖에 없었던 이유를 규명하고자 한다. 먼저, 시스템 계승의 주요 국가인 러시아와 미국, 그리고 우리나라를 대상으로 시스템 관련 스타니슬랍스키 저서의 출판과 번역 과정을 따라가며 각국에서 시스템이 전혀 다르게 이해되었음을 확인한다. 이를 바탕으로 시스템의 체계를 유지하는 '체험'과 배우의 '이중 의식'이 메소드에서 어떻게 받아들여진 것인지 논의하여 두 연기론의 차이와 그 원인을 밝히고자 한다. 시스템에서 메소드로의 변곡점이라 할 수 있는 스타니슬랍스키 저술 출판과 번역, 그리고 그로 인한 시스템에 관한 이해를 인식하고자 하는 것은 시스템과 메소드 모두를 온전히 이해하고자 하는 시도라 하겠다. 시스템과 메소드를 근본적으로 이해하고자 하는 본 연구가 앞으로의 시스템과 메소드에 대한 다양한 시각의 논의를 마련하는 밑거름이 될 수 있기를 기대한다.

A Study of Double Dark Photons Produced by Lepton Colliders using High Performance Computing

  • The universe is thought to be filled with not only Standard Model (SM) matters but also dark matters. Dark matter is thought to play a major role in its construction. However, the identity of dark matter is as yet unknown, with various search methods from astrophysical observartion to particle collider experiments. Because of the cross-section that is a thousand times smaller than SM particles, dark matter research requires a large amount of data processing. Therefore, optimization and parallelization in High Performance Computing is required. Dark matter in hypothetical hidden sector is though to be connected to dark photons which carries forces similar to photons in electromagnetism. In the recent analysis, it was studied using the decays of a dark photon at collider experiments. Based on this, we studies double dark photon decays at lepton colliders. The signal channels are e+e- → A'A' and e+e- → A'A'γ where dark photon A' decays dimuon. These signal channels are based on the theory that dark photons only decay into heavily charged leptons, which can explain the muon magnetic momentum anomaly. We scanned the cross-section according to the dark photon mass in experiments. MadGraph5 was used to generate events based on a simplified model. Additionally, to get the maximum expected number of events for the double dark photon channel, the detector efficiency for several center of mass (CM) energy were studied using Delphes and MadAnalysis5 for performance comparison. The results of this study will contribute to the search for double dark photon channels at lepton colliders.

공학계열 남녀 졸업생의 조사를 통해 본 교과과정 내의 활동의 취업 기여 (Contribution of Curricula and Extra-Curricular Activities on Successful Employment Derived from an Engineering Graduates Survey)

  • This study investigated various attributes that contributed to successful employment in order to develop employment support programs, especially for female engineering students. We surveyed engineering students who graduated between 2006 and 2011. The 401 employed graduates participated in an online survey. The surveys inquired about their attachment towards their major, participation in various academic and non-academic activities, and their participation's contribution to their successful employment. In regards to their majors, women, in general, had lower levels of satisfaction, confidence, attachment, and motivation to succeed in their fields when compared to their male counterparts. These results show that engineering colleges still need to work on empowering female engineering students to gain confidence in their engineering major and attachment. The graduate school experience was highly rated by both men and women, whereas double majors exhibited somewhat lower scores. Among academic activities, part-time work experience and major-related internships were rated as the most helpful, and among extracurricular activities, study-abroad for language training and participation in student council or clubs received high scores. There was little difference between men and women in study-abroad participation, and women participated more actively in student councils. However, women had much less major-related work experience, reaffirming that colleges need to expand internship and field experience programs for female students.
