This paper presents a new direct seek control scheme that provides fast data access capability and robust performance for high-speed rotational optical disk drives (ODD). When a disk is rotating at a high speed to obtain fast data transfer in ODD, the magnitude and frequency of velocity disturbance caused by eccentric rotation of the disk increase in proportion to the rotational speed of the disk. Such disturbances make it almost impossible for the conventional seek control scheme to achieve stable and satisfactory seek performance. We analyze the problems that may arise when the conventional seek control scheme is applied to the high-speed rotational ODD and propose a new direct seek control scheme that will solve such problems. In the proposed scheme, a seek control system is designed such that its performance is guaranteed for a set of plants with parameter perturbations. The performance of the proposed seek control scheme is shown by experiments using a high-speed rotational ODD.
This paper presents a direct seek control algorithm for swing-arm type dual stage servo system that consists of a coarse actuator and a fine actuator. The proposed scheme is to design a control system that attenuates the effect of dynamic coupling between the two actuators so that the seek operation can be performed in a single-shot with stability. In an optical drive system with dual stage servo mechanism, the effect of dynamic coupling between the two actuators needs to be handled during the coarse seek operation due to its inherent structure. In an extreme case, the two actuators can collide each other, which leads to critical degradation of the seek performance. To handle this problem, our proposed control scheme is to generate the drive signals such that the two actuators behave as if they are a single fixed body. To this end, a feedforward controller and two feedback controllers are designed that enable the current drive system perform wide range of track seek. Simulation results are provided to show the validity and feasibility of our proposed algorithm.

Optical disk drive has excellent advantage of random accessibility of which performance is measured by access time. However, due to the increased rotational velocity of the disk and constraints of mechanical structure, two-stage seek algorithm which executes coarse and fine seeks sequentially has been adopted in most commercial optical disk drives. Although the laser spot is moved to a target track by a single seek operation, the limited operation range of the fine actuator restricts the application of the fine seek algorithm below a few hundreds of tracks. Especially, excessive movement of the objective lens causes a failure in generation of track-cross pulse and results in an unstable seek operation. In this paper, a new control algorithm for extending the fine seek range is proposed with an appropriate control structure. The coarse actuator is utilized to reduce the misalignment between the objective lens and the laser beam axis, and the fine actuator is controlled to follow the reference velocity trajectory. The proposed algorithm is applied to a CD-ROM drive to show its feasibility and some experimental results are presented.
In this work, we propose combining an advanced optimal control algorithm with a geometrically exact beam model. For simplicity, the 2D Reissner beam model is chosen to represent large displacements and rotations. The difficulty pertains to the nonlinear nature of beam kinematics affecting the tangent stiffness matrix, making it non-constant, which compromises direct use of optimal control methods for linear problems. Thus, we seek to accommodate a time varying control using linear-quadratic regulator (LQR) algorithm with the proposed geometrically nonlinear beam model. We provide a detailed theoretical formulation and its numerical implementation in a variational format form. Several illustrative numerical examples are provided to confirm an excellent performance of the proposed methodology.
Purpose: The purpose of the study is to learn the importance of self-directed learning about career-preparation behavior of department of dental technology students. Methods: Using the questionnaire, the department of dental technology in Gyeongnam Province conducted a survey of students of department of dental technology at A and B college for one month from May 15, 2019 through June 15, 2019, and finally 204 students were surveyed for Self-esteem, Self-determination, Self-efficacy, Internal control, College life adaptation, Self-directed learning, and Career-preparation behavior. Results: Self-esteem among students has been shown to improve self-directed learning by increasing the stress of college life, and self-efficacy has only a direct effect on self-directed learning. In addition, self-determination and internal control of department of dental technology students were found to be variables that have a common positive effect on college life adaptation and self-directed learning. In addition, college life adaptation gives direct positive effect to self-directed learning, but indirect effect through self-directed learning was found to be stronger than direct effect on career-preparation behavior, and the career-preparation behavior of students was further strengthened through self-directed learning. Conclusion: The changes in college restructuring and various policies also suggest that students should actively seek ways to instill certainty about their major's vision and career path within the college rather than deciding their future through extreme measures such as academic secession at a time when anxiety and uncertainty about their career is strong.
This study, by applying the experiential and psychological thought category of "impression" as the space design strategy for drawing out "sensitivity," aims to break down the psychological mechanism forming the image held by the subject, and based on such segmentation, seek and strategize an effective design methodology. The subject's memory, pure sensation, and movement sensation are set as the preceding determinants comprising the psychological mechanism of space impression. The control determinants for achieving activation of psychological effect are reinterpreted as the relations of memory-cognition, sensation-perception, and movement-sensation and categorized into a cognitive strategy based on association, metaphor and remembrance; a direct sensation strategy based on formation, superposition and transposition of sensation; and a sensation strategy of process-formation based on expectation organization and reversal, contraction and relaxation. Each strategy is achieved through the formal, material and structural control of architecture. As a restructuring of the design methodology that has been experientially applied, the strategy categorization is important in that, by presenting the usefulness and effect by strategy according to space experience, it makes concrete the basic data that are useful for designing experience of sensitivity.
