Concomitant Operation of Pulmonary Resection and Redo Double Valve Replacement -1 case report- (폐절제술과 이중판막재치환술 동시수술 -1예 보고-)

  • Patients with concomitant surgical diseases of the heart and lungs are a therapeutic challenge to cardiothoracic surgeons. A 59-year-old woman underwent right middle lobectomy for lung cancer and redo double valve replacement with tricuspid annuloplasty simultaneously. Concomitant operation is a safe procedure and might allow prompt correction of both conditions, thereby sparing the patient a second major thoracic procedure with its attendant risks.

Screening of Insecticides for Control of Spodoptera exigua in Double Cropping after Early Rice Alisma plantago

  • This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of insecticides on control of Spodoptera exigua, growth characteristics, and dry root yield in the cultivation of Alisma plantago after early maturing rice cropping. All pesticides treated had no effect on growth and flowering rate of Alisma plantago. The major insecticides were teflubenzuron Wp, 5%, tebufenozide Wp, 8%, iufenuron Ec, 5%, and tebufenozide Wp, 5%. Dry root yield were increased largely with tebufenozide Wp, 5%(20 g/20 l), insecticide than the other insecticides and no control. All insecticides had no injury with standard dosage. On the other hand, all insecticides had slight injury in the double dosage level for the Alisma plantago.

Double Extra-anatomic Bypasses in Upper and Lower Extremities - A Report of Case - (이중성 비해부학적 우회술 치험 1례)

  • The patient was 47-year-old male who had suffered from aphasia and hemiplegia of the right side, but mental state was alert. On physical examination, BP was 130/80 mmHg in the right arm, but not checked in the left arm. The pulses of the left common carotid, brachial, and radial arteries were not palpable. The pulses of the right femoral, popliteal, and dorsalis pedis arteries were weakly palpable. Brain CT Scan revealed cerebral infarction of the left hemisphere. Aortogram showed occlusion of the left common carotid, and the right internal carotid and common iliac arteries. Subclavian steal phenomena were observed in the delayed aortogram. Double extra-anatomic bypasses; Axillo-Axillar bypass and Femora-Femoral bypass, were performed in the local anesthesia at two stages, because of risk of major operation under general anesthesia. Postoperatively, all pulses except for pulse of the left common carotid artery were equally palpable. On discharge, the hemiplegia of the right side was improved and able to walk with assistance.

  • This study was conducted to evaluate the control effect of fungicides on control of brown leaf blight, growth characteristics, and dry root yield in the cultivation of Alisma plantago after early maturing rice cropping. All fungicides treated had no effect on the growth and flowering rate of Alisma plantago. The major fungicides were mancozeb Wp, 75%, chlorothalonil Wp, 75%, dithianon Wp, 43%, difenoconazole Wp, 10%, benomyl Wp, 50%, and propineb Wp, 70%. Dry root of yield were increased largely with chlorothalonil Wp, 75%(33 g/20), fungicide than the other fungicides and control. All fungicides had no injury with standard dosage.   • Persistent cloaca in a female newborn is one of the most complex and challenging anorectal malformation. The incidence is about 10% of all anorectal anomalies. Treatment of cloacal malformations has evolved during the past 40 years. However, it still remains one of the most difficult operations. In 1997, Pena reported a new procedure called "Total urogenital mobilization". We have repaired 3 cases of cloacal anomaly using "Total urogenital mobilization". The operations were performed between age 15 and 28 months. The length of the common channels was 2.5 - 3.0 cm. Two cases had double vaginas and one of them also had double uterus. The operation time was 4-5 hours and no major complications occurred. Functional and cosmetic results were satisfactory.

All fungicides treated had no effect on the growth of rapeseed. The major fungicides were mancozeb 75% WP, chlorothalonil 75% WP, dithianon 43% WP. difenoconazole 10% WP, benomyl 50% WP, and propineb 70% WP. Dry seed yield and control were increased largely with chlorothalonil 75% WP ($33g/12{\ell}$), fungicide than the other fungicides Sclerotinia rot. All fungicides had no injury with standard dosage. On the other hand all fungicides had slight injury in the double dosage level for the rapeseed.

Pyrolysis Paths of Polybutadiene Depending on Pyrolysis Temperature

  • Polybutadiene (BR) was pyrolyzed at $540-860^{\circ}C$ and the effect of pyrolysis temperature on variations in the relative abundance of the major pyrolysis products (C4-, C5-, C6-, C7-, and C8-species) was investigated. Formation of the C4-, C5-, C6-, and C7-species competed with that of the C8-species. Relative intensity of the C8-species decreased with increasing pyrolysis temperature, while that of the C5-, C6-, and C7-species increased. Pyrolysis paths were became more complicated with increasing pyrolysis temperature. We suggested the operation of double bond migration and succeeding rearrangements for the formation of the C5- and C7-species and various rearrangements, including a double bond, for the formation of the C6-species at high temperature. The activation energies for the pyrolysis product ratios of(C5+C6+C7)/C4 and C8/C4 were used to explain the competition reactions to form the pyrolysis products.

  • The characteristic aroma of Gardenia Absolute Oil made from Gardenia Jasminoides Ellis was investigated by GC and GC-MSD and by sensory evaluation The method of GC Analysis was used Double Column System by Carbowax 20M /SPB-1 of Pola/nonPola columns. And the result data of analysis was checked automatic Relent ion Indexs Match System by GC Workstation. A total of 51 compounds were identified in Gardenia Absolute Oil, including t entatively erstimated 9 compounds. The major components were Linalool, Farnesene of various form, Jasmin Lactone, Gamma undecalactone and Cis-3-hexone derivatives.

Experimental Behavior Analysis of Double Isolated Anti-Vibration System (2중방진 시스템의 실험적 거동해석)

  • Two types of vibration problems are encountered in industrial field: active isolation and passive isolation. In a passive type of vibration isolation, a foundation of a delicated machinery such as TEM, SEM, inspection- probe test, photolithograph, etc. is designed to have a vibration amplitude lower than an acceptable limit. In an active type, the isolation is focused on the vibration reduction caused by the machine itself(pump, motor, press, compressor, etc.). The foundation for such a machine should be so designed as to reduce the transmitted vibration below the permissible level prescribed. At any case, a transmissibility and stability must to be considered. Since an active isolation type is aimed for a vibration source, it is useful to isolate the transmitted vibrations energy from a major vibration source at the specific location. In this paper, a designed methodology of double anti-vibration system has been examined in order to have low transmissibility and reliable stability. Also experiment of scale model behavior has been conducted. Finally, the experiment output of the transfer function is compared to the analytical data.

  • The theoretical studies on the photocycloaddition reaction of 5,7-dimethoxycoumarin and 4',5'-dihydropsoralen with thymidine were carried out as a model for photosensitizing reaction of psoralen with DNA. The results are in reasonable agreement with experimental observations. The photoadducts between dimethoxycoumarin and thymidine were predicted to be $C_{4}$-cycloadducts through the cycloaddition of 3,4-pyrone double bond of dimethoxycoumarin to 5,6 double bond of thymidine. The major photoadduct of 4',5'-dihydropsoralen with thymidine has the anti head-to-head stereochemistry.
