흡입용 PEMWE형 수소 발생기에서 증류수 공급 방법이 성능에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Distilled Water Supply Method on Performance of PEMWE Typed Hydrogen Generators for Inhalation)

  • The present study has investigated the performance of hydrogen gas generators for inhalation purposes based on polyelectrolyte membrane water electrolysis (PEMWE). The system applied two watering methods. One is pumped water (pumping system) and the other is gravity-fed water without a pump (non-pumping system). The cell efficiencies were compared by measuring the cell voltage and temperature in the hydrogen gas generator, respectively. The results show that the cell voltage and temperature increase with the cell current. The cell temperature is lower in the pumping system than that in the non-pumping system at a given cell current. Even though the amount of hydrogen production is the same regardless of the pumping system, the cell efficiency of the hydrogen gas generator in the non-pumping system is better than that in the pumping system.

스테인리스-아세톤 히트파이프의 열전달 특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Heat Transfer Characteristics of Stainless-Acetone Heat Pipe)

  • This study was conducted in order to find an ideal working fluid kind and a proper filling amount in the heat pipe as well as an inclined angle of heat pipe when they are placed to recover exhaust gas heat in the hot air heater. Followings are the findings of this research. 1. Of the four different working fluids-gasoline kerosene distilled water and acetone-acetone filled heat pipe showed the best performance giving out more homogeneous temperature profile on the radiating part than the kerosene and gasoline heat pipe an carrying out heat transmitting function better than the distilled water heat pipe by 10~2$0^{\circ}C$ higher on the radiating part. Acetone would be a good choice for recycling of exhaust gas heat in the hot air heater. 2. Of the filling amount of working fluid inside the heat pipes dry-out situations possible caused by insufficient filling were found in the filling amount of 5, 7.5 and 10% heat pipes as heat supply rate increases gradually in the range of 50 to 15kJ/sec. but no dry-out and stabilized heat transmitting performance occurred in the heat pipes of 12.5 and 15% filling at the same heat supply rate. It recommends that filling amount shall exceed 12.5% at least with the working fluids of this experiment. 3. The test revealed that the heat transmitting performance of heat pipe was more affected by filling amount rather than inclined angle.

고농도 산소수 침지를 통한 새싹 재배 (Cultivation of Sprout by Highly Concentrated Oxygen Water Soaking)

  • 고농도 산소수를 이용한 새싹 침지로 인한 발아율 및 성장률을 비교하기 위하여 특정 용존산소량의 산소수를 고압 반응기에서 산소를 통한 가압을 통해 생성하였고, 용존산소량을 20, 30, 40, 50 ppm으로 조절한 산소수로 온도 $20^{\circ}C$에서 새싹을 4시간 동안 침지한 후 새싹을 관찰하였다. 그 결과 새싹의 10일째 최종적인 발아율은 일반 증류수 침지 시에 비해 50 ppm 산소수 침지시 최종발아율은 $24.6{\sim}28.6%$ 높게 나타났고, 최종 성장 길이도 $6{\sim}7\;mm$ 정도 높은 값을 나타내어, 새싹의 성장에서 씨앗의 충분한 산소 공급에 의한 발아가 안정적이고 효율적인 성장을 유도함을 알 수 있었다.

  • 1. Water supply treatment plants personnel could not test the water quality control, because most of them rely on the provincial health laboratories about water quality rely rant test. However, in future, plants have to been provided the facilities and equipment of water quality laboratory. 2. Chlorination methods are 89.5% of liquid chlorine and 10.5% of solid chlorine, and the cost per 1 $\m^{3}$ of chlorination is about 1.30 won which chlorination cost is very cheap as 1/142 of drinking water production cost. Input method of chlorine is 35% of automatic method, 56% of semi-automatic, and 9% of other methods, and this is no problem 3. Residual effects of chlorination, in the case of distilled water as a standardized material and 0.2 ppm of seperated residual chlorine, were continued 32 hours in $0^{\circ}C$, and 25 hour in $20^{\circ}C$, of water temperature and in the case of 0.4 ppm of seperated residual chlorine were continued 47 hours in $0^{\circ}C$ and 23 hours in $20^{\circ}C$. 4. In the case of 4 ppm of seperated residual chlorine, residual effects were continued 23 hours in $5^{\circ}C$, 90 hours in $10^{\circ}C$, 78 hours in $15^{\circ}C$, and 60 hours in $20^{\circ}C$ : by the temper; lure of water, continuing residual effects of chlorination are different, so we have to car for the warm season chlorination in the hider temperature. 5. Chlorination effects of drinking waters in the case of 0.4 ppm of seperated residual chlorine were continued 237 hours in $22^{\circ}C$ water : and in the case of rechlorination as 4 ppm of residual chlorine, continued 71 hours in $22^{\circ}C$ water.

