수요 및 조달기간의 변동을 고려한 물류 센터의 안전재고와 서비스수준 분석 (Analysis of Safety Stock and Service Level For an Distribution Center with Variable Demand Variable Lead Time Model)

  • This research fundamentally deals with an analysis of service level for a multi-level inventory distribution system which is consisted of a central distribution center and several branches being supplied stocks from the distribution center, Under continuous review policy, the distribution center places an order for planned order quantity to an outside supplier, and the order quantity is received after a certain lead time. Also, each branch places an order for particular quantity to its distribution center, and receives the order quantity after a lead time. In most practical distribution environment, demands and lead times are generally not fixed or constant, but variable. And these variabilities make the analysis more complicated. Thus, the main objective of this research is to suggest a method to compute the service level at each depot, that is, the distribution center and each branch with variable demands and variable lead times. Further, the model will give an idea to keep the proper level of safety stocks that can attain effective or expected service level for each depot.

SCM환경에서의 물류센터의 최적 서비스 수준 결정 방법 (A study on the Method to Determine Optimal Service Level of a Distribution Center in Supply Chain Management Environment)

  • The main objective of this research is to develop a model to select the optimal input service level for a distribution center-multi branch inventory distribution system. With the continuous review policy, the distribution center places an order for specific order quantity to an outside supplier, and the order quantity is replenished after a certain lead time Also, each branch places an order for particular order quantity to the distribution center to satisfy the customer demands, and receives the replenishment after a lead time. When an out of stock condition occurs during an order cycle, a backorder is placed to the upper level to fill the unfilled demands. With these situation, variable demand and variable lead time are used for better industrial practice. Further, actual lead times with a generic lead time distribution are used in developing the control model. Under the actual lead time model, the customer service measures actually attained for the distribution center and each branch are explained as the effective customer service measures. Thus, throughout the optimal control (using computer search procedures), we can select the optimal input service levels for the distribution center and each branch to attain the effective service levels for each branch which is consistent with the goal level of service for each branch. At the same time, the entire distribution system keeps minimum inventories.

Humanitarian Relief Logistics with Time Restriction: Thai Flooding Case Study

  • Shortages and delays in a humanitarian logistics system can contribute to the pain and suffering of survivors or other affected people. Humanitarian logistics budgets should be sufficient to prevent such shortages or delays. Unlike commercial supply chain systems, the budgets for relief supply chain systems should be able to satisfy demand. This study describes a comprehensive model in an effort to satisfy the total relief demand by minimizing logistics operations costs. We herein propose a strategic model which determines the locations of distribution centers and the total inventory to be stocked for each distribution center where a flood or other catastrophe may occur. The proposed model is formulated and solved as a mixed-integer programming problem that integrates facility location and inventory decisions by considering capacity constraints and time restrictions in order to minimize the total cost of relief operations. The proposed model is then applied to a real flood case involving 47 disaster areas and 13 distribution centers in Thailand. Finally, we discuss the sensitivity analysis of the model and the managerial implications of this research.

  • 본 논문에서는 물류 중소 IT기업과 학부 프로젝트 교과목을 연계하여 기업 실무 주제인 로컬 푸드 재고관리시스템을 공동개발하고 솔루션화하는 프로젝트 중심 교육사례를 연구하였다. 기존 이론 및 텀 프로젝트 진행방식에 탈피하여 기업의 실무 프로젝트를 대상으로 기업의 실무자가 멘토로 참여하여 프로젝트 주제를 제시하고 학생들이 그 주제의 시스템을 개발하였고 기업 실무자와 토의하는 과정에서 실무적인 지식을 습득하게 유도하였다. 이러한 방식을 통하여 상호 최신기술을 공유하고 물류 비즈니스 도메인을 이해하는 기회가 되었으며 프로젝트 수행을 위해 필요한 비용, 품질, 납기에 대하여 학생 스스로 이해하고 해결해 가는 경험을 하였으며 자신감을 얻을 수 있었다. 기업은 시제품 개발을 위한 비용절감과 우수인력을 교류할 수 있는 기회가 되었다.

Re-engineering Distribution Using Web-based B2B Technology

  • The focus of Business Process Re-engineering (BPR) has been extended to inter-business process that cuts across independent companies. Combined with Supply Chain Management (SCM), inter-business process reengineering (IBPR) focuses on synchronization of business activities among trading partners to achieve performance improvements in inventory management and cycle time. This paper reviews the business process reengineering movement from the historical perspective and presents a case of inter-business process reengineering using the latest internet-based Business-to- Business (B2B) technology based on Collaborative Planning, Forecasting, and Replenishment (CPFR). The case demonstrates how CPFR technology reengineers the distribution process between Heineken USA and its distributors. As world's first implementor of web-based collaborative planning system, Heineken USA reduces cycle time from determining the customer need to delivery of the need by 50% and increases sales revenue by 10%. B2B commerce on the internet is predicted to grow from $90 billion in 1999 to $2.0 trillion in 2003. This paper provides the management with the bench-marking case on inter-business process reengineering using B2B e-commerce technology.

