In this study, the atmospheric dispersion of radioactive material ($^{137}Cs$) was simulated with regard to its impact within a 50-km radius from the Kori Nuclear Power Plant (NKPP) based on two different types of models (the non-steady-state puff model CALPUFF and the lagrangian model HYSPLIT) during the spring of 2012 (May 2012). The dispersion distribution of $^{137}Cs$ calculated in the CALPUFF model was similar to that of the HYSPLIT model, but the magnitudes of differences in its spatio-temporal concentrations between the two models were different. The $^{137}Cs$ concentrations simulated by the CALPUFF were significantly lower than those of the HYSPLIT due to a limitation of puff models (e.g. puff size growth over time). The CALPUFF had the advantage of determining the dispersion of radioactive materials and their impacts on the surrounding regions, compared with the HYSPLIT that had high concentrations of $^{137}Cs$ in only small local areas with the movement of air masses along the local winds.
The paper investigates the influence of the rheological parameters which characterize the creep time, the long-term values of the mechanical properties of viscoelastic materials and a form of the creep function around the initial state of a deformation of the materials of the hollow bi-layered cylinder on the dispersion of the flexural waves propagated in this cylinder. Constitutive relations for the cylinder's materials are given through the fractional exponential operators by Rabotnov. The dispersive attenuation case is considered and numerical results related to the dispersion curves are presented and discussed for the first and second modes under the first harmonic in the circumferential direction. According to these results, it is established that the viscosity of the materials of the constituents causes a decrease in the flexural wave propagation velocity in the bi-layered cylinder under consideration. At the same time, the character of the influence of the rheological parameters, as well as other problem parameters such as the thickness-radius ratio and the elastic modulus ratio of the layers' materials on the dispersion curves, are established.

The leaky dispersion characteristics of a circular dielectric rod were investigated using Davidenko's method for several lower-order transverse magnetic(TM) modes. The normalized complex propagation constants were precisely determined and their tolerances below $10^{-10}$ compared with zero for both real and imaginary parts. It was also checked whether the normalized complex propagation constants obtained represented forward leaky waves. The leaky modes existing below the cutoff frequency of the guided mode were classified as a nonphysical mode, reactive mode, antenna mode, and spectral gap based on a precise determination of the complex propagation constants. Finally, the effects of the dielectric constant and radius of the dielectric rod on the leaky dispersion characteristics were also considered.
Liquid fuel can be easily exploded and release more energy of detonation than conventional explosives because it has different explosion mechanism. In order to analyze dispersion characteristics of liquid fuel for the safety purpose, two tests are conducted. First, pre-test, which is a computer simulation, is carried out by a software called ANSYS AUTODYN to eliminate the effect of a canister that usually causes irregular dispersion of the fuel. Second, field test is performed to find out the amount and density effect of bursting charge. High speed cameras are installed in front of the canister to visualize the mechanism. Velocity, area and radius of the dispersed cloud are measured by image processing software, these are shown that the amount of bursting charge affects cloud velocity and area but density is not a significant factor of cloud formation.
In this paper, guided circumferential wave propagating in an orthotropic viscoelastic cylindrical curved plate subjected to traction-free conditions is investigated in the frame of the Kelvin-Voight viscoelastic theory. The obtained three wave equations are decoupled into two groups, Lamb-like wave and SH wave. They are separately solved by the Legendre polynomial series approach. The availability of the method is confirmed through the comparison with the published data of the SH wave for a viscoelastic flat plate. The dispersion curves and attenuation curves for the carbon fiber and prepreg cylindrical plates are illustrated and the viscous effect on dispersion curves is shown. The influences of the ratio of radius to thickness are analyzed.

