생물다양성 증진을 위한 유휴농경지의 습지 복원 적지선정에 관한 연구 - 군포시 반월천 유역 사례로 - (Wetland Restoration Site Selection for Promoting Biodiversity in Abandoned Rice Paddy Fields - Focusing on Gounpo Ban-wol Stream Watershed -)

  • The increase of rice productivity, the decrease of rice demand, aging farmers, and the market-opening of rice along with the domestic and international conditions changes have been led to the increase of the abandoned rice paddy fields. Such abandoned rice paddy fields have been left in many areas and most of them have become wetlands. The purpose of this study is methodology of selection to the wetland for development in the abandoned rice paddy fields along with surroundings. The selection of habitat suitability index assessment study to conservation and restoration was done through hydrology, wild animals habitation, wetland vegetation, outside disturbance, and natural purification capacity assessment. In addition, the same method was applied to assessment items and standards for both the restoration site selection and the type of restoration. Both assessment items and standards were applied to the sites, drawn on the maps, and overlayer for the comprehensive map, and then the wetland suitability index was applied to the suitable site. The development technique was applied to 10 sites near the Banwol Stream watershed in Gunpo, Gyeonggi province. The selection of conservation, restoration, and the optimal sites can lead to not only the biodiveristy increase in agricultural or semi natural areas but also to the establishment of ecological networks in national level.

The Variation in the Species Composition of the Soil Seed Bank in the Natural Flood Plain Vegetation along the Urban Reach of Han River, South Korea

  • We described the above-ground plant species composition and measured a range of soil physico-chemical properties and the composition and size of the soil seed bank in the remnant natural vegetations on the flood plains of the Han River within Seoul, South Korea. We used analysis of variance and multivariate analyses to analyse the data and S${\o}$rensen's similarity index to compare the composition of the vegetation and seed banks. The soils were circum-neutral and composed of mainly sand and silt fractions with a very limited clay component; a gradient based on sand/clay proportions was identified. The soil seed banks varied markedly between- and within-sites and had much greater species diversity than the above-ground vegetation. Two of the major dominants in the vegetation (Miscanthus saccariflorus and Phragmites australis) were found at very low densities in the seed bank. The site differences appeared to be correlated with the sand-clay gradient, suggesting that the soil properties differentially affected seed inputs into the soil, or that the processes than controlled sediment deposition during floods was also important in differentially affecting seed deposition. Lastly, there was relatively little similarity between the vegetation, dominated mainly by perennials, and the seed bank which contained a relatively large proportion of annuals and biennials. This result suggests that after disturbance caused by flooding there is the potential for many other species to colonize. This may impinge on the regeneration potential of the sites and cause concern for the future conservation of these important remnants of natural vegetation.

한국어판 피츠버그 수면의 질 지수(PSQI-K) 도구의 신뢰도와 타당도 검증 (The Reliability and Validity Testing of Korean Version of the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index)

  • 본 연구는 한국어판 피츠버그 수면의 질 지수(PSQI-K) 도구의 신뢰도와 타당도를 검증하고 수면장애군의 최적 절단점을 탐색하기 위한 목적으로 수행되었다. 초기 성인 64명을 대상으로 PSQI-K와 Fitbit charge 3TM을 이용하여 주관적 수면의 질과 수면양상을 측정하였다. 도구의 신뢰도는 Cronbach's alpha coefficient 계수로, 도구의 타당도는 요인분석 및 PSQI-K 점수와 Fitbit tracker 간의 Spearman's rho 상관계수로 분석하였다. 연구결과, PSQI-K 점수의 Cronbach's alpha coefficient는 0.69였고, PSQI-K와 Fitbit tracker의 각 지표값과의 correlation은 0.67 이상으로 유의하였다. 수면장애군 구분을 위한 절단점은 ≥6일 때 민감도 0.93, 특이도 0.84로 가장 적합하였다. PSQI-K는 초기 성인의 수면장애군을 스크리닝함에 있어서 신뢰도와 타당도가 양호한 도구임이 확인되었다.

