In this research, volume reduction of activated sludge using electrolysis was studied to find an optimum condition using lab scale experiments. Wasted sludge was treated by electrolysis with controlling current density, chloride concentration, electrode distance, and reaction time. Volume of return sludge was reduced by 9.79% in average while maximum was 16.7%. Sludge volume reduction efficiency was affected by current density and reaction time. It was reversely proportional to the electrode distance. Especially current density was effective on the system performance significantly. Electric conductivity, salinity and COD were increased by electrolysis implying sludge disintegrated and converted to COD in part. An empirical equation for total solid removal efficiency by electrolysis was proposed by multiple linear regression analysis as: $TS_{rem}$(%) = 5.534 ${\times}$ current density (A/l) + 0.178 ${\times}$ reaction time (m) + 2.758.
A distance protection algorithm for detecting faults at power transmission lines is presented in this paper. The algorithm is based on the differential equation related to the voltage and the current at an equivalent circuit of a transmission line which is composed of the lumped resistance and inductance. The presented integration method has high performance at though the fault voltage and the current are heavily distorted with the DC offset and harmonics which occurred at transient states after faults.

A simply supported pipe conveying fluid and two moving masses upon it constitute this nitration system. The equation of motion is derived by using Lagrange's equation. The influence of the velocities of two moving masses, the distance between two moving masses, and the velocities of fluid flow in the pipe have been studied on the dynamic behavior of a simply supported pipe by numerical method. The velocities of fluid flow are considered with in its critical values of a simply supported pipe without moving masses upon It. Their coupling effects on the transverse vibration of a simply supported pipe are inspected too. As the velocity of two moving masses increases, the deflection of a simply supported pipe is increased and the frequency of transverse vibration of a simply supported pipe is not varied. In case of small distance between two masses, the maximum deflection of the pipe occur when the front mass arrive at midspan. Otherwise as the distance get larger, the position of the front masses where midspan deflection is maximum moves beyond the midpoint of a simply supported pipe. The deflection of a simply supported pipe is increased by coupling of the velocities of moving masses and fluid flow.

This paper proposed a new real time catenary impedance estimation technique using synchronized power data from the measured data of operating vehicle and substation for catenary protective relay and fault locator setting. This paper presented estimation equation of catenary impedance using synchronized power data between substation and vehicle of AT feeding system for the performance verification of the proposed technique. Also AC feeding system is modeled through power analysis program and performance was verified through simulation according to various load changes. We verified that average 2.38%(distance equivalent 23.8 m) error appeared between the proposed estimation equation of catenary impedance and power analysis program simulation output in no connection double track system between up track and down track. Furthermore, We confirmed that estimation error is bigger depending on the increasing the distance from substation and vehicle impedance using only using vehicle current when calculating vehicle impedance in connection double track system between up track and down track. But, We confirmed that the proposed technique estimated accurately catenary impedance regardless of vehicle impedance and distance from substation.

A large modern wind farm should satisfy the requirements for a grid and accomplish the optimization of the wind farm system. The wind farm intertie protection system should consider a Fault Ride-Through (FRT) requirement for more reliable protection. The wind farm should keep connected to the grid in the case of a grid fault whilst it should be isolated for an intertie fault. This paper proposes a distance relaying algorithm suitable for wind farm intertie protection considering the FRT requirement. The proposed algorithm estimates the impedance based on a differential equation method because the frequency of the voltage and current deviates the nominal frequency. The algorithm extends the reach of Zone 1 up to 100 % of the length of the intertie to implement the FRT requirement. To discriminate an intertie fault from a grid fault, the algorithm uses a voltage blocking scheme because the magnitude of the voltage at the relaying point for an intertie fault becomes less than that for a grid fault. The performance of the algorithm is verified using a PSCAD/EMTDC simulator under various fault conditions. The algorithm can discriminate successfully the intertie fault from grid fault and thus helps to implement the FRT requirement of a wind farm.
In this paper, 10 city names of Korean were recognized. The name are articulated each 5 times by 10 male speakers. Filter bank output on total 500 words were extracted and they were used as feature parameters. Filter bank was constructed of 15 channels with 1/3 octave spacing from 200[Hz], using RC active circuit. Reference templates were created by clustering algorithm. DTW algorithm was used to compare similarity between reference templates and input words. Euclidean distance equation and Chebyshev distance equation were used to know the distinction between the recognition results obtained by the method of distance caculation, error rates are 16.4[%], 15.0[%], respectively.

