A framework for multi-platform analytical and multi-component hybrid (testing-analysis) simulations is described in this paper and illustrated with several application examples. The framework allows the integration of various analytical platforms and geographically distributed experimental facilities into a comprehensive pseudo-dynamic hybrid simulation. The object-oriented architecture of the framework enables easy inclusion of new analysis platforms or experimental models, and the addition of a multitude of auxiliary components, such as data acquisition and camera control. Four application examples are given, namely; (i) multi-platform analysis of a bridge with soil and structural models, (ii) multiplatform, multi-resolution analysis of a high-rise building, (iii) three-site small scale frame hybrid simulation, and (iv) three-site large scale bridge hybrid simulation. These simulations serve as illustrative examples of collaborative research among geographically distributed researchers employing different analysis platforms and testing equipment. The versatility of the framework, ease of including additional modules and the wide application potential demonstrated in the paper provide a rich research environment for structural and geotechnical engineering.
To overcome limitations of test scope, schedule and cost, M&S(Modeling & Simulation) technique has been applied for T&E(Test and Evaluation) of the state-of-art weapon systems. This paper proposes an air defense simulation software framework to reduce both redundancy an[1 programming errors in system simulator. The proposed framework consists of a 'model' and a 'middleware' The 'middleware' is a reliable communication service layer that supports not only HLA(High Level Architecture) which is an international standard in M&S but also TCP/IP, UDP and etc. The main role of 'model' is to schedule and to run the real-time distributed simulation. The proposed framework has been applied to M-SAM(Middle range Surface to Air Missile) system simulator. The proposed framework's scheduling and communication performance results are satisfactory and were measured by hardwired NTP(Network Timer Protocol) time-stamp with GPS(Global Positioning System) timer for better precision.

With the advent of distributed generation, power systems in general are impacted in regards to stability and power quality. Distributed generation has positive impacts on system restoration following a fault, higher reliability, and mitigation of effect due to voltage sag. However, distributed generation also has negative impacts on the decrease of reliability such as changes of protective device setting and mal-operation. Because bulk power systems consist of various sources and loads, it is complicated to analyze power systems that have distributed generation. The types of distributed generation usually are classified as the rotating machinery system and the inverter-based system. In this paper, distributed generation is designed as a synchronous generator, and the distribution system with its distributed generation model is simulated using EMTP. In addition, this paper shows the simulation results according to the types of distributed generation
We suggest a distributed framework for task assignment in the computer-controlled shop floor where each of the resource agents and part agents acts like an independent profit maker. The job allocation problem is formulated as a linear programming problem. The LP formulation is analyzed to provide a rationale for the distributed task assignment procedure. We suggest an auction based negotiation procedure including a price-based bid construction and a price revising mechanism. The performance of the suggested procedure is compared with those of an LP formulation and conventional dispatching procedures by simulation experiments.

Recently, a fuel cell is remarkable for new generation system. The fuel cell generation system converts the chemical energy of a fuel directly into electrical energy. The fuel cell generation is characterized by low voltage and high current. For connecting to utility, it needs both a step up converter and an inverter. The step up converter makes DC link and the inverter changes DC to AC. In this paper full bridge converter and the single phase inverter are designed and installed for fuel cell. Simulation and experiment verify that fuel cell generation system could be applied for the distributed generation.
This paper considers a network restoration algorithm for all-optical WDM networks. As the increasing traffic and transmission speed, any failure on the networks will lead to loss of huge data and disruption of the services. Therefore, a network restoration algorithm is necessary for the high-speed all-optical networks. This paper suggests a distributed restoration algorithm for line or channel level failures under the dynamic rerouting. For the algorithm, some measures for performance evaluation are explicitly derived and simulation studies are exploited to evaluate its usability by SLAM(Simulation Language for Alternative Modeling) II.

I propose a personalized digital library system (PDLS) based on an advanced distributed agent platform. The new platform is developed by improving the DECAF (Distributed Environment-Centered Agent Framework) which is one of the conventional distributed agent development toolkits. Also, a mobile ORB (Object Request Broker), Voyager, and a new multi agent negotiation algorithm are adopted to develop the advanced platform. The new platform is for mobile multi agents as well as the distributed environment, whereas the DECAF is for the distributed and non-mobile environment. From the results of the simulation the searched time of PDLS is lower, as the numbers of servers and agents are increased. And the user satisfaction is four times greater than the conventional client-server model. Therefore, the new platform has some optimality and higher performance in the distributed mobile environment.
In this paper load redistribution algorithm to allow fault-tolerance by redistributing the workload of n failure nodes to the remaining good nodes in distributed systems are investigated. To evaluate the efficiency of the algorithms a simulation model of algorithms is developed using SLAM II simulation language. The job arrival rate service rate failure and repair rate of nodes and communication delay time due to load migraion are used as parameters. The result of the simulation shows that the job arrival rate failure and repair rate of nodes do not affected on the relative efficiency of algorithms. If the communication delay time is greater than average job processing time algorithm B is better. Otherwise algorithm C is superior to the others.
