  • 최근의 자동차 기술이 기계적 장치 위주에서 전장부품 특히, 차량의 안전 및 편의 기술로서 발전되고 있어서, 추후 자동차의 경쟁력은 에너지 효율성문제와 안전편의 기술의 적용에 의해 그 경쟁력이 결정될 것으로 판단된다. 본 연구에서는 자동차 운전자 졸림의 검지하기 위한 각종 기술을 소개하고 상용화된 기술의 장단점을 비교하여서, 이의 문제점을 해결하기 위한 복합 센싱기술을 소개한다. 기존의 카메라에 의한 눈동자인식을 기반으로한 직접적인 졸림검지와 운전자의 생체신호를 검출하여 간접적으로 스트레스, 피로도, 졸림을 검출하는 방법을 결합하여, 보다 정확도가 높은 졸림검지가 가능한 알고리즘을 개발하였다.

AMTEC의 소디움액체 순환윅에서 압력손실 및 열손실해석 (Analysis of Pressure Drop and Heat Loss in Liquid Sodium Circulation Wick of AMTEC)

  • AMTEC기술은 열을 직접 전기로 변환시키는 기술로서 소디움을 작동유체로 사용하고 있으며, 작동유체의 순환은 모세관윅을 사용한다. 순환계통에는 증발부윅, 순환윅 및 응축부윅으로 구성되고, 각각의 윅은 소디움의 액체 또는 증기가 순환하면서 압력손실이 발생하므로 소디움의 순환을 위해서는 증발부윅의 모세관압력이 윅내의 총압력손실보다 커야만 한다. 본 연구에서는 100 watt급의 AMTEC시제품설계을 위해 소디움의 순환계통으로 구성되는 증발부윅, 순환윅 및 응축부윅에서의 압력손실과 증발부에서 응축부로의 열손실을 순환윅의 직경과 길이에 대해 분석하여 증발부윅의 소결입자 직경과 순환윅의 설계에 활용하코저 하였으며, 분석결과에서 순환계통의 총압력손실보다 큰 모세관압력을 위해서는 증발부윅의 소결입자크기는 10 ${\mu}m$이 적합한 결과를 얻었다.

miR-372 Regulates Cell Cycle and Apoptosis of AGS Human Gastric Cancer Cell Line through Direct Regulation of LATS2

  • Previously, we have reported tissue- and stage-specific expression of miR-372 in human embryonic stem cells and so far, not many reports speculate the function of this microRNA (miRNA). In this study, we screened various human cancer cell lines including gastric cancer cell lines and found first time that miR-372 is expressed only in AGS human gastric adenocarcinoma cell line. Inhibition of miR-372 using antisense miR-372 oligonucleotide (AS-miR-372) suppressed proliferation, arrested the cell cycle at G2/M phase, and increased apoptosis of AGS cells. Furthermore, AS-miR-372 treatment increased expression of LATS2, while over-expression of miR-372 decreased luciferase reporter activity driven by the 3' untranslated region (3' UTR) of LATS2 mRNA. Over-expression of LATS2 induced changes in AGS cells similar to those in AGS cells treated with AS-miR-372. Taken together, these findings demonstrate an oncogenic role for miR-372 in controlling cell growth, cell cycle, and apoptosis through down-regulation of a tumor suppressor gene, LATS2.

대면적 미세패턴 롤 금형 가공용 초정밀 롤 선반 개발 (An Ultra-precision Lathe for Large-area Micro-structured Roll Molds)

  • We report an ultra-precision lathe designed to machine micron-scale features on a large-area roll mold. The lathe can machine rolls up to 600 mm in diameter and 2,500 mm in length. All axes use hydrostatic oil bearings to exploit the high-precision, stiffness, and damping characteristics. The headstock spindle and rotary tooling table are driven by frameless direct drive motors, while coreless linear motors are used for the two linear axes. Finite element method modeling reveals that the effects of structural deformation on the machining accuracy are less than $1{\mu}m$. The results of thermal testing show that the maximum temperature rise at the spindle outer surface is approximately $0.5^{\circ}C$. Finally, performance evaluations of the error motion, micro-positioning capability, and fine-pitch machining demonstrate that the lathe is capable of producing optical-quality surfaces with micron-scale patterns with feature sizes as small as $20{\mu}m$ on a large-area roll mold.

