  • The purpose of this research was to investigate the motives of second-hand clothing consumers who both purchase from and donate to one retail outlet. Individuals' purchasing and donating motivations were examined using the hedonic/utilitarian framework. Eighteen participants who had donated to and purchased second-hand clothing from a charitable organization's thrift store were purposively selected and interviewed. Themes that emerged during data analysis were used to categorize the participants. The participants' responses suggested that hedonic and utilitarian motives drove both donation and purchase behavior. Academic and practical implications are presented.

  • Background: This retrospective study analyzed the causes of failure in the management process from the identification of brain-dead potential organ donors to actual donation in Korea over the past 5 years. Methods: Data of 8,120 potential brain deaths reported to the Korea Organ Donation Agency were used, including information received at the time of reporting, donation suitability evaluation performed by the coordinator after the report, and data obtained from interviews of hospital medical staff and the donor's family. Results: From January 2012 to December 2016, the total number of brain-dead potential organ donors in Korea was 8,120, of which 2,348 (28.9%) underwent organ procurement surgery with designated recipients. While the number of transplant donors has increased over time, the ratio of transplant donors to medically suitable brain-dead donors has decreased. The common causes of donation failure included donation refusal (27.6%), non-brain death (15.5%), and incompatible donation (11.6%); 104 potential donors (7.8%) were unable to donate their organs because they were not pronounced brain dead. Conclusion: The rate of successful organ donation may be increased by analyzing the major causes of failure in the brain-dead organ donation management process and engaging in various efforts to prevent such failures.

  • Purpose: This study aims to identify the effect of university students' intention to donate hematopoietic stem cells based on the theory of planned behavior. Methods: The subjects include university students who visited the campaign for the registration of hematopoietic stem cell donation held at H university on September 28, 2019 and October 2, 2019. Results: The intention to register for hematopoietic stem cell donation and empirical attitude (r=.72, p<.001), instrumental attitude (r=.64, p<.001), directive norm (r=.53, p<.001), technical norms (r=.55, p<.001) and self-efficacy (r=.86, p<.001) showed a significant positive correlation. The multiple regression analysis revealed that self-efficacy (β=.66) and empirical attitude (β=.23) were the most influential factors. Conclusion: Educational and promotional programs to increase the intention to register for hematopoietic stem cell donation need to be developed to help increase students' self-efficacy and help them develop a positive experiential attitude. In addition, further research is needed to determine whether the intention to register in hematopoietic stem cell donation among university students can lead to actual registration and donation after registration.

  • In this paper, we propose a software education ecosystem model for activating software education donation. First, in order to investigate current software education donation status, we will conduct a survey on software education donors and analyze the results. 39.6% of the software education donors responded that they were introduced to software education donation activities through their affiliated companies, institutions, organizations. Therefore, it can be seen that the promotion of software education donation activities is the most effective by promoting through software companies, organizations, and organizations and using human networks. The subjects of software education donation activities were the highest at middle school students (73.9%), and the contents of software education donations were the highest at programming practice (63.3%). Donors' satisfaction with software education donation activities was 57.9%. The social support for SW education donors was in the order of software education contents support, activity cost support, equipment and network support, and place sponsorship. 87.4% of donors were willing to continue to donate to software education. The reason why they did not want to continue donating software education was 'lack of personal time' (65.4%). Therefore, it is necessary to develop appropriate social support and incentive system to overcome shortage of personal time in order to activate software education contribution. In order to promote sustainable software education donations, it is essential to establish a virtuous circle of software education donation ecosystem based on cooperation and solidarity with various organizations such as government, corporations, institutions, universities and civil society organizations.

  • The objectives of this study were: (1) to identify differences in consumer attitudes and intentions to recycle fashion products using three types of recycling (including resale, reform, and donation), and (2) to examine the moderating effects of consumer prosocialness on the relationships between attitude and intention for each type of fashion product recycling. Men and women aged 20 years and over were recruited from a marketing research firm panel. Participants completed an online questionnaire incorporating measures for attitudes and intentions to resale, reform, and donate fashion products, prosocialness, frequency of purchasing fashion products, monthly amount of spending on fashion products, and demographic information. Data from 224 participants were analyzed using SPSS 25.0 and PROCESS macro. The results demonstrated that consumers had significantly different attitudes and intentions depending on type of fashion product recycling. Consumers had more positive attitudes toward donation compared to resale and reform types of recycling. Consumer intentions toward resale and donation were significantly higher than their intention to reform. Furthermore, this study confirmed that the attitude-intention gap in fashion product recycling can be explained by individual prosocialness. The moderating effects of prosocialness on the associations between attitude and intention to recycle were significant. The implications of increasing consumers' behavior intention to recycle fashion products was discussed and future research suggestions are provided.

