In this study, a vision-based displacement measurement system is developed to accurately measure the displacement of a structure with locating the camera at arbitrary position. The previous vision-based system brings error when the optical axis of a camera has an angle with the measured structure, which limits the applicability at large structures. The developed system measures displacement by processing the images of a target plate that is attached on the measured position of a structure. To measure displacement regardless of the angle between the optical axis of the camera and the target plate, planar homography is employed to match two planes in image and world coordinate systems. To validate the performance of the present system, a laboratory test is carried out using a small 2-story shear building model. The result shows that the present system measures accurate displacement of the structure even with a camera significantly angled with the target plate.
Objective: This study aimed to investigate the relationship between leg stiffness and kinematic variables according to load while running. Method: Participants included eight healthy men (mean age, $22.75{\pm}1.16years$; mean height: $1.73{\pm}0.01m$; mean body weight, $71.37{\pm}5.50kg$) who ran with no load or a backpack loaded with 14.08% or 28.17% of their body weight. The analyzed variables included leg stiffness, ground contact time, center of gravity (COG) displacement and Y-axis velocity, lower-extremity joint angle (hip, knee, ankle), peak vertical force (PVF), and change in stance phase leg length. Results: Dimensionless leg stiffness increased significantly with increasing load during running, which was the result of increased PVF and contact time due to decreased leg lengths and COG displacement and velocity. Leg length and leg stiffness showed a negative correlation (r = -.902, $R^2=0.814$). COG velocity showed a similar correlation with COG displacement (r = .408, $R^2=.166$) and contact time (r = -.455, $R^2=.207$). Conclusion: Dimensionless leg stiffness increased during running with a load. In this investigation, leg stiffness due to load increased was most closely related to the PVF, knee joint angle, and change in stance phase leg length. However, leg stiffness was unaffected by change in contact time, COG velocity, and COG displacement.

This study was carried out to investigate mechanical characteristics of the uniformly loaded skew-plate at 4 kinds of boundary condition : i) all edges are clamped (BC-1) , ii) all edges are simply supported (BC- 2), iii) two opposite edges are clamped and the other two edges are free (BC-3), and iv )two opposite edges are simply supported and the other two edges are free (BC-4). Various skew angles, 0$^{\circ}$, 10$^{\circ}$, 15$^{\circ}$, 30$^{\circ}$, 40: 45: and 60, of the plate were tested for the above boundary conditions. Resutts obtained from the study are summarized as follows ; 1.The lateral displacement at the center of a skew- plate was decreased as the skewangle increased at all of the boundary conditions. The decrements of the conditions of BC-3 and BC-4 were considerable. And, difference of the displacement between the boundary conditions was decreased as the skew-angle was increased. 2. X-moments (to the Y-axis) at the center of a skew- plate and the minimum principal moments were shown as a similar pattern of change with respect to the skew-angle variation between BC-i and BC-2 and between BC-3 and BC-4, and the pattern of change at the conditions of BC-3 and BC-4 were shown higher rates than those for the conditions of BC-i and BC-2 3.Y-moments (to the X- axis) at the center of a skew-plate and the maximum principal moment were decreased as the skew-angle increased in a similar pattern at all of the boundary conditions. 4.X-moments at the obtuse angle side of a skew-plate were shown as a parabolic pattern of change (frist increased after then decreased) as the skew-angle increased, and a skew-angle resulting the maximum absolute moment was depended on the boundary conditions. 5.Y-moments at the obtuse angle side of a skew-plate were affected by the skewangle much more at the boundary condtions of BC-2 and BC-4 than at the conditions of BC-i and BC-3. 6.Maximum principal moments at the obtuse angle side of a skew-plate at the skew angle of 40$^{\circ}$- 45$^{\circ}$ were resulted almost the same value at all of the boundary conditions .