An Off-line Maximum Torque Control Strategy of Wound Rotor Synchronous Machine with Nonlinear Parameters

  • Belt-driven Starter Generator (BSG) differs from other mild hybrid systems as the crankshaft of vehicle are not run off. Motor permits a low-cost method of adding mild hybrid capabilities such as start-stop, power assist, and mild levels of regenerative braking. Wound rotor synchronous motor (WRSM) could be adopted in BSG system for HEV e-Assisted application instead of the interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM). In practice, adequate torque is indispensable for starter assist system, and energy conversion should be taken into account for the HEV or EV as well. Particularly, flux weakening control is possible to realize by adjusting both direct axis components of current and field current in WRSM. Accordingly, this paper present an off-line current acquisition algorithm that can reasonably combine the stator and field current to acquire the maximum torque, meanwhile the energy conversion is taken into consideration by losses. Besides, on account of inductance influence by non-uniform air gap around rotor, nonlinear inductances and armature flux linkage against current variation are proposed to guarantee the results closer to reality. A computer-aided method for proposed algorithm are present and results are given in form of the Look-up table (LUT). The experiment shows the validity of algorithm.

올리고-dT 자성입자와 측면방향 자기영동을 이용한 초고속 RNA 추출 기술 (High-Speed RNA Isolation Using Magnetic Oligo(dT) Beads and Lateral Magnetophoresis)

  • 본 논문에서는 올리고-dT 자성입자와 측면방향 자기영동 기술을 기반으로 하는 초고속 RNA 추출칩을 소개한다. 센자성 와이어에 유도된 고구배자장에 의해 RNA가 결합된 올리고-dT 자성입자를 분리함으로써 용해된 혈액으로부터 고속으로 RNA를 추출하였다. 유속이 20 ml/h까지 자성입자를 80% 이상의 효율로 분리할 수 있었으며, 분리시간은 총 1분 이내였다. 추출된 시료로부터 단백질에 대한 RNA 흡광비율(absorbance ratio of RNA to protein: A260/A280)이 1.7 이상임을 확인하였고, 따라서 추출된 RNA가 매우 순수함을 보였다. 추출된 RNA를 사용하여 cDNA 합성과 PCR을 수행하였으며, 이로부터 개발된 초고속 RNA 추출칩이 적은 양의 시료만으로 간편하며 빠르고 정교한 RT-PCR을 수행하는데 실용적임을 확인하였다.

Molecular Mechanisms of Generation for Nitric Oxide and Reactive Oxygen Species, and Role of the Radical Burst in Plant Immunity

  • Rapid production of nitric oxide (NO) and reactive oxygen species (ROS) has been implicated in the regulation of innate immunity in plants. A potato calcium-dependent protein kinase (StCDPK5) activates an NADPH oxidase StRBOHA to D by direct phosphorylation of N-terminal regions, and heterologous expression of StCDPK5 and StRBOHs in Nicotiana benthamiana results in oxidative burst. The transgenic potato plants that carry a constitutively active StCDPK5 driven by a pathogen-inducible promoter of the potato showed high resistance to late blight pathogen Phytophthora infestans accompanied by HR-like cell death and $H_2O_2$ accumulation in the attacked cells. In contrast, these plants showed high susceptibility to early blight necrotrophic pathogen Alternaria solani, suggesting that oxidative burst confers high resistance to biotrophic pathogen, but high susceptibility to necrotrophic pathogen. NO and ROS synergistically function in defense responses. Two MAPK cascades, MEK2-SIPK and cytokinesis-related MEK1-NTF6, are involved in the induction of NbRBOHB gene in N. benthamiana. On the other hand, NO burst is regulated by the MEK2-SIPK cascade. Conditional activation of SIPK in potato plants induces oxidative and NO bursts, and confers resistance to both biotrophic and necrotrophic pathogens, indicating the plants may have obtained during evolution the signaling pathway which regulates both NO and ROS production to adapt to wide-spectrum pathogens.

