Robust Scene Change Detection Method for MPEG Video (MPEG 동영상에서의 강인한 장면 전환 검출 기법의 연구)

  • Scene change detection is the fundamental process of automatic video indexing and retrieving. In this paper we propose a method which utilizes both compressed and uncompressed domain methods to detect scene change in a video. Candidate locations for scene change are estimated from DC images and motion vector information in compressed domain. And candidate frames are verified using edge histogram distance and color histogram distance, in uncompressed domain. The experimental results show that scene change can be detected fast and correctly by proposed method.

Comparison of Surface Microhardness of the Flowable Bulk-Fill Resin and the Packable Bulk-Fill Resin according to Light Curing Time and Distance

  • Background: As a restorative material used to treat dental caries, the light-curing type resin is widely used, but it has the disadvantage of polymerization shrinkage. The Bulk-Fill composite resin was developed to solve these shortcomings, but the existing research mainly focused on comparing the physical properties of a composite resin and a Bulk-Fill resin. A study on the light curing time and distance of the Bulk-Fill resin itself tend to be lacking. Methods: This study compares the surface microhardness of specimens prepared by varying the light curing time and distance of smart dentin replacement (SDR) as a flowable Bulk-Fill resin and Tetric N-ceram as a packable Bulk-Fill resin, and confirms the polymerization time and distance that becomes the optimum hardness. To determine the hardness of the specimen, it was measured using the Vickers Hardness Number (Matsuzawa MMT-X, Japan). Results: In SDR, the surface microhardness decreased as the distance increased in all time groups in the change distance from the curing tip. In the change of light curing time with respect to the distance from curing tip, the surface microhardness increased as the time increased. In Tetric N-ceram, the surface microharness showed no significant difference in the change of the distance of curing tip in the group of 20 and 60 second. But in the group of 10 and 40 seconds, decreased as the distance increased. The surface microharness increased as the light curing time increased in all distance groups. Conclusion: When using SDR and Tetric N-ceram in clinical practice, it is considered that as the distance from the polymerization reactor tip increases, a longer light curing time than the polymerization time recommended by the manufacturer is required.

  • This research is about the six graders' preconceptions in elementary school about a cause of the seasonal change before learning. The result of this research is that the patterns of six graders's preconceptions in elementary school are earth's rotation, earth's revolution, the distance between the earth and the sun and the location factor between the sun and our country, which are mixed up with two more things. Especially many patterns of students explain the seasonal change of our country using the change of location of our country by earth's rotation, the location factor between the earth and the sun and the distance between the earth and the sun by earth's revolution.

Analysis of Biomechanical Differences based on Distance Changes in Connection with Approach Swings of Tour-professional Golfers

  • Objective: This study aimed to compare differences in biomechanical factors according to distance changes in relation to approaches during a round of golf to obtain basic data on golf swings. Methods: The research subjects were 8 KPGA-affiliated professional golfers who performed approach shots that put a ball into a circle of 8 feet in diameter from distances of 30, 50, and 70 m. Data were collected by using six infrared cameras and a ground reaction force device, which were applied to calculate biomechanical factors by using Kwon3D XP. The calculated data were subjected to one-way ANOVA by using SPSS 20.0, with the significance level set at p value of 0.05. Results: Elapsed time, stance width, clubhead position variation, clubhead synthesis speed, and cocking angle significantly differed according to distance change during the approach swing. Clubhead speed was positively related with stance width and clubhead displacement. Ground reaction force significantly differed according to distance change during the approach swing. Factors before and after showed differences in other states, except in the impact state. Conclusion: In the present study, we drew several conclusions regarding biomechanical factors and ground reaction forces according to distance change in the approach swing of professional golfers. According to these conclusions, we suggest that distance control with swing range is more important than power control in maintaining the accuracy and consistency of golf swing and is the most important mechanism of golf swing.

  • This paper proposes a method to detect scene change using global decision tree that extract boundary cut that have width of big change that happen by camera brake from difference value of frames. First, calculate frame difference value through regional X2-histogram and normalization, next, calculate distance between difference value using normalization. Shot boundary detection is performed by compare global threshold distance with distance value for two adjacent frames that calculating global threshold distance based on distance between calculated difference value. Global decision tree proposed this paper can detect easily sudden scene change such as motion from object or camera and flashlight.

