And Kenny, D.A.'s mediation effect statistic analysis was used to confirm the mediating effect of major satisfaction in critical thinking disposition on disaster recognition. As a result, the critical thinking disposition affects the disaster recognition, and it was judged that the major satisfaction was mediating role. intellectual fairness sub-factor showed perfect mediating effect and confidence and general truth sub-factor showed partial mediating effect. Based on the above findings, it can be seen that not only critical thinking but also satisfaction with the major should be considered in order to increase the recognition of the sudden disaster. In this case, research for linking critical thinking disposition and major satisfaction is likely to be meaningful. External attribution disposition had positive relation with test anxiety. 2. Path coefficient from self-efficacy to internal attribution disposition was significant positively and path coefficient from self-efficacy to external attribution disposition was significant negatively. However, the path coefficient from self-efficacy to test anxiety was insignificant. 3. Path coefficient from external attribution disposition to self-efficacy was positively significant. However, the path coefficient from internal attribution disposition to self-efficacy was not significant statistically. 4. • This study explores the determinants of clothing disposition and examines their effect on the dimensions of clothing disposition behavior. The data of 316 women were collected nationwide using an online self-administered questionnaire. This study initially identified five types of disposition behavior as revising, permanent separation, giving away, selling, and donating to charity. Exploratory and confirmative factor analysis identified the underlying determinants of clothing disposition as self-concept, reusability, economic factor, social environment, affective association, storage, fashionableness, and a sense of belongingness. Structural equation modeling was conducted to examine the relationships between variables. The results demonstrated that six out of eight determinants significantly affected clothing disposition behavior. The effects of social environment and a sense of belongingness were relatively strong determinants that influenced the four types of disposition behaviors. However, self-concept and affective association did not influence the disposition behaviors. A series of one-way MANOVA was conducted to determine the effect of the eight demographic variables on the four modes of clothing disposition. Giving away, permanent separation, and donating to charity differed significantly in the groups of three demographic variables such as age, monthly income, and marital status. This study empirically elucidates what criteria consumers use when confronted with unused clothing and how the determinants of clothing disposition influence the modes of clothing disposition behavior. This study provides a framework for clothing disposition behavior and its determinants as well as suggests a new approach to clothing disposition behavior and improvements in marketing decisions.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze whether the disposition effect, a behavioral finance theory, exists in decision-making for ship investment. A case study was adopted as the research methodology, and data obtained through narrative and questionnaire responses on decision-making for ship sales were analyzed from a behavioral finance perspective. The analysis found that the disposition effect had an impact on the decision to sell a vessel. The narrative responses revealed that some shipping companies tended to miss the opportunity to maximize ship sale profit because they sold their vessels readily and quickly before the price of the vessels had risen sufficiently. The questionnaire survey results indicated that the majority of the survey respondents chose to sell a ship whose price had risen slightly from the initial purchase price. Managers in charge of ship investment should examine whether the disposition effect exists in their decision-making when selling a ship.

  • The objective of this study is to investigate how investors in the Stock Exchange of Thailand practically trade in response to a magnitude of profits and losses, given a discussion of the widely well-known behavioral explanation, so called as the disposition effect. We provide empirical evidence of an existence of the V-shaped disposition effect, which has been recently found in several advanced equity markets. By adopting the methodology suggested by An's (2016) and Fama and Macbeth (1973), we document that stock return patterns in relation to aggregate unrealized gains and losses of investors are consistent with the V-shaped selling schedule, given an increase in unrealized gains and losses over the period of January 1996 to December 2015. The effect of unrealized gains is stronger than that of unrealized losses and this asymmetry underlies the existence of the V-shaped disposition effect in the Thai equity market. Interestingly, the effect of the V-shaped selling schedule is strongest over the short-term holding time horizon. Last but not the least, stocks for which investors have large unrealized gains and losses outperform in the following month and the long-short trading strategy, based on this premise, generates the average 1.7% monthly (equivalent to 20.0% per year) abnormal return.