Ionotropic Receptor 76b Is Required for Gustatory Aversion to Excessive Na+ in Drosophila

  • Avoiding ingestion of excessively salty food is essential for cation homeostasis that underlies various physiological processes in organisms. The molecular and cellular basis of the aversive salt taste, however, remains elusive. Through a behavioral reverse genetic screening, we discover that feeding suppression by $Na^+$-rich food requires Ionotropic Receptor 76b (Ir76b) in Drosophila labellar gustatory receptor neurons (GRNs). Concentrated sodium solutions with various anions caused feeding suppression dependent on Ir76b. Feeding aversion to caffeine and high concentrations of divalent cations and sorbitol was unimpaired in Ir76b-deficient animals, indicating sensory specificity of Ir76b-dependent $Na^+$ detection and the irrelevance of hyperosmolarity-driven mechanosensation to Ir76b-mediated feeding aversion. Ir76b-dependent $Na^+$-sensing GRNs in both L- and s-bristles are required for repulsion as opposed to the previous report where the L-bristle GRNs direct only low-$Na^+$ attraction. Our work extends the physiological implications of Ir76b from low-$Na^+$ attraction to high-$Na^+$ aversion, prompting further investigation of the physiological mechanisms that modulate two competing components of $Na^+$-evoked gustation coded in heterogeneous Ir76b-positive GRNs.

전동기 일체형 편로드 유압액추에이터의 기동 및 정지특성해석 (Start and Stop Characteristics of Single-Rod Electro-Hydrostatic Actuator)

  • 전동기 일체형 유압액추에이터(EHA)는 전기모터와 직결되어 구동되는 유압펌프를 이용하여 유압 피스톤의 변위나 속도를 제어할 수 있도록 모듈화된 유압기기로 효율이 높고 독립된 동력원을 갖는 장점으로 인하여 항공기의 전자구동시스템에 적용되어 왔다. 최근에는 다양한 형태의 유압시스템이 적용되고 있는 건설중장비 분야에서 엔진과 전기모터를 결합한 하이브리드 기술이 개발됨에 따라 EHA의 활용범위가 확대될 것으로 예상된다. 본 연구에서는 편로드 유압실린더를 갖는 EHA가 적용된 유압시스템을 대상으로 펌프작동에 따른 유압실린더의 기동 및 정지특성을 고찰하기 위하여 EHA 내부 유압회로의 기능을 파악하고 동특성 모델을 유도하였으며 파일럿작동 체크밸브의 크래킹압력을 분석하여 개방 및 폐쇄특성을 예측하였으며 시뮬레이션을 통하여 분석된 결과를 검증하였다.

연비 개선 및 CO2 저감을 위한 승용디젤 차량의 클러치타입 워터펌프 적용에 따른 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Clutch Type Water Pump of Diesel Passenger Vehicle for Reducing Fuel Consumption and CO2 Emission)

  • A typical cooling system of an engine relies on a water pump that circulates the coolant through the system. The pump is typically driven by the crankshaft through a mechanical link with engine starting. In order to reduce the friction and warm-up time of an engine, the clutch-type water pump (CWP) was applied in 2.0 liter diesel vehicle. The clutch-type water pump can force cooling water to supply into an engine by the operation of an electromagnetic clutch equipped as the inner part of pump system. The onset of CWP is decided by temperature of cooling water and engine oil. And, the control logic for an optimal operation of the clutch-type water pump was developed and applied in engine and vehicle tests. In this study, the warm-up time was measured with the conventional water pump and clutch-type water pump in engine tests. And the emission and the fuel consumption were evaluated under NEDC mode in vehicle tests. Also, tests were carried out for the various temperature conditions starting the operation of CWP. From the results of the study, the application of CWP can improve the fuel consumption and $CO_2$ reduction by about 3%.