초음파 진동이 경사진 평판에서의 CHF에 미치는 영향에 대한 실험연구 (Experimental Study of the Ultrasonic Vibration Effects on CHF Occurring on Inclined Flat Surfaces)

  • 본 연구는 초음파 진동의 영향을 받는 풀비등 조건에서의 CHF 열전달 촉진현상을 이해하기 위해 수행되었다. 평판에 얇은 구리박판이 덮여 있는 시료와 증류수를 냉각제로 사용하여 초음파 유무, 경사각도의 변화 및 물의 과냉도 변화에 대하여 평판 가열면에서의 CHF를 측정하였다. 실험장치는 수조, 전원공급장치, 시험부, 초음파 발생장치, 데이터 획득장치 등으로 구성되었다. 실험조건은 3가지 과냉도에 대한 실험과 6가지 시편의 경사각도를 변화시켜 수행되었다. 측정값을 통해 초음파 진동이 CHF를 증진시키며, 그 영향은 경사각의 변화뿐만 아니라 과냉도에 따라서 크기가 달라지는 것을 알 수 있다. 초음파 진동에 의한 CHF증가율은 과냉도가 커질수록, 그리고 시편의 경사각도가 수직에서 수평하향 방향으로 기울어질수록 증가하였다. 가시화 실험을 통해 CHF 증가의 원인이 음장에서 기포 생성과 이탈의 동적거동과 밀접하게 관련되어 있음을 확인하였다.

멀티 플라즈마 공정을 이용한 하수 미생물의 불활성화 (Inactivation of Sewage Microorganisms using Multi-Plasma Process)

  • For the field application of dielectric barrier discharge plasma reactor, a multi-plasma reactor was investigated for the inactivation of microorganisms in sewage. We also considered the possibility of degradation of non-biodegradable matter ($UV_{254}$) and total organic carbon (TOC) in sewage. The multi-plasma reactor in this study was divided into high voltage neon transformers, gas supply unit and three plasma modules (consist of discharge, ground electrode and quartz dielectric tube). The experimental results showed that the inactivation of microorganisms with treated water type ranked in the following order: distilled water > synthetic sewage effluent >> real sewage effluent. The dissolved various components in the real sewage effluent highly influenced the performance of the inactivation of microorganisms. After continuous plasma treatment for 10 min at 180 V, residual microorganisms appeared below 2 log and $UV_{254}$ absorbance (showing a non-biodegradable substance in water) and TOC removal rate were 27.5% and 8.5%, respectively. Therefore, when the sewage effluent is treated with plasma, it can be expected the inactivation of microorganisms and additional improvement of water quality. It was observed that the $NH_4{^+}$-N and $PO{_4}^{3-}$-P concentrations of sewage was kept at the constant plasma discharging for 30 min. On the other hand, $NO_3{^-}$-N concentration was increased with proceeding of the plasma discharge.

분생포자수 및 영양상태가 대두갈색무늬병균의 분생포자 발아에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Conidial Number and Nutrition on the Germination of Conidia in Septoria glycines)

  • 대두갈색무늬병균의 포자발아(分生胞子發芽) 미치는 외부영양공급(外部營養供給) 및 self-inhibitor의 영향(影響)을 조사하여 다음과 같은 결과(結果)를 얻었다. 1. 갈색무늬병균의 포자발아율은 감자한천배지 및 대두잎조각을 첨가한 증류수에서는 양호하였으나 살균된 증류수에서는 극히 불량하였다. 2. 갈색무늬병균의 포자발아에는 탄소원의 외부공급이 절대 필요한 것으로 보였으며 인산, 가리 등은 큰 영향이 없는 것으로 보였다. 3. 탄소원으로서는 가용성 전분이 가장 효과적이었고 다음이 포도당, 유당 등이었으며 포도당의 경우 $5\times10^{-2}mol$ 농도에서 가장 높은 발아율을 보였다. 4. 포자발아율은 포자밀도가 높을수록 현저히 감소하여 포자농도 $10,000conidia/mm^2$ 이상에서는 거의 발아하지 않는 것으로 보아 self-inhibitor가 존재하는 것으로 보였다. 5. 기질(基質)을 세척한 포자의 발아율은 세척하지 않은 포자의 발아율에 비해 낮았으며 이러한 현상은 포자농도가 $2,000conidia/mm^2 $ 이상으로 증가할 때 더욱 현저하였고 건조된 한천배양기위에는 발아율 감소가 현저하였다.

