  • Many researchers have studied component technologies with concept, methodology and implementation for partial business domain, however there are rarely researches for component classification to manage these systematically. In this paper, we suggest a component classification model, which can make component reusability higher and can derive higher productivity of software development. We take four focuses generalization, abstraction, technology and size. The generalization means which category a component belongs to. The abstraction means how specific a component encapsulates its inside. The technology means which platform for hardware environment a component can be plugged in. The size means the physical component volume.

  • Defense software has short of interoperability due to the vertical development method which is dependent heavily on application area and development environments. In order to prevent from lack of reusability and operability in application domain software development technology needs component concept and makes shift to the trend of domestic software component industry. This paper covers the research topics such as domain analysis and component architecture to improve and extend reusability and inter-operability for defense information system by two approaches, i.e. CBW (Command Based Work flow) analysis and UML components identification.

  • The input energy to a base-isolated (BI) building during an earthquake is considered and formulated in the frequency domain. The frequency-domain approach for input energy computation has some notable advantages over the conventional time-domain approach. Sensitivities of the input energy to the BI building are derived with respect to uncertain parameters in the base-isolation system. It is demonstrated that the input energy can be of a compact form via the frequency integration of the product between the input component (Fourier amplitude spectrum of acceleration) and the structural model component (so-called energy transfer function). With the help of this compact form, it is shown that the formulation of earthquake input energy in the frequency domain is essential for deriving the sensitivities of the input energy to the BI building with respect to uncertain parameters. The sensitivity expressions provide us with information on the most unfavorable combination of the uncertain parameters which leads to the maximum energy input.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate children's conceptions about gender and the relation between gender conceptions and preference for gender related tasks. 130 children were interviewed about gender and gender related tasks. Data were analyzed with the component model of gender schema. Results indicated that children's gender schema in the attitudes domain was significantly different with age in all components but not different with sex. The gender schema in the knowledge domain was significantly different with age in within component and between component links, and with sex in the gender label-component and within component links. The difference between the gender inhibitory score and gender facilitative score was significantly different with age, sex, and children's gender schema. The findings that gender schema influenced the children's preferences for gender related tasks suggests a theoretical rationale of gender schema theory.

  • Now we are following component-based software development as a solution to improve the reusability, reliability, and extensibility of the software. To support these, the developed components must be reused through component repository at software development. However, traditional centralized repositories couldn't activate component markets since not only the number of users were restricted but also most of the provided components were those on clients like user interface and so on. Recently, a lot of server-side components, reused in a specific domain, have appeared thanks to the development of both Internet technology and component technology such as EJB, DCOM, etc. Therefore, component repositories, based on domain information, classify and provide components and must offer web-based service for many users to use it stably. This study introduces the implementation of a component repository based on J2EE application model. It provides application developers with the service to search and extract appropriate components, and supplies them reliable services in web environment.

  • The DevSR (DosSR) two-component system, which is a major regulatory system involved in oxygen sensing in mycobacteria, plays an important role in hypoxic induction of many genes in mycobacteria. We demonstrated that overexpression of the kinase domain of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) PknB inhibited transcriptional activity of the DevR response regulator in Mycobacterium smegmatis and that this inhibitory effect was exerted through phosphorylation of DevR on Thr180 within its DNA-binding domain. Moreover, the purified kinase domain of Mtb PknB significantly phosphorylated RegX3, NarL, KdpE, TrcR, DosR, and MtrA response regulators of Mtb that contain the Thr residues corresponding to Thr180 of DevR in their DNA-binding domains, implying that transcriptional activities of these response regulators might also be inhibited when the kinase domain of PknB is overexpressed.

  • Many indexing methods were proposed so that process moving object efficiently. Among them, indexing methods like the 3D R-tree treat temporal and spatial domain as the same. Actually, however. both domain had better process separately because of difference in character and unit. Especially in this paper we deal with limited region such as indoor environment since spatial domain is limited but temporal domain is grown. In this paper we present a novel indexing structure, namely STS-tree(Separation of Time and Space tree). based on limited region. STS-tree is a hybrid tree structure which consists of R-tree and one-dimensional TB-tree. The R-tree component indexes static object and spatial information such as topography of the space. The TB-tree component indexes moving object and temporal information.

  • In this paper, we propose a two-level overlapping domain decomposition preconditioner for three dimensional vector field problems posed in H(div). We introduce a new coarse component, which reduces the computational complexity, associated with the coarse vertices. Numerical experiments are also presented.

  • The CBD(component based development) method has recently been on the rise as the main current among all fields of developing Information Systems. The developing system by building and integrating of components is encouraged in GIS sphere. Business domain which considerably identifies components occupies GIS shpere rather then any other sphere. Arithmetic function is quite needed in GIS sphere but non-arithmetic functions are also used in GIS sphere as well as in enterprise sphere. Component is characterized by ensuring the reuse of itself. The efficiency of reusing component is promoted as the component is functionally simple and is packed to a minimum. The GIS Component Extraction Method has already been presented in several studies but this study is about the GIS Component Extraction by the Affinity Analysis Method. CBD uses UML on a basis and the core of the UML is consisted of the use case and the class. The purpose of the Affinity Analysis is a study how relate between the use case and the class in a certain business domain and then the results identify the component. The Affinity Analysis is useful not only in GIS but also in every business domain and is considered to be popular as the procedure of this method is not complex at all.

  • With the urbanization in recent years, the power line interference noise in electromagnetic signal is increasing day by day, and has gradually become an unavoidable component of noises in magnetotelluric signal detection. Therefore, a kind of power line interference noise elimination method based on independent component analysis in wavelet domain for magnetotelluric signal is put forward in this paper. The method first uses wavelet decomposition to change single-channel signal into multi-channel signal, and then takes advantage of blind source separation principle of independent component analysis to eliminate power line interference noise. There is no need to choose the layer number of wavelet decomposition and the wavelet base of wavelet decomposition according to the observed signal. On the treatment effect, it is better than the previous power line interference removal method based on independent component analysis. Through the de-noising processing to actual magnetotelluric measuring data, it is shown that this method makes both the apparent resistivity curve near 50 Hz and the phase curve near 50 Hz become smoother and steadier than before processing, i.e., it effectively eliminates the power line interference noise.