In this study in order to make doubly-curved sheet metal effectively a sheet metal forming process has been developed by adopting the flexibility of the incremental forming process and the principle of bending deformation which causes slight deformation to thickness The developed process is an unconstrained forming process with no holder. For this study the experimental equipment is set up with the punch-set which consists of two pairs of lower support-punches and one upper center-punch. In the experiments using aluminum sheet it is found that the curvature of the formed sheet metal is determined by controlling the distance between supporting punches in pairs and the forming depth of the center-punch. and the edge-forming method is proposed for forming the sheet metal into the balanced shape. The equation using process variables such as the distance between supporting punches in pairs and the forming depth of the center-punch is proposed for the prediction of the radii of curvatures of the formed shape and it is corrected by the experimental results and the FEM simulation results about whether springback takes place. It is found that according o the simulation there is a certain set of the distance between a pair of supporting punches and the forming depth of the center-punch which causes a little springback. It is thus shown that the radii of curvatures of the formed sheet metal can be predicated by the corrected equation unless significant springback occurs.

In this paper, the experimental modeling of the force between permanent magnet and iron-core solenoid is suggested for more accurate control of 3 D.O.F. motor using the electromagnetic force. In the case of iron-core solenoid, the general equation of solenoid cant be used simply because of its nonlinearity. Therefore, the magnetic flux density is estimated through the concept of equivalent permanent magnet. The force distribution between permanent magnet and iron-core solenoid is more dependent on the magnetization of iron core caused by the permanent magnet than any other parameters. Therefore, the equation of the force estimation between these magnetic systems can be modeled by the experimental function of the magnetization of iron core. Especially, if the distance between iron-core solenoid and permanent magnet is far enough, the force equation through experiment can be expressed from only the current of coil and the distance between iron-core solenoid and permanent magnet. It means that Coulombs law can be used for magnetic systems and it is validated through the experiment. Therefore, force calibration is performed by the concept of Coulombs law.
The physical phenomena of rectangular open cavity are numerically investigated in this paper Two-dimensional cavity problems with laminar boundary layers in upstream are simulated by using the compressible Wavier-Stokes equations. The high-order and high-resolution numerical schemes are used for the evaluation of spatial derivatives and the time integration. Cross-correlation is used to analyze the characteristics of wave propagation along time and spatial. Sudden phase shifting of 90 degrees is appeared near downstream edge, and this is coincident with the phase lag suggested in original Rossiter's equation. The results give a further understanding of the physical phenomenon of noise generation, and the resonance of flow and acoustic in cavity. Moreover, modified Rossiter's equation, which is more accurate and can be applied in various conditions, is suggested. The distance from the point of vortex generation to the point of vortex collapsing acts as effective distance of cavity resonance, and the phase difference between the point of vortex collapsing and the point of acoustic source acts as phase lag. The mechanism of acoustic generation is fully understood in this paper. The mechanism of acoustic generation is fully understood in this paper.

The characteristics of near wakes of circular cylinders with serrated fins are investigated experimentally using a hot-wire anemometer for various freestream velocities. Near wake structures of the fin tubes are observed using a phase average technique. With increasing fin height and decreasing fin pitch. oscillation of streamwise velocity increases. It file oscillation of lateral velocity decreases. The time averaged V-component velocity distribution of the finned tube is contrary to that of the circular cylinder due to the different strength of entrainment flow. This strength is affected by the distance of (equation omitted) = 1.0 contour lines. (equation omitted) = 1.0 contour line approaches to the wake center line when the fin density is increased. When the distance between (equation omitted) = 1.0 contour lines comes close the shear force should be increased and the flow toward the wake center line can be more strengthened because of the shear force. Factors related to the velocity recovery in the near wake of the finned tube are attributed to tile turbulent intensity, the boundary layer thickness. the position and strength of entrainment process.
