본 논문에서는 MPEG-7의 EHD(Edge Histogram Descriptor)를 이용한 이미지 매칭기법의 취약점을 보이고 이미지 정규화를 이용해 이를 개선하는 방법을 제안한다. EHD 알고리즘은 edge의 기울기 분포를 수집하여 같은 분포를 가지는 이미지를 매칭하는 기법에 사용한다. 하지만 EHD는 매칭하고자 하는 객체의 회전과 왜곡의 변화에 민감하여 오인식률이 높다. 따라서 이미지를 정규화 하여 매칭하고자 하는 이미지 내의 객체의 edge 정보를 보다 정확하게 추출하여 매칭 성능을 개선한다. 실험을 통해 왜곡과 회전으로 정규화한 EHD 알고리즘을 비교 및 분석하여 기존의 방법에 비해 크기와 회전의 변화에 강인함을 보인다.

This study presents a method to restore an optical satellite image with distortion and occlusion due to fog, haze, and clouds to one that minimizes degradation factors by referring to the same type of peripheral image. Specifically, the time and cost of re-photographing were reduced by partially occluding a region. To maintain the original image's pixel value as much as possible and to maintain restored and unrestored area continuity, a simulation restoration technique modified with the Cycle Generative Adversarial Network (CycleGAN) method was developed. The accuracy of the simulated image was analyzed by comparing CycleGAN and histogram matching, as well as the pixel value distribution, with the original image. The results show that for Site 1 (out of three sites), the root mean square error and R² of CycleGAN were 169.36 and 0.9917, respectively, showing lower errors than those for histogram matching (170.43 and 0.9896, respectively). Further, comparison of the mean and standard deviation values of images simulated by CycleGAN and histogram matching with the ground truth pixel values confirmed the CycleGAN methodology as being closer to the ground truth value. Even for the histogram distribution of the simulated images, CycleGAN was closer to the ground truth than histogram matching.

랜덤 순서로 발생된 심볼 열을 기반으로 하는 확률 분포 매칭 타입의 알고리듬들은 그 성능 기준이 바이어스된 신호에 대한 변수를 지니고 있지 않아서 바이어스된 충격성 잡음 하에서는 제한된 성능을 나타낸다. 이 논문에서는 바이어스된 충격성 잡음을 이겨내기 위한 수정된 성능기준을 제안하고, 증강된 필터구조와 랜덤 심볼 열을 사용하는 확률 분포 매칭 방법에 기초한 블라인드 알고리듬을 제안하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과로부터 제안된 성능기준에 의해 만들어진 제안된 알고리듬이 바이어스된 강한 충격성 잡음에 대해 동요됨이 없이 탁월한 수렴성능을 보였다.

본 논문에서는 다중사용자 간섭이 존재하는 M-ary TH-PPM 시스템에서 확률분포 모델에 기반하는 개선된 초광대역 Rake 수신기법이 연구되었다. Rake 수신기의 성능 향상을 위해서 다중사용자 간섭과 잡음의 혼합 분포를 유연하게 근사할 수 있는 확률모델이 필요하며, 본 연구에서는 라플라스분포와 첨두치 정합(kurtosis matching) 기법이 적용된 일반화된 정규 라플라스 모델이 고려되었다. 각 확률분포에 기반하는 Rake 수신기의 성능이 IEEE 다중 경로 페이딩 채널에서 평가되었고 종래의 Rake 수신기와 비교 되었다. 제안된 접근법은 종래의 Rake 수신기보다 더 우수한 BER 성능을 보인다.

For broadband high-data-rate power line communication with the allocated frequency bandwidth from 2 to 30 MHz on medium voltage (MV) distribution power lines, a signal coupling unit is developed. The coupling unit is composed of a coupling capacitor for coupling communication signal, a drain coil, and an impedance matching part. The coupling capacitor made of ceramic capacitor is designed for transmission property of better than 1 dB in the frequency range. The drain coil is used for preventing low frequency high voltage from junction of medium voltage power line in case that a coupling capacitor is not working properly any more. Also, using ferrite core, a novel broadband impedance matching transformer is developed. A complete coupling unit with a coupling capacitor, a drain coil, and a matching transformer is housed by polymer for good isolation and distinguishing from high voltage electric facilities. Each is fabricated and its frequency behavior is tested. Finally, complete signal couplers are equipped in a MV PLC test bed and their performance are measured. The measurement shows that the coupling capacitor works excellently.

본 논문에서는 Burr Type-X 분포하에서 stress-strength 의 신뢰도를 추정하는 데 사용되어지는 비정보적 사전분포들을 개발하는 것이다. 개발된 reference 사전분포가 first order matching 사전분포가 된다는 것이 밝혀졌으며, 또한 matching 사전분포하에서 사후분포의 타당성을 밝혔다. 소표본하에서, 고전적 포함확률들이 주여져 있다.

In this paper, we develop the noninformative priors for the common shape parameter of several inverse Gaussian distributions. Specially, we want to develop noninformative priors which satisfy certain objective criterion. The probability matching priors and reference priors of the common shape parameter will be developed. It turns out that the second order matching prior does not exist. The reference priors satisfy the first order matching criterion, but Jeffrey's prior is not the first order matching prior. We showed that the proposed reference prior matches the target coverage probabilities in a frequentist sense through simulation study, and an example based on real data is given.

It turns out that the second order matching prior matches the alternative coverage probabilities, and is the highest posterior density matching prior. Also we revealed that the derived reference prior is the second order matching prior, and Jeffreys' prior and reference prior are the same. We showed that the proposed reference prior matches very well the target coverage probabilities in a frequentist sense through simulation study, and an example based on real data is given.

In this paper, we propose a fast partial distortion algorithm using normalized dithering matching scan to get uniform distribution of partial distortion which can reduce only unnecessary computation significantly. Our algorithm is based on normalized dithering order matching scan and calibration of threshold error using LOG value for each sub-block continuously for efficient elimination of unlike candidate blocks while keeping the same prediction quality compared with the full search algorithm. Our algorithm reduces about 60% of computations for block matching error compared with conventional PDE (partial distortion elimination) algorithm without any prediction quality, and our algorithm will be useful to real-time video coding applications using MPEG-4 AVC or MPEG-2.
