  • By the SOG (System-on-Glass) technology with excimer laser anneal process, the number of IC chips and the area of the mounted IC chips on the printed circuit board are reduced. In new circuit integrations on the glass substrate, we have developed D/A converter including the new capacitor array, amplifier comprising the original comparators and new display device with capturing images by integrated sensor into a pixel. This paper discusses the application of circuit integration of low-temperature poly-Si.

  • 저전력에 사용되는 Flyback 컨버터에서는 일반적으로 트랜스포머의 보조권선을 통하여 구동 IC에 필요로 하는 전력을 공급한다. 하지만, USB PD와 같이 5~20V의 넓은 출력전압을 가지는 경우 IC Vcc 정격 전압을 위하여 Linear regulator 사용이 필수적이나, 이는 소자발열 및 시스템 효율을 저하시킨다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 출력전압 변동에 따라 변압기의 보조권선을 변환 시키는 회로를 제안하고자 한다.

  • This paper presents issues of display hardware architecture, relating to memory, display driver IC architecture, and chip-to-chip interface. To achieve a low power and low cost mobile phone, not only the display architecture must be carefully selected, but also the driver-ICs optimized to accommodate the different modes of operation found in typical handheld devices. The technique of forming a photo sensor in each pixel using TFT and display module architecture are developed to add multi functions in display such as fingerprint recognition, image scanning, and integrated touch screen. Detailed architectures of IC partitioning, high-speed serial interface, D/A converter, and multi functions such as fingerprint recognition and image scanning using photo sensors are important to a power optimized system.

  • In this paper, the boost converter was implemented by digital control in many applications of the step-up. The PWM(pulse width modulation) control module of boost converter was digitized at power converter using the FPGA device and VHDL. The boost converter was designed to output a fixed voltage through the PI control algorithm of the PWM control module even if input voltage and output load are variable. The boost converter was digitized can be simplified by reducing the size of the module and the external control components. Thus, the digital power IC has advantageous for weight reduction and miniaturization of electronic products because it can be controlled remotely by setting the desired output voltage and PWM control module. The boost converter using the digital power IC was confirmed through experiments and the good performances were showed from experiment results.

Differential Display Analysis of Gene Expression Induced under DCA Treatment in Rat Liver

  • The expression of genes induced by Dichloroacetate (DCA) treatment was analyzed by mRNA differential display. Purified total RNAs from rat liver treated with saline or DCA (100 mg/100 g b.w.) were reverse transcribed by using a set of oligonucleotide primers. The PCR products were resolved on a denaturing sequencing gel. PCR band representing mRNA expressed specifically in DCA-treated liver was excised and reamplified by PCR. A 120-bp c-DNA clone named IC1 was isolated and the DNA sequence of IC1 was analyzed. IC1 revealed 50% homology with 3' end of a mouse fibroblast growth factor mRNA This result indicates that DCA induces the expression of a gene which has a 50% homology with a Mouse fibroblast growth factor, and expression of this gene might be involved in non genotoxic process caused by DCA.

  • Standards related to express the non-flatness of a wafer are reviewed and discussed, for example, bow, warp, and sori. Novel wafer warpage measurement method is proposed for 3D stacked IC application. The new way measures heat transfer from a heater to a wafer, which is a function of the contact area between these two surfaces and in turn, this contact area depends on the wafer warpage. Measurement options such as heating from room temperature and cooling from high temperature were experimentally examined. The heating method was found to be sensitive to environmental conditions. The cooling technique showed more robust and repeatable results and the further investigation for the optimal cooling condition is underway.

  • In this paper, we designed manufactured and design an integrated interface control unit that has compatibility with brightness control unit, color control unit, and existing control unit. As the implementation method the standard of DVI/HDMI transmission method is applied to the data transmission method, and the Sil 1169 IC is used as the applied IC. Brightness control is programmed to have eight levels of brightness control using the AT89C2051. Also, EPM240T100C5 IC was used for image and dimming data processing. As a result, it is compatible with the control unit using the DVI/HDMI transmission method manufactured by each company and can reproduce clear high quality full HD video according to the surrounding brightness through the full color LED display system.

  • New display technologies including LCD and plasma panels and Digital Light Projection (DLP) systems all offer large screens and impressive picture quality. However, flat-panel displays require a sophisticated picture processing to let these panels perform at their optimum levels. This paper explains why motion compensating techniques combined with frame rate conversion and quasi-impulse driving reduces motion blur and film judder for flat panel displays and presents the IC and its system application using this technique.

  • 본 논문은 액정 Driver IC에 사용되a는 내부 기준 clock 발생 및 Voltage Converter에 boosting을 하기 위한 clock을 제공하는 Oscillator 설계 및 구현 하였다 LCD Driver IC에서 발생되는 Oscillator clock 은 고속의 clock신호는 필요로 하지 않으나 LCD display에 관련된 frame 주파수에 직접적인 영향을 주므로 중심 주파수 결정 및 duty비에 따른 주파수 제어가 매우 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 가변 duty를 적용하는 LCD system에 적용할 수 있는 가변 duty oscillator를 소개한다. Process는 0.35um, 12V공정을 사용하였다.