울릉도의 귀화식물에 관한 연구 (The Study of Naturalized Plants in Ulleungdo)

  • 울릉도 식물상의 참고문헌과 야외조사를 통해 확인된 귀화식물은 21과 49속 63종 2변종 65분류군이며, 국화과 27.7%, 벼과, 콩과, 마디풀과 각각 7.7%로 확인되었다. 본 연구를 통하여 좀소리쟁이, 노랑토끼풀, 덩이괭이밥, 유럽전호, 둥근잎나팔꽃, 큰금계국, 별꽃아재비, 몬트부레치아, 큰김의틸 총 9종이 추가 확인되었다. 1년생 초본류는 36.9%이고, 유럽 원산지가 40.0%를 차지하였다. 울릉도의 도시화지수는 22.0이며, 각각의 참고문헌에 의하면 귀화율은 증가하고 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 울릉도의 생태계 교란 야생식물로는 돼지풀이 생육하고 있었다. 귀화식물의 관리방안으로는 원예용 식물 유입의 최소화 및 확산 방지와 절개지 복구용으로 자생종을 활용하여 천이를 유도하는 것이 필요하다.

혼합 효율 향상을 위한 마이크로 동적 믹서의 형상최적화 (Shape Optimization of an Active Micro-Mixer for Improving Mixing Efficiency)

  • An active micro-mixer, which was composed of an oscillating micro-stirrer in the microchannel to provide rapid, effective mixing at high flow, rates was analyzed. The effects of molecular diffusion and disturbance by the stirrer were considered with regard to two types of mixer models: the simple straight microchannel and microchannel with an oscillating stirrer. Two types of mixer models were studied by analyzing mixing behaviors such as their interaction after the stirrer. The mixing was calculated by Lattice Boltzmann methods using the D2Q9 model. In this study, the time-averaged mixing index formula was used to estimate the mixing performance of time-dependent flow. The mixing indices of the two models compared. From the results, it was found that the mixer with an oscillating stirrer was much more enhanced and stabilized. Therefore, an optimum design for a dynamic micro-mixer with an oscillating stirrer was performed using Taguchi method in order to obtain a robust solution. The design parameters were established as the frequency, the length and the angle of the stirrer and the optimal values were determined to be 2, 0.8D and ${\pm}75^{\circ}$, respectively. It was found that the mixing index of the optimal design increased 80.72% compared with that of the original design.

능동형 미소혼합기의 근사최적화 (Approximate Optimization of an Active Micro-Mixer)

The design parameters were established as the frequency, the length and the angle of the stirrer. The optimal values were obtained as 1.0346, 0.66D and $\pm45^{\circ}$, respectively. It was found that the mixing index of the optimal design increased by 88.72% compared with that of the original design.

Development of multi-dimensional body image scale for malaysian female adolescents

  • The present study was conducted to develop a Multi-dimensional Body Image Scale for Malaysian female adolescents. Data were collected among 328 female adolescents from a secondary school in Kuantan district, state of Pahang, Malaysia by using a self-administered questionnaire and anthropometric measurements. The self-administered questionnaire comprised multiple measures of body image, Eating Attitude Test (EAT-26; Gamer & Garfinkel, 1979) and Rosenberg Self-esteem Inventory (Rosenberg, 1965). The 152 items from selected multiple measures of body image were examined through factor analysis and for internal consistency. Correlations between Multi-dimensional Body Image Scale and body mass index (BMI), risk of eating disorders and self-esteem were assessed for construct validity. A seven factor model of a 62-item Multi-dimensional Body Image Scale for Malaysian female adolescents with construct validity and good internal consistency was developed. The scale encompasses 1) preoccupation with thinness and dieting behavior, 2) appearance and body satisfaction, 3) body importance, 4) muscle increasing behavior, 5) extreme dieting behavior, 6) appearance importance, and 7) perception of size and shape dimensions. Besides, a multidimensional body image composite score was proposed to screen negative body image risk in female adolescents. The result found body image was correlated with BMI, risk of eating disorders and self-esteem in female adolescents. In short, the present study supports a multi-dimensional concept for body image and provides a new insight into its multi-dimensionality in Malaysian female adolescents with preliminary validity and reliability of the scale. The Multi-dimensional Body Image Scale can be used to identify female adolescents who are potentially at risk of developing body image disturbance through future intervention programs.

한강 수변구역의 식물상 및 식생변화에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Flora and Vegetation Changes in the Riparian Zones of Han River Watershed)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate changes in vegetation and flora after five years through field surveys data with the Han Gang Watershed Management Committee (2013) data in order to observe natural vegetation changes in the riparian zone of Han River watershed. As a result, the flora of the riparian zone in 2012 were listed total 231 taxa, 66 families, 158 genus, 207 species, 23 varieties, and 1 forms, and in 2017, a total 247 taxa, 74 families, 174 genus, 218 species, 27 varieties, and 2 forms were identified. The number of rare plants decreased from 4 taxa in 2012 to 2 taxa in total in 2017, and the number of endemic plants increased from 1 taxa to 3 taxa. The number of specific plants by floral region decreased from 21 taxa (9.1% of all 231 taxa of flora) in 2012 to 16 taxa (6.5% of all 247 taxa of flora) in 2017. The total number of naturalized plants is analyzed to increase from 35 taxa, a naturalization rate of 15.15% (all 231 taxa of flora) and urbanization index of 11.2% (all 312 taxa of naturalized plants) in 2012 to 44 taxa a naturalization rate of 17.8% (all 231 taxa of flora) and urbanization index of 14.1%(all 312 taxa of naturalized plants) in 2017. The ecosystem disturbance species showed an increase in both number of species and cover degree grades, indicating that the riparian zone changed in a negative direction.

