Research to achieve the research objectives consisted of areas that should be considered in developing and implementing support systems for lifelong education for the disabled. The outcome of the area consisted of five things: convergence dilemmas in fields, convergence dilemmas in institutions, convergence dilemmas in eligibility, convergence dilemmas in disability areas, and convergence dilemmas in national administration. And the five areas were considered by interlinked views and contexts. Based on the results of the study, the university's special education department (including vocational special education) was concluded and considered with emphasis on strengthening the role functions of the university's special education system for the support system for lifelong education for the disabled, including the preconditions for establishing the academic identity of lifelong education for the disabled. Through this ideal, it is worth suggesting that the academic identity of lifelong education for the disabled should be established as appropriate based on convergence between the categories of lifelong education and special education based on the practical nature and context of education for the Korean.

  • Purpose With the recent development of Big Data and Artificial Intelligence technology, self-driving technology has developed into three stages (partial self-driving) or four stages (conditional self-driving), it is expected to bring a new paradigm to transportation in the city. Although many researchers are researching related technologies, there is no research on self-driving for disabled persons. In this study, the basic research was conducted based on the assumption that the shared self-driving car used by the disabled person is similar to the special transportation currently driving. Design In this study, data analysis and machine learning techniques were utilized to analyze the mobility patterns of disabled persons by type and to search for leading factors affecting the traffic volume of special transportation. Findings The study found that external physical disorders and developmental disorders often visit general welfare centers, internal organ disorders often visit general hospitals, and the elderly and mental disorders have various destinations. In addition, machine learning analysis showed that the main transportation routes for the disabled person use arterial roads and auxiliary arterial roads and that the ratio of building usage-related variables affecting the use of special transportation for a disabled person is high. In addition, the distance to the subway and bus stops was also mentioned as a meaningful variable. Based on these analysis results, it is expected that the necessary infrastructure for shared self-driving cars for disability person traffic will be used as meaningful research data in the future.

The study designed in-depth interviews with ten disabled people using a grounded theory approach. Through analyzing process, 34 concepts, 15 subcategories, and eight categories were deduced. In axial coding, casual condition, 'Suffering from unknown cause disabilities' and 'Isolated by social cause', context condition, 'Taking discriminative treat for disabilities' impacted on phenomenon, 'Overcoming their conditions by themselves'. Intervening conditions was 'Taking social supports' and action-interaction condition, 'Enjoying public programs' totally lead to consequence in 'Controlling daily life' and 'Exploring their own social roles'. The periods of process were divided three stages, reflecting disabled situation, formation phase of social relation, and self-developing phase. The core category, 'Trying to be recognized as a member of society' incorporated the relationship between and among all categories and explained the process. The study indicates that social education program for the disabled helped to develop themselves as a member of society. Therefore, we suggest there may be a need for training for professionals who work with disabled people to develop social adaptation.

The sample included 90 physicians, 114 nurses at a university hospital in Busan. The data were collected using questionnaires, and were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean score, standard deviation, t-test and one-way ANOVA. Result: When studying the physicians group by itself, SADP scores tended to increase with women physicians, old age, married, higher educational level, more years of experience, medical unit. When studying the nurses group by itself, SADP scores tended to increase with the age of thirty, single, educational level, more years of experience, surgical unit. But not to a statistically significant degree. Conclusion: Findings suggest that the nurses had significantly higher score than the physicians(t=-4.63, p<.001). When studying the physicians group and the nurses group by itself, not to a statistically significant degree.

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to evaluate the prevalence and lifestyle habits of cardiovascular disease (CVD) according to the type of disability in Korean adults compared to adults without disability. Methods: This study was secondary data analysis using the National Health check-up database from 2010 to 2013. Among the total 395,627 adults aged 30~80, the physically disabled (n=21,614) and the mentally disabled (n=1,448) who met the diagnosis criteria were extracted and compared with non-disabled (n=372,565) through 1:2 propensity score matching for nine characteristics. Results: Prior to matching, the prevalence of CVD was 34.4% in individuals without disabilities, accounting for 53.8% in those with physical disabilities and 22.4% in those with mental disabilities, showing significant differences between groups (p<.001). After matching, compared to the individuals without disability, those with physically disabled had significantly higher prevalence of CVD and the average number of CVD (p<.001). The prevalence of hypertension, diabetes, and vascular disease was significantly higher in the physically disabled (p<.05). Drinking was significantly higher in the non-disabled than in the physically and mentally disabled, and smoking was more in the non-disabled than in the mentally disabled. Physical activity was found to be significantly less in both the physically and mentally disabled than in the non-disabled (p<.01). Conclusion: It is necessary to confirm the differences in the prevalence of CVD risk factors and lifestyle according to the type of disability, suggesting the development and verification of health promotion programs including physical activity for CVD prevention in the disabled with CVD risk factors.

In result of the analysis of their interior design, first of all, it is essential solving the problem of limited house space by comparison with the family number. Second, the universal design concept for the family with disabled persons(72.5%), old persons or children is strengthened guaranteeing privacy in small and old interior space. Third, the interior design is focused in increasing communication among family members, because mental and physical obstacle would obstruct accessibility among them. This research shows the importance of the interior design which makes wide social roles contributing to create "welfare society".