  • Augmentation of CHF by ultrasonic is experimentally studied under subcooling pool boiling condition. Experiment is carried out for downward-facing plate with and without the ultrasonic. The working fluid is distilled water. Experimental apparatus is composed of a bath, power supply, test section, ultrasonic generator, DAQ system. Experiment is performed with the subcooling temperature of $5^{\circ}C$, $20^{\circ}C$, $40^{\circ}C$ and the inclined angle of $0^{\circ}$, $10^{\circ}$, $20^{\circ}$, $45^{\circ}$, 90. From the experimental results, it is found that ultrasonic effect enhances CHF of the downward-facing plate. As increasing the degree of subcooling, the rate of CHF increase is enhanced. As increasing the inclined angle, the rate of CHF increase decreases. Also, we can see that the heat transfer mechanism of CHF augmentation is closely connected with the dynamic behavior of bubble generation and departure.

메시형 알루미늄 전극을 이용한 전기응집/부상 공정에서 Kaoline의 탁도 제거 (Turbidity Removal of Kaolin in an Electrocoagulation/Flotation Process Using a Mesh-type Aluminum Electrode)

  • The Electrocoagulation-Flotation (ECF) process has great potential in wastewater treatment. ECF technology is effective in the removal of colloidal particles, oil-water emulsion, organic pollutants such as microalgae, and heavy metals. Numerous studies have been conducted on ECF; however, many of them used a conventional plate-type aluminum anode. In this study, we determined the effect of changing operational parameters such as power supply time, applied current, NaCl concentration, and pH on the turbidity removal efficiency of kaoline. We also determined the effects of different electrolyte types (NaCl, $MgSO_4$, $CaCl_2$, $Na_2SO_4$, and tap water), as well as the differences caused by using a plate-type and mesh-type aluminum anode, on the turbidity removal efficiency. The results showed that the optimal values of ECF time, applied current, NaCl concentration, and pH were 5 min, 0.35 A, 0.4 g/L NaCl in distilled water, and pH 7, respectively. The results also revealed that the turbidity removal efficiency of kaoline in different electrolytes decreased in the following sequence, given the same conductivity: tap water > $CaCl_2$ > $MgSO_4$ > NaCl > $Na_2SO_4$. The turbidity removal efficiency of the mesh-type aluminum anode was significantly greater than the plate-type aluminum anode.

왕겨펠렛 생물담체 개발 및 이를 이용한 bio scrubber형 악취제거 시스템 성능평가 (Developmemt of Rice Husk Pellets as Bio-filter Media of Bio Scrubber Odor Removal System)

  • The rice husk contains nutrients which can be easily utilized by microorganisms, and also has a water retaining ability, which played a crucial part in enabling it to become a biofilter media. In this study, we evaluated the applicability of rice husk pellet bio-scrubber as a microbiological carrier. The pelletization experiment of rice husk as a biological media was performed using PVA and EVA binder. Also, the feasibility tests of rice husk as a biological media for odor removal were carried out in order to know whether rice-husk contains useful components as a media for microbiological growth or not. Lastly, a combined test for odor gas absorption and biological oxidation was conducted using a lab scale bio-filter set-up packed with rice-husk pellets as wet-scrubber. The major components of the rice husk were carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, and oxygen, while carbon acted as the main ingredient which comprised up to 23.00%. The C : N : P ratio was calculated as 45 : 1 : 2. Oxygen uptake rate, yield and decay rate of the rice husk eluent was calculated to be $0.0049mgO_2/L/sec$, 0.24 mgSS/mgCOD and 0.004 respectively. The most stable form of rice husk pellets was produced when the weight of the rice husk, EVAc, PVAc, and distilled water was 10 : 2 : 0.2 : 10. The prepared rice husk pellets had an apparent density of 368 g/L and a porosity of 59.00% upon filling. Dry rice husks showed high adsorption capacity for ammonia gas but low adsorption capacity for hydrogen sulfide. The bio-filter odor removal column filled with rice husk pellets showed more than 99.50% removal efficiency for NH3 and H2S gas. Through the analysis of circulation water, the prime removal mechanism is assumed to be the dissolution by water, microbial nitrification, and sulfation. Finally, it was confirmed that the microorganisms could survive well on the rice husk pellets, which provided them a stable supply of nutrients for their activity in this long-term experiment. This adequate supply of nutrients from the rice husk enabled high removal efficiency by the microorganisms.