In this paper, the simulation and modeling of a polyethylene/clay nanocomposite were undertaken to predict the nanocomposite's dielectric behavior and to help design a nanocomposite material with optimum electrical properties for electrotechnical or electronic applications. A 3-D simulation model using the finite elements method was employed in order to study the effective permittivity and electric field distribution of two-phase nanocomposite materials for ordered and random distributions of inclusions in a low-loss host matrix such as polyethylene. The influence of the dispersion of reinforcing particles, and of the permittivity and radius of the inclusions, was analysed. The simulation results were compared with alternative, known theoretical solutions obtained from classical models, and were found to be in good agreement. The numerical results also indicate that for fixed volume fractions of nanoparticles the effective permittivity of the mixture, for ordered and random distributions, does not vary with the degree of dispersion. The variation of the effective permittivity with the particle radius is shown, using numerical data, to agree with the analytical modules.

We present an analysis of the stellar population of compact elliptical galaxies (cEs) in various environments. Following conventional selection criteria of cEs, we created a list of cE candidates in the redshift range of z < 0.05 using SDSS DR12 catalog. We finally selected cEs with low-luminosity (Mg > 18.7 mag), small effective radius (Re < 600 pc), and high velocity dispersion (> 60 kms-1). We divide our cE sample into those inside and outside of the one virial radius of the bright (Mr < -21 mag) nearby host galaxy which is then defined as cEs with (cEw) and without (cEw/o) host galaxy, respectively. We investigated the stellar population properties of cEs based on the Hb, Mgb, Fe 5270, and Fe 5335 line strengths from the OSSY catalog. We found that cEw has a systematically higher metallicity than cEw/o. In the velocity dispersion-Mgb distribution, while cEw/o follows the relation of early-type galaxies, cEw are found to have a systematically higher metallicity than cEw/o at a given velocity dispersion. The different feature in the metallicity between cEw and cEw/o can suggest that two different scenarios can be provided in the formation of cEs. cEw would be the remnant cores of the massive progenitor galaxies that their outer parts have been tidally stripped by massive neighbor galaxies (i.e., nurture origin). On the other hand, cEw/o are likely to be faint-end of early-type galaxies maintaining in-situ evolution (i.e., nurture origin).
Early-type galaxies (ETGs) are supposed to follow the virial relation M ~ sigma^2 * R_e, with M being the galaxy mass, sigma being the stellar velocity dispersion, and R_e being the (2D) effective radius. I apply this relation to (a) the ATLAS3D sample and (b) the sample of Saglia et al. (2016). The two datasets reveal a statistically significant tilt of the empirical relation relative to the theoretical virial relation such that M ~ (sigma^2 * R_e)^0.92 with zero intrinsic scatter. This tilt disappears when replacing R_e with the semi-major axis of the projected half-light ellipse, a. Accordingly, a, not R_e, is the correct proxy for the scale radius of ETGs. By geometry, this implies that early-type galaxies are axisymmetric and oblate in general, in agreement with recent results from modeling based on kinematics and light distributions.
Using the Schwarzschild's linear programming technique, we obtained the general solutions of the collisionless Bolzmann equation describing the spherical galaxy in dynamical equilibrium. From this calculation we have confirmed the existence of isotropic spherical galaxies obeying a de Vaucouleurs'law which includes a dark halo. The flattening profile of the velocity dispersion curve seen in the elliptical galaxies can be explained as the increase of mass to light ratio in this dark matter. The space density distribution of this dark matter shows that the core radius of the dark matter is smaller than the effective radius of the galaxy.
Liquid breakup under the variation of AC frequency has been studied experimentally in the electrohydrodynamic atomization. The effect of parameters such as charging voltage, flow rate, nozzle tip inner diameter and power frequency have been considered. This work was performed to investigate the experimental analysis for the effect of AC frequency on breakup process, the mapping of occurrence of disintegration region, and the relationship between the applied power and the droplet radius. The experimental results show that the increase of applied voltage in a certain frequency band leads to a reduction in the droplet size within the limits from 50Hz to 400Hz. The transition phenomena from dripping mode to spindle mode were observed under the band of sudden fall of droplet radius changing ratio, and the synchronous region were produced within the range of applied voltage from 5kV to 6kV.
