The purpose of this thesis is to develop and introduce Add-in program which we can systematically, visually and dynamically study discrete probability distribution of binomial distribution, poisson distribution and hypergeometric distribution, and continuous probability distribution of normal distribution, exponential distribution, and the definition and characteristics of t distribution, F distribution and ${\chi}^2$ distribution to be driven from normal distribution, and graphs, the computation process of probability by using VBA which is the device of Excel.

The purpose of this study is to find suitable probability distribution function of complex distribution data like multimodal. Normal distribution is broadly used to assume probability distribution function. However, complex distribution data like multimodal are very hard to be estimated by using normal distribution function only, and there might be errors when other distribution functions including normal distribution function are used. In this study, we experimented to find fit probability distribution function in multimodal area, by using AIS(Automatic Identification System) observation data gathered in Mokpo port for a year of 2013. By using chi-squared statistic, gaussian mixture model(GMM) is the fittest model rather than other distribution functions, such as extreme value, generalized extreme value, logistic, and normal distribution. GMM was found to the fit model regard to multimodal data of maritime traffic flow distribution. Probability density function for collision probability and traffic flow distribution will be calculated much precisely in the future.

We introduce the standard two-sided power normal distribution and consider the relation between the probability in standard two-sided power distribution and the probability in standard two-sided power normal distribution and obtain the even moment of the special two-sided power normal distribution including the cases considered by Gupta and Nadarajah(2004)

Purpose - The purpose of this study is to explore, examine, and analyze Journal of Distribution Science and its articles based on five key factors of journal selection process by Thompson and to provide foundations for further knowledge creation and theory building in the areas of distribution and distribution science. Research design, data, methodology - This study used an exploratory case study method to engage article analysis and reviews of Journal of Distribution Science. Thompson's five journal selection factors were used as criteria for the journal and article analyses and review. Results - Journal of Distribution Science is currently meeting or at least in the progress of meeting the following factors: timeliness of publication, international editorial convention, international diversity, and citation analysis. However, JDS is short of meeting the factor of editorial content. The research topics were not new, emerging, and/or distinctive, and they were not directly associated with specific region or country other than Korea. Conclusions - The findings from this study could lead the field of distribution to reexamine the core knowledge, to reestablish the fundamental concepts and principles, to formulate and propose academically and practically sound research methods, and to develop and focus on unique research topics in the area of distribution.

Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to analyze and examine the issues that are directly associated with the United States COVID-19 vaccine distribution and its strategies so that other countries may learn from it and develop sound distribution strategies. Research design, data and methodology: This paper has applied both historical and narrative models to review, identify, and analyze existing literatures to assess the United States' vaccine distribution strategy. Results: Distribution strategy developed by the United States seems to have focused heavily on the basic tenets of physical distribution, i.e., transportation, warehousing, inventory, and large-venue mass-vaccination sites, and the strategy seems to have been successful when looking only at the physical tenets of distribution. However, the analysis indicates that the distribution strategy has not either focused on or included the major activities of distribution, such as inward and outward communication, information, and customer satisfaction. Conclusions: The countries that are currently developing or implementing COVID-19 vaccine distribution strategy should review and learn from the United States' vaccine distribution strategy and its implementation. The countries should include and address all the activities of distribution, including inward and outward communication, information, and customer satisfaction to achieve their vaccination goals, minimize confusion, reduce wasting of doses and vaccine desserts, and improve vaccination rates.

For an inverse double Weibull distribution which is symmetric about zero, we obtain distribution and moment of ratio of independent inverse double Weibull variables, and also obtain the cumulative distribution function and moment of a skew-symmetric inverse double Weibull distribution. And we introduce a skew-symmetric inverse double Weibull generated by a double Weibull distribution.

In this paper, I was applied the life distribution following linear failure rate distribution, Lindley distribution and Burr-Hatke exponential distribution extensively used in the arena of software reliability and were associated the reliability possessions of the software using the nonhomogeneous Poisson process with finite failure. Furthermore, the average value functions of the life distribution are non-increasing form. Case of the linear failure rate distribution (exponential distribution) than other models, the smaller the estimated value estimation error in comparison with the true value. In terms of accuracy, since Burr-Hatke exponential distribution and exponential distribution model in the linear failure rate distribution have small mean square error values, Burr-Hatke exponential distribution and exponential distribution models were stared as the well-organized model. Also, the linear failure rate distribution (exponential distribution) and Burr-Hatke exponential distribution model, which can be viewed as an effectual model in terms of goodness-of-fit because the larger assessed value of the coefficient of determination than other models. Through this study, software workers can use the design of mean square error, mean value function as a elementary recommendation for discovering software failures.

This paper addresses capacity expansion planning model of distribution center under usability of public distribution center. For discrete and finite time periods, demands for distribution center increase dynamically. The capacity expansion planning is to determine the capacity expansion size of private distribution center and usage size of public distribution center for each period through the time periods. The capacity expansion of private distribution center or lease usage of public distribution center must be done to satisfy demand increase for distribution center. The costs are capacity expansion cost and excess capacity holding cost of private distribution center, lease usage cost of public distribution center. Capacity expansion planning of minimizing the total costs is mathematically modelled. The properties of optimal solution are characterized and a dynamic programming algorithm is developed. A numerical example is shown to explain the problem.

Every single company in the world makes a huge amount of effort so as to not only cut down the physical distribution cost but promote the efficiency. In the government's respect, especially, they expect to maximize the synergy by unifying the physical distribution. For that reason, it relevant for all kinds of a distribution strategy to get rid of unnecessary distribution centers and to integrate distribution centers by unifying and rearranging the distribution centers that are hardly efficient. Most enterprises in Japan, related to making and distributive, have got a tendency to decentralize their distribution centers in a wide scope of the whole nation. In the meantime, they seem to get a move to become a great-sphere distribution center. Many similar cases in Korea, Koon-Po distribution center, Yong-In distribution center, are not expected to function properly. With a rate of trading products expanded, a new strategic physical distribution is needed to turn the way of depending on building up a new distribution center into the way of unifying and rearranging a distribution center. Therefore, this study aims to identify the optimal method of unifying and rearranging a distribution center, compared to the cost which takes place in a large number of distribution centers.

It is shown that a lattice distribution defined on a set of n lattice points $L(n,\delta) = {\delta,\delta+1,...,\delta+n-1}$ is a distribution induced from the distribution of convolution of independently and identically distributed (i.i.d.) uniform [0,1] random variables. Also the m-th moment of the lattice distribution is obtained in a quite different approach from Park and Chung (1978). It is verified that the distribution of the sum of n i.i.d. uniform [0,1] random variables is completely determined by the lattice distribution on $L(n,\delta)$ and the uniform distribution on [0,1]. The factorial mement generating function, factorial moments, and moments are also obtained.
