  • Distributed ledger technology, which is attracting attention as an emerging technology related to the 4th Industrial Revolution, is implemented as an open source based distributed ledger technology system and widely used for development with various applications (or services), but the security functions provided by the distributed general ledger system are very insufficient. This paper proposes security enhancements for distributed ledger technology systems based on open source. To do so, potential security threats that may occur under running an open source based distributed ledger technology systems are identified and security functional requirements against the security threats identified are provided by analyzing legislation and security certification criteria (ISMS-P). In addition, it proposes a method to implement the security functions required for an open source based distributed ledger technology systems through analysis of security functional components of Common Criteria (CC), an international standard.

  • Recently, many countries around the world including Korea (Rep. of) have actively introduced online voting using distributed ledger technology (e.g. blockchain). However, online voting using distributed ledger technology based on the widely deployed telecommunication/ICT infrastructure. There is insufficient analysis of potential security threats. In this paper, we suggest a model for online voting system using distributed ledger technology and propose countermeasures by analyzing the security threats that may occur in online voting process in terms of information security.

  • Blockchain and its infrastructure technology have expanded rapidly in the last decade and are in high demand, but there is a lack of comprehensive studies on those platforms. Blockchain is a new technology based on the distributed digital ledger system. Decentralized trust is one of the key factors behind the blockchain-based system. Transparency of such a system is better than a conventional centralized ledger system. By using a blockchain-based transaction system, any business organization can harness key benefits like data integrity, confidentiality, and anonymity without involving any third party in control of the transactions. Since the blockchain is used in numerous applications and the horizon is expanding at an unprecedented pace. So, there is a need for an introducing and reviewing of blockchain platforms. In this paper, we have reported a review on existing contemporary blockchain platforms. In particular, From the existing studies, we have identified eighty blockchain platforms and the majority of them have a lack of technical details. To provide the researchers a comprehensive introducing on blockchain platforms to perform a broad guideline for future research and investment in the blockchain domain.

  • This paper explores the potential of Blockchain technology in enabling a panacea for health equity. Since Satoshi Nakamoto first described Blockchain technology in 2008 pseudonymous paper, that distributed ledger system is empowered and ranging from finance to law to another sector and beyond. Also impacting healthcare sector and life science. In other words, there are many usage cases being researched in healthcare and Blockchain has shown its considerable special side in recent years. But this paper aims to the distributed ledger that is the special side of Blockchain technology is potentially can panacea for some global health equity issues such as patient data, counterfeit drug and hospital payment management.

  • This paper introduces the Cryptocurrency Market Potential Index (CMPI) in order to measure the potential of the blockchain-backed cryptocurrency. Adopting the Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) system as a conceptual framework, the whole process from development to implementation and adoption of blockchain-backed cryptocurrency are examined. This paper selects 30 variables and employs factor analysis for multivariate analysis to produce the CMPI for a total of 213 countries. The results show that although cryptocurrency is decentralized, its development and usage might still be very centralized in Europe, North America, hotspots in the Asia-Pacific, Middle East, and CIS regions. This result also highlights how important development and implementation are before adoption so that consequent financial transactions can take place.

  • The flow of global digitalization is leading to the emergence of a decentralized system environment based on blockchain or distributed ledger technology in the fields of economy, identity authentication, and logistics. Accordingly, a requirement that public services be searchable from several decentralized maritime service registries (MSRs) has been derived in terms of the discoverability of e-navigation services. This study describes a decentralized MSR environment composed of the MSR ledger and multiple local MSRs, and it has implemented a service search system that can search global e-navigation services in the environment through a web browser. This system is a decentralized application that dynamically generates service attributes, geometry information, and free text queries, and that provides users with relevant MSR and service access information from search results that are registered in the MSR ledger. In this study, we tested the established decentralized MSR environment and the system that performs service search within that environment, and we discussed its advantages and limitations.

  • Ransomware, a malicious program that requires money and then locks computers and files on network users for financial harvesting, will continue to evolve. Ransomware is a threat in mail systems that send and receive business information. By using Block Chain, Distributed Ledger technology, it is designed to be a safe mail system in which the automatically generated Ramsomware symptom data is directly linked to the security policy in the enterprise.

  • In Korea, a budget of tens of trillion won is put into the national R & D project every year. Thanks to these efforts, Korea's ICT industry is gaining global attention. However, there are still a lot of problems that are lacking in terms of the cycle of managing national ICT R&D projects. In particular, the issue of sharing is very insufficient throughout the cycle of the national ICT R&D. In this paper, In this paper, We propose a platfom that can be shared throughout the cycle of managing blockchain-based national ICT R&D projects. This platform we call the Perfect Sharing Project Platform (PSPP). We describe that PSPP can achieve excellent research results through information sharing of project process[1-2]. To support the perfect sharing, this platform uses a new notion of consensus algorithm, called POA (Proof of Atomicity). This platform is suitable for sharing information.

  • The block chain, which is characterized by a distributed ledger that stores the same data in several places, has various technical features including security and stability. Due to these characteristics, various researches are being conducted on the application of the block chain. In this paper, we consider the issues to be considered for applying the block chain to the Korea Real Estate Administration Intelligence System (KRAS). Based on this, we propose a block chain reference model for KRAS including a system configuration method and a consensus algorithm.

  • After the 4th industrial revolution, the healthcare industry is striving to find new business models through new technologies. Among them, blockchain technology is one of the technologies that have great interest in the healthcare industry. Most providers of personal health record systems have difficulty in securing marketability due to various problems. Therefore, they try to integrate blockchain technology to develop new systems and gain marketability. However, blockchain has limitations in solving the problems of the personal health record system. In this study, we have designed a personalized health data management framework that enables information subjects to acquire full ownership rights of individual's health data, based on distributed ledger technology. For the framework design, we refer to the structure of R3 Corda. It was designed with a different network structure than the existing blockchain systems so that the node can be operated on the personal user's mobile device. This allows information subjects to directly store and manage their own data and share data with authorized network members. Through the proposed system, the information utilization of the healthcare industry can be improved and the public health promotion and medical technology development can be realized.