With the 10 years data in Korea Welfare Panel and Panal logit analysis, the analysis has done on the basis of household and sampled 134,500 data. The results of this research as follows: First, in demographic variables, women revealed as they donate more than men(${\beta}=.223$, p<.05). And the more the age grows, the less they donate or volunteer periodically(${\beta}=-.009$, p<.001). Second, in working conditions, paid workers showed less donate behavior than self-employment workers and economically inactive population(${\beta}=-.578$, p<.001). Third, Self-esteem(${\beta}=1.673$, p<.001)and Life satisfaction(${\beta}=1.01$, p<.001) showed significant effect on donate behavior. Lastly, scholarship of father(${\beta}=.211$, p<.001) revealed as significant on donate behavior. However, scholarship of mother did not showed significant effect. Also, the research had some limitations. First, the precision of the variables were not tested. Second, some variables to analyze were not in the data. Therefore, proper considerations on testing the precision of the variables and the method for measuring the missed variables are needed.

  • Purpose Recently, Internet personal broadcasting has been widely spreaded as a new media type by replacing traditional legacy media such as TV. Considering this phenomenon, this study aims to explore the effect of Aristoteles' persuasion factors on Internet personal broadcasting from a rhetorical view. The reason why users watch the Internet personal broadcasting is that they are persuaded by creator's expertness, empathy, or content usefulness. These factors can be regarded as persuasion factors. Therefore, with Aristoteles' rhetorical persuasion factors composed of ethos, pathos, and logos, this paper tries to investigate how persuasion factors affect user's emotional\ attachment and voluntary donation intention. Design/methodology/approach This paper proposes a model of the relationships among three rhetorical factors, user's emotional attachment, and donation intention. Specifically, ethos is regarded as creator's expertness and trustworthiness, and pathos refers to creator's empathy and social interaction. Last, logos refers to content usefulness and credibility. For testing a hypothetical research model, this study collected 468 surveys and empirically tested hypotheses using a structural equation model. Findings This study investigated how rhetorical factors (ethos, pathos, and logos) and emotional attachment further influence user's donation intention. The findings suggest that rhetorical factors of ethos and pathos enhances emotional attachment, followed by donation intention. Contrary to an expectation, however, logos was not significantly related to emotional attachment. Creators of Internet personal media and MCN providers should focus on the different effects of rhetorical factors and pay attention to the role of emotional attachment to encourage user donation.

  • With the rapid growth of the mobile application market, mobile donation applications have emerged as a new type of application that enables users to donate without actual payments. To date, limited research has been conducted to provide guidelines on how to design new types of mobile donation applications. Using cause-related marketing theory as theoretical framework, this study aims to identify the features of mobile donation applications that increase the intention of users to use such applications. To achieve this goal, we conducted two experiments. The results of an ANOVA test in the first experiment showed that indirect mobile donation applications (i.e., applications without actual payment) have a stronger positive effect on perceived effectiveness and cause involvement than direct mobile donation applications (i.e., applications with actual payment). In addition, perceived effectiveness and cause involvement yield positive effects on the intention to use mobile donation applications. The results of the second experiment showed that indirect mobile donation applications with utilitarian functions have a greater positive effect on perceived effectiveness and cause involvement than mobile donation applications with hedonic functions. These results contribute to mobile application and donation research as well as provide guidelines for practitioners on the design of mobile donation applications.

For data analysis, SPSS 17.0 was used, and for the specific analysis method frequency analysis to understand general characteristics of the participants. In addition, examination on T-test and ANOVA analysis were conducted after analyzing the factors for participants' consciousness on organ donation, and logistic regression analysis for understanding of relations between participants' will to donate organs and general characteristics. The results of this study are summarized as follows; First, among the participants, those who have heard about organ donations were 71.6%. Second, the factors that general characteristics influence on the attitudes towards organ donation include gender, chronic diseases or incurable diseases in the respondents or their family, religion, acceptive attitude factor, exclusive attitude factor and positive attitude factor towards organ donation. Based on the results, in order to raise people's consciousness on organ donation and form social sympathy, more than anything else, public mass media like broadcasting is important. In addition, as organ donation centers and related institutions prepare nationwide events, we should endeavor to prepare the opportunities in various ways to converse people's consciousness on organ donation and further put organ donation into practice.