THE EFFECT OF IMMERSION DISINFECTION ON THE DIMENSIONAL STABILITY OF RUBBER IMPRESSION MATERIALS (침적 소독이 고무 인상재의 크기 안정성에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to evalute the effect of immersion disinfection on the dimensional stability of rubber impression materials. The metallic master model was made in order to simulate the intraoral arch form. Impressions were made from four impression materials (Exaflex, Extrude, Reprosil, Impregum-F) and immersed in three disinfectant solutions (Wydex, Vi-Pon, Potadine). Casts from the impressions were measured according to the interpreparation distance. The A-B and The B-D abutment distance were compared with the control group and disinfected groups. The results were as follows; 1. The measurements of the stone cast increased relative to the master model and there was a significant difference (P<0.05). 2. The relative dimensional change of the stone cast as compared with master model ranged from 0.10% to 0.56% in the A-B distance and ranged from 0.04% to 0.27% in the B-D distance. 3. The dimensional change of the disinfected groups as compared with the control group was significantly different in the three impression materials except for Impregum-F (P<0.05). 4. The relative dimensional change of the disinfected groups compared with the control group ranged from 0% to 0.20% in the A-B distance and ranged from -0.09% to 0.11% in the B-D distance. These results suggest that immersion disinfection of rubber impression materials by chemical disinfectants causes very small dimensional change and the change is clinically acceptable for prothesis fabrication

Speaker Change Detection Based on a Graph-Partitioning Criterion

  • Speaker change detection involves the identification of time indices of an audio stream, where the identity of the speaker changes. In this paper, we propose novel measures for the speaker change detection based on a graph-partitioning criterion over the pairwise distance matrix of feature-vector stream. Experiments on both synthetic and real-world data were performed and showed that the proposed approach yield promising results compared with the conventional statistical measures.

Effects of Distance Education via Synchronous Video Conferencing on Attitude Changes of Korean and Japanese Students

  • This study seeks to prove three points through the research. The first point is to examine the changes of international attitudes with actual experiences using synchronous international distance learning. The second point is to examine the effectiveness of a synchronous international distance system. And the final point is to compare international attitudes among middle school and undergraduate school students in Korea and Japan. The study used the DVTS for audio and video communication tools and automatic translating chat as a text communication tool. This combination of communication tools was very effective for students from both countries to communicate for international collaborative learning activities. The study found several interesting patterns of attitude change from the results of the study. For whole category analysis, there are positive changes in four categories of international attitudes: consciousness to foreign countries, consideration for other's viewpoints, motivation for international education, and recognition for the counterpart country. However, there was no change in the nationality category.

A Study on the Pressure drop Variance of Pulse interval, injection distance in Pulse Air Jet Type Bag Filter (충격기류식 여과집진장치의 펄스간격 밀 분사거리에 따른 압력손실변화에 관한 기초 연구)

  • The change of pressure drop according to the change in the inlet concentration, pulse interval, and injection distance of pulse air jet type bag filters, and the effect of venturi installation are as follows. The pressure drop with the range of 30 to $50mmH_2O$ varies according to the injection distance with 30, 50, 70, 90sec and the inlet concentration of venture built-in fabric filters. For the lower concentration of 0.5g/㎥ and 1g/㎥, the pressure $drop(\DeltaP)$ was stable 60 to 90minutes after operation. For the higher concentration of 3g/㎥, as $\DeltaP$ continues to go up, pulse interval should be set shorter than 30 seconds. The pressure drop with the injection distance of 1l0mm, when inlet dust concentration is 0.5g/㎥ or 1g/㎥, is 1.3 to 2 lower than with the injection distance of 50, 160, and 220mm, which means that the inflow amount of the secondary air by the instant acceleration is large. The injection distance of 2g/㎥ and 3g/㎥ has the similar pressure distribution. The higher inlet concentration is, the more important pulse interval is than injection distance. The pressure drop has proved to be larger when inlet concentration is lower and injection distance closer, on condition that the venturi is installed. The change in the pressure drop was smallest when injection distance was 50mm, followed by 220mm, 160mm, and 110mm.

Experimental Study to measure Aerodynamical Wind Effects of KTX for Determining the Distance Between Track Centers (선로간격 설정시 KTX 열차풍 영향 측정에 관한 실험 연구)

  • When constructing a high-speed railroad, the reduction of the distance between track centers and the width of track bed will save the construction cost. However the shortening the distance between track centers may cause the stability problems due to higher wind pressure. Therefore the extensive technical review and aerodynamical study should be performed to determine the adequate distance between track centers. In this study, the impact that the increase in wind pressure due to the change of aerodynamic phenomena with the change of the distance between track centers may have on two trains passing by each other was predicted, and the stability of train operation was analyzed in order to review the distance between track centers suitable to Honam HSR trains. And we estimated the aerodynamical effects by the results of the real train experiments by using KTX.