Recently, a concern to verify the displacement capacity of shear wall has been arised to produce suitable data for the performance based design. In this paper, a process is presented In evaluate the displacement capacity of shear wall. The displacement of shear wall is expressed as the superpositopn of shear and flexural deformation. Variable crack angle truss model with a modification and existing analysis program(XTRACT) are used in calculating shear and flexural displacement, respectively. The accuracy of proposed method is evaluated by the comparison calculation results with previous test results. From the comparison, it was shown that the displacement capacity of shear wall could be well predicted by using the process.
This study was conducted to investigate the technical factors of Lu Yu Fu vault actually performed by three men gymnasts participated in artistic gymnastics competition of 2003 summer Universiade in Daegu through the DLT method of three dimensional cinematography. To analyze these vaults, the instant events of Lu Yu Fu were set in the board touchdown(BTD), the board takeoff(BTO), the horse touchdown(HTD), the horse takeoff(HTO), the peak height(PH), the mat touchdown(MTD) respectively and the phases of that vault were set in the board contact(BC), the preflight(PRF), the horse contact(HC), the postflight(POF), the grounding on mat(GM) respectively After calculating the performance times, the CG displacement velocity, the kinetic energy impulse reaction force moment arm torque at the horse, the released angle piked angle addressed angle, the angular momentum angular velocity of whole body in x axis, and the horizontal displacement between the feet and CG, the following conclusions were reached. To perform the better Lu Yu Fu vault, a gymnast must have the large horizontal velocity of whole body with fast run-up, decrease the duration time and the horizontal vertical displacement of whole body in PRF, have the enough time to judge the correct magnitude and direction of force to brake or push the horse so as to lengthen the HC duration time at any cost. Also it is desirable to increase the horizontal vertical displacement of whole body in POF if possible, maintain the adequate piked position to decrease the angular velocity of whole body in x axis, prepare the grounding on mat previously and delay the release of the hand from the body to keep the angular momentum.
Purpose : The purpose of this study was to analyze setter toss motion kinematically according to toss types. Method : Dependent variables were elapsed time, vertical displacement of the body center, the projected speed of the ball, and differences of the joint angle to the target for four setters positioning. Result : There was no significant difference in the time but the ball contact time was shorter when the toss distance of P3 was longer. There was significant difference in the vertical displacement of COM (p<.05). The vertical displacement of COM showed that the vertical movement gradually decreased when the quick distance was longer. The vertical displacement of COM was difference (p<.05), also there was difference of the ball speed (p<.001) at the Release point(E4). There was significant difference in the knee joint angle at a certain moment among the Release(E4) and Landing point(E5)(p<.05). The hip joint was significant difference among the Apex(E2), Ball Touch(E3), Release(E4), and the Landing point(E5) on the surface(E2, E3, E4 p<.05; E5 p<.005). The shoulder angle was significant difference among the Ball Touch(E3), Release(E4) and the Landing point(E5) on the surface(E3, E4 p<.05; E5 p<.001). The elbow was significant difference in the Apex(E2) (p<.05). The wrist was significant difference in the Release(E4) (p<.05). Conclusion : If we find the clue to expect the direction of the setter's ball, we have to fine the clues in the Apex(E2) that hip join and elbow, Ball Touch(E3) that hip joint and shoulder joint, Release(E4) that wrist, elbow, hip joint, and knee joint.

In this paper, we propose the target detection method using image displacement, and classification method using SURF(Speeded Up Robust Features) feature points and BAS(Beam Angle Statistics) in infrared images. The SURF method that is a typical correspondence matching method in the area of image processing has been widely used, because it is significantly faster than the SIFT(Scale Invariant Feature Transform) method, and produces a similar performance. In addition, in most SURF based object recognition method, it consists of feature point extraction and matching process. In proposed method, it detects the target area using the displacement, and target classification is performed by using the geometry of SURF feature points. The proposed method was applied to the unmanned target detection/recognition system. The experimental results in virtual images and real images, we have approximately 73~85% of the classification performance.
Composite materials are consist of two or more different materials to produce desirable properties for structural strength. Because of their superiority in strength, corrosion resistance, and weight reduction, they are used extensively as structural members. The objective of this study is to present the effectivness of the laminated composite elements by analyzing in-plane displacement and stress of the anisotropic laminated annular elements. Anisotropic laminated structures are very difficult to analyze and apply, compared with isotropic and orthotropic cases for arbitrary boundaries and fiber angle -ply. Boundary conditions for the examples used in this study consist of two opposite edges clamped and the other two edges free, and finite difference method is used in this study for numerical analysis. From the numerical result, it is found that the program used in this study can be used to obtain the displacement of the straight beams considering it's transverse shear deformation as well as anisotropic laminated elements. Several numerical examples show the advantages of the stiffness increase when the angle-ply composite materials are used. Therefore it gives a guide in deciding how to make use of fiber's angle for the subtended angle, load cases, and boundary conditions.

In the case of existing ultrasonic motors, they have characteristics such as outstanding response speed, speed and high efficiency. However, it's very hard to use practically them as small motors due to complicated structure and expensive cost. This paper proposed v-type ultrasonic linear motor. Stator of the motor is composed of thin elastic body and four ceramics attached to upper and bottom areas of the body. The ceramics have each direction of polarization. When two harmonic voltages which had $90^{\circ}$ phase difference were applied to the ceramics, the symmetric and anti-symmetric displacements were generated at the tip to make the elliptical motion. To find out a model that generates maximum displacement at contact tip, FEM program was used with change of leg-angle. In addition, optimal model was chosen by considering magnitude and shape of displacement according to change of frequency.
The vibrational system in this study consists of a cantilever pipe conveying fluid, the moving mass upon it, and an attached tip mass. The equation of motion is derived by using the Lagrange equation. The influences of the velocity and the velocities of fluid flow in the pipe have been studied on the dynamic behavior of a cantilever pipe using a numerical method. While the moving mass moves upon the cantilever pipe, the velocity of fluid flow and the nozzle angle increase; as a result, the tip displacement of the cantilever pipe, conveying fluid, is decreased. After the moving mass passes over the cantilever pipe, the tip displacement of the pipe is influenced by the potential energy of the cantilever pipe and the deflection of the pipe; the effect is the result of the moving mass and gravity. As the velocity of fluid flow and nozzle angle increases, the natural frequency of he system is decreased at the second mode and third mode, but it is increased at the first mode. As the moving mass increases, the natural frequency of the system is decreased at all modes.