The Effects of Watching a Virtual Reality (VR) Forest Video on Stress Reduction in Adults

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effects of watching a virtual reality (VR) forest video on stress reduction in adults. Experiments were performed in an artificial climate chamber where temperature, humidity and illumination were controlled. To cause stress in subjects, the subjects were asked to multiply two digit numbers by one digit numbers for two minutes. The subjects then watched a VR forest video for five minutes. During the experiment, the heart rate variability (HRV) and heart rate (HR) of subjects were continuously measured for evaluating their physiological state. After measuring the baseline and watching a VR forest video, their psychological state was evaluated using the profile of mood state (POMS), semantic differential (SD) method, and positive affect and negative affect schedule (PANAS). The results of physiological evaluation after watching a VR forest video showed a decrease in the stress index and HR, an increase in the activity of the parasympathetic nervous system, and the standard deviation of normal to normal RR intervals (SDNN). The results of psychological assessment confirmed that watching a VR forest video induced "comfort", "natural", and "soothed" feelings in subjects. In addition, watching a VR forest video decreased "tension-anxiety (T-A)", "depression-dejection (D)", "anger-hostility (A-H)", "fatigue (F)", "total mood disturbance (TMD)", and increased "vigor (V)" compared to the base line, and decreased "negative affect" and increased "positive affect." These results indicate that watching a VR forest video decreases adults' stress index, stabilizes physiological state, and has a positive impact on psychological state. The findings of this study can serve as a basis for providing forest welfare services to people in the blind spots of forest welfare, and can lay a foundation for the adoption of VR, one of the technologies of the fourth industrial revolution in forestry.

코골이와 폐쇄성수면무호흡증 환자에서 무호흡 심도에 따른 구강내 장치의 치료효과 및 환자의 적응도에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Efficacy and Compliance of Oral Appliances according to the Severity of Apnea in the Treatment of Snoring and Obstructive Sleep Apnea)

  • The purpose of this Study was to examine the efficacy and compliance of a mandibular advancement device(MAD) according to the severity of sleep apnea in the snorers and obstructive sleep apnea patients. Fifty-four patients (45 males, 9 females, aged 20 - 68years ) who visited Seoul National Uiversity Dental Hospital(SNUDH) to seek for the treatment of snoring and sleep apnea were classified into four groups according to the results of the nocturnal polysomnography and they were instructed to wear MAD regularly which was designed to increase the size of the upper airway by advancing the mandible. The evaluation of the efficacy and compliance of the MAD according to the severity of apnea and the duration after the usage of MAD ( 1week, 1month, 3months, 6months, 12months) was made by using quesionnaires mad in Department of Oral Medicine and Oral diagnosis, SNUDH. The obtained results were as follows : 1. All subjects results were habitual snoreres and 43 patients(79.6%) complained the loudness of snoring that can be heard out of the room. 2. Apnea index(AI) of the total subjects was mean 29.4$\pm$26.9 and respiratory disturbance index(RDI)was mean 37.6$\pm$28.0. And there was nodifference in the efficacy and the compliances of MAD according to the severity of apnea. 3. The severityi of apnea by the questionnaires significantly corresponded with the results of nocturnal polysomnography, and this fact potentiated the diagnostic value of the questionnaire. 4. after the usage of MAD, there was significant improvement in the frequency of snoring, the loudness of snoring, frequency of apnea, daytime sleepiness nad the refreshment after sleep(p<0.001) regardless of the apnea index(AI) and respiratory distrubance index(RDI). 5. The degree of the satisfaction with MAD was mean 74.4$\pm$18.4% and that of the discomfort with the MAD was 31.4$\pm$19.6%. But there was no serious complication in occlusion and temporomandibular joint with the usage of MAD and the duration of the discomfort was mean 3.3$\pm$2.2 weeks. 6. Forty-one patients(75.9%) continued the usage of MAD but thirteen patients(24.1%) stopped the use of MAD because of the discomforts and insufficient results with it.
