  • In this paper, data hiding algorithm using Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) and Arnold Transform is proposed. The secret data is scrambled using Arnold Transform to make it secure. Wavelet subbands of a cover image are obtained using DWT. The scrambled secret data is embedded into significant wavelet coefficients of subbands of a cover image. The proposed algorithm is robust to a variety of attacks like JPEG and JPEG2000 compression, image cropping and median filtering. Experimental results show that the PSNR of the composite image is 1.05 dB higher than the PSNR of existing algorithms and capacity is 25% higher than the capacity of existing algorithms.

  • In this paper, we have introduced a new watermarking method using the Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT). This method has two features. Firstly the trade-off between the quality and the robustness, and between the quality and the capacitance can be controlled. Next, this method use different scheme according to the watermarks. We have also implemented numerical examples for several kinds of attack. It is found that watermarking method in this paper is robust to above attacks.

  • This paper describes Active Noise Control (ANC) using Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) Domain Least Mean Square (LMS) Method. DWT-LMS is one of the transform domain input decorrelation LMS and improves the convergence speed of adaptive filter especially when the input signal is highly correlated. Conventional transform domain LMS's use Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) because it offers linear band signal decomposition and fast transform algorithm. Wavelet transform can project the input signal into the several octave band subspace and offers more efficient sliding fast transform algorithm. In this paper, we propose Wavelet transform domain LMS algorithm and shows its performance is similar to DCT LMS in some cases using ANC simulation.

  • The wavelet transform pair used simultaneously when two wavelets are designed to form an approximate Hilbert transform pair provide excellent property than present DWT(discrete wavelet transform), especially in field that detect wide-band signals like pulse and increase the bit rate at the same bandwidth. In this paper, the two dyadic wavelet bases which form an approximate Hilbert transform pair were designed, and flat delay filter which has the truncated coefficient vector is used in order that the two filters can form Hilbert transform relation in the process of design.

  • This paper proposed an efficient memory scheduling method (E$^2$M$^2$) by which the real-time image compression using 2-dimensional discrete wavelet transform(2-D DWT) is possible in an FPGA chip. In this paper, we assumed that the 2-D DWT was performed as the Mallat-tree. After the memory mapping method was proved in software, the memory controller was designed for an commercial SDRAM IC.

  • In this paper, we explore the application of 2-D dual-tree discrete wavelet transform (DDWT), which is a directional and redundant transform, for image coding. DDWT main property is a more computationally efficient approach to shift invariance. Also, the DDWT gives much better directional selectivity when filtering multidimensional signals. The dual-tree DWT of a signal is implemented using two critically-sampled DWTs in parallel on the same data. The transform is 2-times expansive because for an N-point signal it gives 2N DWT coefficients. If the filters are designed is a specific way, then the sub-band signals of the upper DWT can be interpreted as the real part of a complex wavelet transform, and sub-band signals of the lower DWT can be interpreted as the imaginary part. The quincunx lattice is a sampling method in image processing. It treats the different directions more homogeneously than the separable two dimensional schemes. Quincunx lattice yields a non separable 2D-wavelet transform, which is also symmetric in both horizontal and vertical direction. And non-separable wavelet transformation can generate sub-images of multiple degrees rotated versions. Therefore, non-separable image processing using DDWT services good performance.

  • To meet the usage of discrete wavelet transform (DWT) on potable devices, this paper implements 2-level DWT using a reference many-core processor architecture and determine the optimal many-core processor. To explore the optimal many-core processor, we evaluate the impacts of a data-per-processing element ratio that is defined as the amount of data mapped directly to each processing element (PE) on system performance, energy efficiency, and area efficiency, respectively. This paper utilized five PE configurations (PEs=16, 64, 256, 1,024, and 4,096) that were implemented in 130nm CMOS technology with a 720MHz clock frequency. Experimental results indicated that maximum energy and area efficiencies were achieved at PEs=1,024. However, the system area must be limited 140mm2 and the power should not exceed 3 watts in order to implement 2-level DWT on portable devices. When we consider these restrictions, the most reasonable energy and area efficiencies were achieved at PEs=256.

  • A combined DWT and DCT based watermarking technique of low frequency watermarking with weighted correction is proposed. The DWT has excellent spatial localization, frequency spread and multi-resolution characteristics, which are similar to the theoretical models of the human visual system (HVS). The DCT based watermarking techniques offer compression while DWT based watermarking techniques offer scalability. These desirable properties are used in this combined watermarking technique. In the proposed method watermark bits are embedded in the low frequency band of each DCT block of selected DWT sub-band. The weighted correction is also used to improve the imperceptibility. The extracting procedure reverses the embedding operations without the reference of the original image. Compared with the similar approach by DCT based approach and DWT based approach, the experimental results show that the proposed algorithm apparently preserves superiori mage quality and robustness under various attacks such as JPEG compression, cropping, sharping, contrast adjustments and so on.
