Purpose: The aim of this study was to develop a situation-specific theory to explain the disease management experience of patients with asthma. Methods: Twenty participants with asthma were selected using the theoretical sampling method. The data were acquired through in-depth interviews conducted from June to October 2018 and analyzed using the grounded theory approach of Strauss and Corbin. Results: In total, 69 concepts, 30 subcategories, and 13 categories were generated to explain the disease management experience of patients with asthma. The core category of the disease management experience of patients with asthma was 'management of the disease to prevent aggravation of symptoms over the lifetime'. The disease management process of asthma patients included three steps: the 'cognition phase', the 'adjustment phase', and the 'maintenance phase'. However, some patients remained in the 'stagnation phase' of disease management, which represents the result of the continual pursuit of risky health behavior. There were three types of disease management experiences among patients with asthma: 'self-managing', 'partially self-managing', and 'avoidant'. Conclusion: This study shows that patients with asthma must lead their disease management process to prevent exacerbation of their symptoms. It is imperative to develop nursing strategies and establish policies for effective disease management of patients with asthma based on their individual disease management processes and types.
Purpose: The goal of this study was to define and clarify the concept of "self management" of children with chronic diseases. Methods: For analyzing the concept of self management, this study used the hybrid model. This study involved in-depth interviewing nine children with chronic disease. Results: The concept of self management of children with chronic disease can be categorized with three dimensions: internal, environmental, and behavioral aspects. Besides, five attributes and thirteen indicators were analyzed. The concept of self management of children with chronic disease can be expressed as a kind of process; a) re-established yourself (internal dimension), b) assistance by the surrounded (environmental dimension), and c) positive health management behavior with self control of daily life (behavioral dimension). Conclusion: The self management is important for children with chronic disease to control their disease for long time. The attributes and indicators drawn by this study could be used for tool development and useful resources of self management competence in children with chronic disease.

Objectives: This study identifies the trend of possible occupational disease and probable occupational disease in lead or cadmium workers. It is also required to check the usefulness of follow-up management in lead or cadmium workers by reviewing the relevance between the results of follow-up management and the trend of possible occupational disease and probable occupational disease. Methods: From 2009 to 2018, the results of the Ministry of Employment and Labor's special health-screening program for hazard agents for workers were used. The correlation between the ratio of possible occupational disease and probable occupational disease of lead or cadmium workers and the ratio of those who observed were and underwent observed follow-up management was analyzed to confirm the usefulness of follow-up management. Results: Over the past decade, the average annual proportion of possible occupational disease and probable occupational disease among lead workers has been on the decline. Among cadmium workers, it has generally shown a trend of increasing and decreasing. After the implementation of follow-up management, possible occupational disease in lead workers showed significant relevance to work prohibitions and restrictions, and probable occupational disease in lead workers showed significant relevance to the work prohibitions and restrictions, on-duty treatment, and boundary lines. However, there was no significant correlation between persons involved in cadmium workers. Conclusion: In this study, more active managements such as work ban and restrictions, on-duty treatment among follow-up management of possible occupational disease and probable occupational disease of lead worker and observers are related to a decrease in the ratio of those who have been diagnosed with possible occupational disease and probable occupational disease.
The emergence of highly contagious viral diseases of livestock and poultry such as foot-and-mouth disease (FMD), African swine fever (ASF) and highly pathogenic influenza (HPAI) have necessitated the formulation of policies and regulatory frameworks for preventing ingress of exotic diseases and controlling dissemination of endemic diseases within the country. The disease control ratings to manage contagious livestock disease in farms have not being widely used because the evaluation parameters were not being considered inappropriate. The purpose of this study was to reinforce the validity of the parameters for evaluation factors and the objectivity of the scoring criteria in the application of the current disease management rating system. The diseases subject to intensive management were improved by reflecting farm situation. For the evaluation based on the disease grading system of farms, the diseases subject to intensive management were realized, the list of diseases for evaluating the vaccination rate was revised, and the quarantine and sanitation management standards were revised. The effectiveness of the improved livestock disease management system was confirmed through the application of actual pig farms. Therefore, this system will be used as a means to evaluation the biosecurity at the farm units. Through this, it will contribute to establish effective biosecurity measures for each farm by improving and supplementing the present disease grading system.
The purpose of this study was to investigate role perception, knowledge, self-confidence of practice, and educational needs of child daycare teachers' infectious disease management and to identify their relationship. A correlation study was conducted. Participants were 180 child daycare teachers. Almost eighty percent(78.9%) of participants did not received infectious disease management education. The mean percent of correct answers for infectious disease management knowledge of participants was 52.3% and their self-confidence of practice of infectious disease management was low. However, their role perception of infectious disease management and educational needs were high. Educational needs on 'hand washing and hygiene to prevent infectious diseases', 'blocking transmission of infectious diseases', 'infectious disease specific management and care', and 'infectious disease specific symptoms' were high. Child daycare teachers' role perception of infectious disease was positively correlated with their knowledge and educational needs. Development and evaluation of educational interventions to improve child daycare teachers' infectious disease prevention and management are recommended. Particularly, efforts are needed to improve child daycare teachers role perceptions as infectious disease manager.
Chilli is a widely consumed crop throughout the world. However, chilli anthracnose is a major constraint in chilli production leading to huge economic losses worldwide. Colletotrichum is a large genus of Ascomycete fungi, containing species that cause anthracnose diseases on a wide range of crops of economic value. This review is aimed at critically and accurately examining the taxonomic identification of Colletotrichum species by morphological and molecular approaches as well as assessing their management options. The use of appropriate integrated management practices, such as cultural, mechanical, chemical, and biological control, are important in chilli anthracnose disease prevention and control. Emphasis is laid on the use of biological control because it is cost effective and eco-friendly, and is an appropriate approach for disease management. The use of resistant cultivars is the cheapest, easiest, safest, and most effective means of controlling crop diseases. But, since no resistant cultivars of chilli have been developed and commercialized, it is very important to develop biological management strategies. Further studies leading to integrated disease management strategies need to be carried out.
