  • Analysis of radiation heating system for producing 60" size PDP panels was carried out using $RADCAD^{TM}$ software. Optimum arrangement of infrared heating elements was found to obtain uniform temperature distribution in PDP panel during heating. Heating capacity of each heater was determined to obtain an appropriate maximum panel temperature. Parametric study to find the effect of design parameters such as the thermophysical and optical properties of glass and cooling system was carried out. As a reference system, about 35 kW heating capacity was chosen to obtain about 800 K maximum panel temperature after 30 minute heating. The maximum temperature difference in panel was below 20 K. The maximum/minimum and its difference in the panel were very sensitive to the variation of the emissivity of glass and cooling block.

Intelligent Load Distribution of Two Cooperating Robots for Transporting of Large Flat Panel Displays

  • This paper proposes a method for the intelligent load distribution of two cooperating robots(TCRs) using fuzzy logic. The proposed scheme requires the knowledge of the robots' dynamics, which in turn depend upon the characteristics of large flat panel displays(LFPDs) carried by the TCRs. However, the dynamic properties of the LFPD are not known exactly, so that the dynamics of the robots, and hence the required Joint torque, must be calculated for nominal set of the LFPD characteristics. The force of the TCRs is an important factor in carrying the LFPD. It is divided into external force and internal force. In general, the effects of the internal force of the TCRs are not considered in performing the load distribution in terms of optimal time, but they are essential in optimal trajectory planning; if they are not taken into consideration, the optimal scheme is no longer fitting. To alleviate this deficiency, we present an algorithm for finding the internal-force (actors for the TCRs in terms of optimal time. The effectiveness of the proposed system is demonstrated by computer simulations using two three-joint planner robot manipulators.

  • With the fast growing number of skyscrapers and large ultrahigh apartment complexes, the concerns on fire caused by electricity also grow. Among about 30,000 fires recorded annually, roughly one third of them are hewn to be caused by electricity. If one of such high and densely populated buildings or apartments catches a fire, the consequence can potentially be quite catastrophic. However, with the rapid development of the techniques in the fields of communications and computers, electric power distribution systems for such buildings and apartments have been largely digitalized in recent years. More detailed informations on the operating status are now available, which enables more sophisticated monitoring and early detection of potential fire caused by electricity. In this paper, we present an inference technique that can be used as one of the basic techniques in building intelligent distribution panel systems that can effectively monitor, prevent and detect the occurrence of fire caused by electricity. The technique can accommodate production rules in linguistic expressions on high abstraction levels. Fire finding strategies can be easily modified to provide more effective countermeasures. Simulation results show that inference capabilities and thus the capability of fire monitoring in power distribution panel systems can be significantly enhanced with our approach.

  • In this paper, we consider the panel data regression model in which the disturbances have nested error component. We derive a Lagrange Multiplier(LM) test which is jointly testing for the presence of random individual effects and nested effects under the normality assumption of the disturbances. This test extends the earlier work of Breusch and Pagan(1980) and Baltagi and Li(1991). Further, it is shown that this LM test has the same asymptotic distribution without normality assumption of the disturbances.

광탄성 4단계 위상이동법을 이용한 TV유리패널의 등색프린지 분포측정 (Measurement of Isochromatic Fringe Distribution of a TV Glass Panel by Use of Photoelastic 4-step Phase Shifting Method)

  • 본 연구에서는 TV 유리패널의 등색프린지 분포를 광탄성 4단계 위상이동법에 의하여 측정한 실험결과를 제시하였다. 재래식 광탄성법에서는 등색 프린지 차수를 각각의 점에 대해서 수작업으로 측정한다. 4단계 위상이동법을 이용하기 위하여, 원형편광기 요소들은 등색프린지분포가 측정되는 지점 혹은 선상을 따라 등경각 방향에 일치시켜야 한다. 4단계 위상이동법은 원형편광기의 검광판을 $0^{\circ},\;45^{\circ},\;90^{\circ}$$135^{\circ}$ 회전시켜 얻은 4개의 영상을 이용한다. 4단계 위상이동법을 적용하기 위해서는 등경각이 측정하고자 하는 지점이나 선상에 일치하도록 편광기 요소를 정렬시켜야 한다. 4단계 위상이동법으로부터 얻은 실험결과는 세나르몽보간법에 의해 측정한 값과 비교한 결과 서로 잘 일치하였다. 또한, TV 유리패널의 열처리 전 후에 등색프린지 분포를 비교하였다. 측정 결과, TV 유리패널의 열처리 전 후의 등색프린지 차수는 약 2배정도 차이가 나타났다.

패널 1차 자기회귀과정들의 동질성 검정 통계량 비교 (Comparison between homogeneity test statistics for panel AR(1) model)

  • 패널 시계열 자료를 소개하고 패널 1차 자기회귀 모형을 고려하였다. 패널 1차 자기회귀 모형의 동질성 검정을 위한 검정 통계량으로 Rao 통계량과 Wald 통계량을 제안하고, 그 극한분포를 제시하였다. 모의실험을 통해 패널의 수가 작을 때에도 패널의 수가 많을 때와 마찬가지로 두 검정 통계량의 분포가 카이제곱분포를 따르는 것을 확인하였으며, 패널의 수가 작을 때 Rao 통계량이 Wald 통계량 보다 더 우수한 검정력을 가짐을 모의실험을 통해 확인하였다. 시도별 월별 경제활동인구수 자료를 패널 1차 자기회귀 모형으로 적합하여 동질성 검정을 수행한 결과 동질성을 만족하였다. 동질성 검정을 만족한 자료를 시점별 평균을 이용하여 종합하고 이를 1차 자기회귀모형으로 적합하였다. 각각의 시도별로 적합한 모형과 시점별 평균을 이용하여 적합한 모형의 예측력을 비교한 결과 동질성 검정을 통과한 패널 1차 자기회귀모형의 경우 자료를 종합하여 적합한 모형의 예측력이 더 우수함을 확인하였다.

  • 본 연구에서는 평면변형을 가정할 수 있는 부품을 대상으로 하여 성형에너지 최소화 기법을 사용하여 계산속도가 빠르고, 설계된 금형의 CAD 데이터로부터 직접 변 형해석이 가능하며 금형 설계자들이 용이하게 사용할 수 있는 2차원적인 해석을 연구 하였다.

  • In these days, demand of a LCD monitor is remarkably increasing with development of the LCD technology. However, there are thermal problems for improvement of efficiency for the LCD monitor. Thus, this research analyzed thermal problems such as convection and conduction heat transfer characteristics in the LCD monitor using an infrared (IR) camera. Also, the results of the outer side of the front LCD panel using the IR camera have been compared with the results of the inner side of the front panel using T-type thermocouples. The equations have been derived for the temperature distribution of the inner side of the front LCD panel by a multiple regression method including variables for ambient temperature, humidity and temperature differences between the front and back panels of the LCD monitor.

An improved Rankine source panel method for three dimensional water wave problems

  • An improved three dimensional Rankine source method is developed to solve numerically water wave problems in time domain. The free surface and body surface are both represented by continuous panels rather than a discretization by isolated points. The integral of Rankine source 1/r on free surface panel is calculated analytically instead of numerical approximation. Due to the exact algorithm of Rankine source integral applied on the free surface and body surface, a space increment free surface source distribution method is developed and much smaller amount of source panels are required to cover the fluid domain surface than other numerical approximation methods. The proposed method shows a higher accuracy and efficiency compared to other numerical methods for various water wave problems.
