  • A study on a buoyancy effect by the temperature difference between a inner room air and a inflowing cool air and also by Inlet velocity can contribute greatly to enhance performance of air conditioning system, so the study on the distribution characteristics of inflowed cool air is important to analyze the cool air storage in a room. For this study, in the real-sized model room, the temperature differences between inflowing cool air and inner room air are 10, 20, $30^{\circ}C$, and the inlet velocities of inflowing cool air are 1, 2, 3m/s respectively as dynamic parameters. Also, a anemos and a vane type diffuser are used as inlet geometric conditions. Following conclusions have been obtained through this study. 1) In case of the anemos type diffuser, it is found that a dimensionless temperature profile is low and the distribution of the inflowed cool air is uniform. and also, all diffuusers have a low temperature of the inner room as increasing the inlet velocity. 2) A mixing takes place rapidly in case of the anemos type diffuser when the temperature difference is low ${\Delta}T=10^{\circ}C$ and the inletvelocity is high V=3m/s. and the mixing degree is higher with the anemos type diffuser than the vane.

  • Acoustic performance of DICT's acoustic laboratory was evaluated. As a result, background noise and inverse squre law of an anechoic room were satisfied with ISO 3745 standard value. Also, reverberation time and standard deviation of sound pressure level distribution in reverberation rooms were within maximum error limit that was ruled on ISO 3741.

  • Ozone caused the crack on the surface of a rubber article by oxidation of double bond at room temperature. Wax migrates to the surface of a rubber article and makes a physical barrier to prevent process of ozonation. We investigated change of molecular weight distribution of waxes in unfilled NR, SBR, and BR vulcanizates before and after aging at room temperature for 6 months. Migration and evaporation behaviors of wax in a rubber article at ambient conditions help understand a role of wax as an antidegradant and appearance contamination of a rubber article. The relative intensity distribution of n-alkanes of the NR specimen after the aging was shifted to higher molecular weight compared with the relative intensity distribution before the aging, while those of the SBR specimen before and after the aging did not show a big difference.

  • Sample design is studied to estimate the number of records from singing rooms. The definition of survey population, stratification, sample size and allocation of sample are discussed with using the collected real data. The validity of sample design is testified by the log data collected from online singing room which is sampled with suggested design. Estimation of the number of hitting of off-line singing room is proposed and calculated from the log data collected from sampled off-line singing rooms. The difference of online and off-line singing rooms is analyzed and the method of distribution of singing room royalty is suggested.

  • The full-scale compartment fire tests were carried out to evaluate the characteristics of fire resistance of window material under actual fire conditions. The room size used for full-scale room fire tests was 4 by 3.8 m with 2.4 m high ceiling. The windows with PVC, Aluminum and AL+Wood frame materials were established, sofa and mattress were used as fire sources. The window contained pair glasses with the air between 6 mm glasses. Temperatures at total 32 points in the room were measured to find the temperature distribution in the room fire. It is examined that thermal effects on window frame materials such as charring, distortion, melting, structural collapse, and other effects.

  • In the spatial configuration of room-to-room art museums, openings and walls are important physical factors, and openings are a medium for connecting spaces. Also, by spatially composing walls and openings, spaces can be connected visually and physically, and movements and directions may vary depending on the location or size of walls and openings. In this study, 5 museums are investigated: Sainsbury Wing in London, Gemaldegalerie In Berlin, Alte Pinakotkek in Munich, Neue Pinakothek in Munich, and Staatsgalerie Stuttgart in Stuttgart. Using DepthMap program, the characteristics of visual-spatial composition of each museum are derived by comparing the Connectivity, Visual integration, and Isovist maximum radial. From an analysis of spatial distribution, a relationship with visibility is investigated. The results of this study showed that the combination of visual axial lines affect the spatial configuration of the room-to-room museums. Depending on the location of opening, the museums can be classified as follows: 1) Museums with the 1st visual axial line and the 2nd and 3rd auxiliary visual axial lines ; 2) museums with several equal visual axial lines; and 3) museums with only center axial line.

  • In this work, Zinc ferrite nanoparticles have been prepared by various methods, conventional (ZC), mechanochemical processing (ZM) and Sol-Gel (ZS) method, to compare their structural and magnetic properties. The cation distribution obtained from XRD shows the degrees of inversions are 4%, 14.8%, and 16.4% from the normal $ZnFe_2O_4$ structure. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) confirms changes in cation distribution of $ZnFe_2O_4$ fabricated by sol-gel and mechanochemical processing. The $^{57}Fe$ M$\ddot{o}$ssbauer spectra of the samples were recorded at room temperature. The spectra exhibit a line broadening. The magnetic properties of the samples were studied by vibration sample magnetometer (VSM) at room temperature and the results show that the sample ZM has ferrimagnetic behaviour.

  • A numerical study has been performed on flow characteristics in a domestic refrigerator whose size is $540mm{\times}1,530mm{\times}680mm$, considering existence of a fan and evaporator. The flow field has been simulated with the low Reynolds number $k-\bar{\varepsilon}$ turbulent model and SIMPLE algorithm based on the finite volume method. The region of fan which makes driving force for cold air distribution was modeled as a region in which momentum sources are generated uniformly. The concept of the distributed pressure resistance was applied to describe the momentum loss from evaporator. The result showed that the rate of cold air distribution into freezing room and cold storage room was almost 7 : 3.

  • Available daylight in inside offers comfortable view environment, and psychological and physical advantages to people in the room. But, it has a problem of an excessive direct sunlight. This study analyzed daylight distribution characteristic by roller shade systems with a Mock-up test. With three 1/2 Scale Mock-up rooms, we performed a test of daylight distribution performance in different shade height of each room through the different height of roller shade. systems. This research will be used as a fundamental study for automated roller shade systems.

  • Mechanical behavior of a fuel stack was studied using an orthotropic material model. The fuel stack is essentially composed of a bipolar plate (BP), a gasket, an end plate, a membrane electrolyte assembly (MEA), and a gas diffusion layer (GDL). Each component is fastened with a suitable pressure. It is important to maintain a suitable contact pressure distribution of BP, because it influences the power efficiency of the fuel cell stack. When it is exposed to high temperature, its behavior must be stable. Hence, we performed stress analysis at high temperature as well as at room temperature. At high temperature, the contact pressure distribution becomes poor. Many patents have shown that using an elastomer can overcome this phenomena. Its effect was also studied. By using an elastomer, we found a good contact pressure distribution at high temperature as well as at room temperature.