Purpose: The purpose of study is to estimate the number of chronic disease patients and medical care expenditure at the time baby-boomers belong to 65 years old aging population, and compare with current 65 year-old aging population. Methods: Analysis method used an estimating formula devised by the researcher and estimated the number of chronic disease patients and medical care expenditure of each generation. Results: When comparing the estimated number of chronic diseases patients of each generation, 40.6% of the first generation, 76.4% of the second generation, 95.2% of third generation are expected to get chronic disease. When comparing each generation's total medical care expenditure, based on the estimated number of chronic diseases patients of each generation, the second generation( 1,206,251,224 thousand won) showed higher than other generation. This study compared the number of chronic disease patients and medical care expenditure between the second generation of the elderly and current elder generation. As a result, the second generation patients was higher than the fourth generation in high blood pressure, diabetes, psychological and behavioral disorder, and neurological diseases whereas the fourth generation is only high the number of patients in heart disease. As for total medical care expenditure, the second generation paid more in high blood pressure, psychological and behavioral disorder while the fourth generation in neurological disease and heart disease. Conclusion: It is desired that considering the number of chronic disease patients and medical care expenditure of baby boomers accounting for 14.6% of total population, in-depth follow-up study is carried out that inquires into what are issues with a current chronic disease management project, what business is needed in order to manage these issues, and how to fund to cover increasing medical care expenditure.
This research is purposed to find methods of treatment on allergy diseases, through summarizing thought on human and etiology, classification and treatment on diseases proposed in Sasang constitutional medicine 2. Methods of Research It was researched as bibliologically with Dong-mu's chief medical writings such as ${\ulcorner}$Dongyi Soose Bowon(東醫壽世保元)${\lrcorner}$, ${\ulcorner}$Dongyi Soose Bowon Sasang Chobongyun(東醫壽世保元四象草本卷${\lrcorner}$ 3. Results and Conclusions 1. Dong mu thought that human is composed of Heart that inside preserve soul and Body that outside respond to Affairs-Objects. 3. The cause of disease is classified into interior cause and exterior cause. Interior cause could be used in cause of disease, exterior cause could be used in prevention of illness, treatment of disease and preservation of health. 4. The treatment of disease proposed in ${\ulcorner}$Dongyi Soose Bowon Sasang Chobongyun(東醫壽世保元四象草本卷${\lrcorner}$ is that it is to recover 'Essential Qi of Constitution(體質正氣)' by medicine and management of 'Mind-Body(心身)' and that chronic disease is treated chiefly by management but acute disease is treated chiefly by medicine. 5. Allergy disease should be prevented by management of 'Mind-Body(心身)'. but if we suffer from allergy disease, we should treat disease through recovering 'Essential Qi of Constitution(體質正氣)' both medicine and management of 'Mind-Body(心身)'.
Purpose: The aim of this study was to develop a substantive theory on self-management conducted by the adolescents with chronic kidney disease from their lived experience. Methods: Data was collected through in-depth interviews from May to December in 2015 with thirteen adolescents with chronic kidney disease. The data collected were analyzed on the basis of Strauss and Corbin's grounded theory. Results: The core of the category found in this study was "overcoming the unstable sense of self- control and integrating disease experience into their life". The causal conditions triggering the central phenomenon were "restriction in daily life" and "manifestation and aggravation of symptom". The central phenomenon in the experience of self-management within the adolescents with chronic kidney disease was "unstable sense of self control". The intervening condition for unstable self control were "micro system support" and "motivational resources". This study found that the adolescents with chronic kidney disease followed a series of strategies when they faced the central phenomenon, including; passive coping, reappraisal of illness, active coping, compliance with treatment, controlling physical activity, and adjusting school life. With these strategic approaches, the adolescents with chronic kidney disease could maintain their active lifestyles and achieve their health behaviors. The process of self-management by these adolescents passed through four phases; limited experience caused by diseases, effort for normalization, reorganizing their daily lives, and integration with daily lives and self-management. Conclusion: This Study explored the process and experience of self-management of adolescents with chronic kidney disease. These findings can be used for basis for developing substantive theory and nursing intervention strategy for adolescents with chronic kidney diseases.
Objectives : The objective of this study is to examine the findings of a survey assessing the treatment and management status of individuals with diabetes and pre-diabetes, along with their inclination to participate in the Korean Medicine Chronic Disease Management Program. Methods : The survey focused on individuals with diabetes and pre-diabetes, gathering information on respondents' demographic details, diabetes diagnosis, duration of diabetes, attitudes and experiences regarding Korean medicine diabetes treatment, and their willingness to participate in the 'Korean Medicine Chronic Disease Management Program'. Results : 33.1% of participants reported prior experience with Korean medicine treatment for diabetes. The intention to actively utilize Korean medicine treatment was positively observed, with a response rate of 61.1% expressing a favorable inclination and 8.9% indicating a negative stance. Furthermore, 75.3% of patients expressed their intention to participate in the 'Korean Medicine Chronic Disease Management Program' in the future. Among those expressing this intention, 81.4% stated a preference for the 'Korean-Western medicine combined management' in the chronic disease management Program. Conclusions : Patients' willingness to participate in 'Korean Medicine Diabetes Management Program' is high, but lack of information about Korean medicine is a factor that deprives people of the opportunity to experience Korean medicine treatment, and non-medical factors such as difficulty in visiting and administrative complexity are factors that impede participation in the 'Korean Medicine Chronic Disease Management Program'. It should be considered for improvement when formulating policies.