  • It calls for positive consideration of RFID technologies applying to the operation of the optimum VMI system for decreasing safety inventory. Based on the above-said considerations, the present author judges that the introduction of RFID into the consumer goods distribution industry is one of the important issues to be settled in the future. Conclusively, this study proposes that, for the sake of the operation of VMI system, the aforesaid problems should be positively examined and efficient methods promptly developed, so as to reinforce the competitiveness of enterprises.

  • Recently, an industrial production-distribution planning problem has been widely investigated in Supply Chain Management(SCM). One of the key issues in the current SCM research area is reverse logistics network. This study have developed a simulation model for the reverse logistics network. The simulation model analysis reverse logistics network issues such as inventory policy, manufacturing policy, transportation mode, warehouse assignment, supplier assignment. Computational experiments using commercial simulation tool ARENA show that the real problems. The model can be used to decide an appropriate production-distribution planning problem in the research area.

  • 인터넷을 통한 전자상거래가 보편화됨에 따라 다품종, 소량 생산품을 취급하는 중소 인터넷 쇼핑몰의 수가 증대되었다. 중소 인터넷 쇼핑몰은 그 특성상 다수의 재고물량을 확보할 수 있는 공간이 부족하다. 따라서 전통적인 재고 관리 방법으로 고객의 요구에 즉각적으로 반응하기 어렵다. 본 논문에서는 판매자의 판매량에 따라 공급업체가 재고량을 조절할 수 있는 VMI를 인터넷 쇼핑몰에 도입한 SOHO-VMI를 제안한다. 제안된 SOHO-VMI는 다수의 공급업자 및 판매자와 상호작용 할 수 있는 M $\times$ N 구조를 지원한다. 그리고 기존 시스템에서 사용하는 EDI 문서와 상호작용을 위해 XML/EDI를 사용하도록 제안하였다. 또한, 판매자의 물품 판매 정보 및 계절적 요인을 고려하여, 공급업체에서 물품생산량 및 유통량을 조절 할 수 있는 물류 통계 예측 알고리즘을 제안하였다.

서비사이징 활성화방안에 관한 연구 - 자동차 부품을 중심으로 - (A Study on the Revitalization of Servicizing: Focused on the Case of Car Parts)

  • Servicizing is defined 'not as to sell the products but as to sell the functions'. This study was done on the methods for revitalization as the object items of navigation & antenna among car parts. The direct door-to-door survey was done for 101 enterprises (direct-management stores) and percentage & t-test were done for statistics. The results can be summarized like followings. First, PR on servicizing is required. Second the optimized methods can be obtained by incorporating reuse & recycling distribution systems of servicizing with the existing recovery system Reuse distribution system can be constructed rationally because inventory control is being done correct1y with the periodic recovery. Finally, as for the analysis on the relative importance of main factors of servicizing, it shows that supports & providing the concrete frame of the government & local autonomous body are important.

제조업체의 VMI 시스템 도입 부담요인에 관한 탐색적 연구 (An Exploratory Study on the Slow Adoption of Vendor managed Inventory in Manufacturing Firms)

  • VMI(벤더 관리형 재고)는 소매업자에 있는 재고가 제조자나 벤더에 의해 모니터링되고 관리되는 유통채널 시스템이다. 의사결정책임을 공급사슬 위쪽으로 밀어내고 재고 보충결정을 집중화함으로써, 벤더가 전체 공급사슬이 더욱 경쟁력 있게 도와줄 수 있다. 이 연구의 목적은 한국 제조업자에 의한 VMI 수용에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 탐색하기 위한 것이다. 이 연구는 VMI를 도입하는 데에 대한 부담의 선행요인으로써 IT 준비성, 영업비, 정보공유를 제안한다. 또한 이 연구는 중소규모의 제조자들로부터 설문 결과를 수집하였다. 통계적 결과는 운영비용만이 VMI의 수용에 유의미한 영향을 미쳤다는 것을 나타내었다. 그러나 IT 준비성과 정보 공유는 운영비용에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 결국 VMI 수용에 간접적인 영향이 있었다. 결론으로 이 연구결과의 학문적, 실무적 시사점도 논의되었다.