This study was conducted to survey the situation of direct rice seeding in Honam province in Korea to investigate problems and seek countermeasure of weed control in direct rice seeding. The total area of direct rice seeding in the south-western part of Korea (Chonbuk, Chonnam, and Chungnam) was 1650.8ha (732.1ha for direct seeding in dry field and 918.7ha for direct seeding in flooding field) in 1992. The followings are summary of the study. 1. In case of direct rice seeding in dry field, butachlor EC and G at 3 to 5 DAS was mostly selected by farmers to control weeds in dry field. Benthiocarb or chlornitrofen was also used in few cases. At 10 to 14 DAS just before rice emergence, tank misture of butachlor EC and paraquat was treated by some farmers. At 35 to 40 days, after flooding mixture of sulfonylurea derivatives was sequentially applied. Surviving weeds including barnyardgrass were finally controlled by mixture of bentazon+quinclorac WP foliage application. 2. In case of direct rice seeding in flooding field, weed control were mostly unsuccessful partially due to wrong selection of herbicide and missing the optimum application time. Three relatively successful weed control in the survey were summarized as follows. 1) Oxadiazon EC, butachlor or benthiocarb were treated just after puddling(5 to 7 days before seeding). then mixture of bentazone+quinclorac WP or sulfonylurea derivatives was sequently applied to control remaining weeds at 20 days after seeding. 2) Mixtures of bensulfuronmethyl+dimepiperate G, pyrazosulfuronethyl+molinate G, or bensulfuronmethyl+mefenacet+dymron G were applied at 11 days after puddling when barnyardgrass were at 2.0 leaf stage. Phytotoxicity was not found in case of mixture of bensulfuronmethyl+dimepiperate G but found in the other two cases but disappeared later. 3) Mixtures of bensulfuronmethyl+quinclorac G., pyrazosulfuronethyl+quinclorac G or betazone and quinclorac G were treated after 18 to 20 days after puddling when barnyardgrass was within 3.0 leaf stage. It showed good weed control in both annuals and perrenials without phytotoxicity. On the contrary, other sulfonylurea derivatives such as middle periodic herbicide showed poor weed control against barnyardgrass, so that sequential treatment of bentazone+quinclorac WP mixture was required. 3. Herbicidal characteristics and optimum application time of 45 rigistered herbicides in Korea were analyzed to discover new substitute for quinclorac mixture, that showed excellent weed control against barnyardgrass at its 3 leaf stage or older. The analysis revealed that 70% of herbicides were for preemergence and the others were post periodic herbicide. Most farmers favor to apply herbicide when rice seedlings completely rooted, at this time barnyardgrass are at 2.5-3.0 leaf stage. Therefore herbicide of which optimum application time had long is required. In this study. 6 middle periodic herbicides among sulfonylurea derivatives and 2 quinclorac mixture were selected and evaluated their weeding spectrums at different leaf stage of barnyardgrass in both soil application in flooding condition and foliage application in dry paddy field. The order of weeding spectrum in magnitude was as follows : bentazone+quinclorac WP> bentazone + quinclorac G>bensulfuronmethyl + quinclorac G>pyrazosulfuronethyl + quinclorac G> pyrazosulfuronethyl + Molinate G>bensulfuronmethyl + mefenacet + dymron G>bensulfuronmethyl + mefenacet G>bensulfuron methyl+benthiocarb G. The above results coincided with that of the survey. In conclusion, there is no proper substitute for quinclorac mixrure, which can control barnyardgrass at 3.0 leaf stage or even older. Therefore quinclorac should be supplied continuously to farmers in order to anchor direct rice seeding in Korea. Author suggested the followings to eastablish direct rice seeding technology effectively and quickly : 1) A tentatively named "The research committee for direct rice seeding" which was composed of farmers. researchers and goberment. should be eastablished to cooperate effectively. 2) Development of a pricise direct rice seeding machine for both dry and flooding paddy field. which is workable regardless of condition and varieties of seeds. 3) Study on protecting rice seed and seedling from sparrows. 4) Systematic studies of weed control techniques in direct rice seeding to standardize herbicide application. 5) Studies on farm-land reformation. techniques of precise land preparation. and direct rice seeding using an airplane.
In this paper, the lessons and learns are introduced from the result of the trial project which is the first CBTC(Communication Based Train Control System) at Korail Bundang Line. This project has started end of 2002 and finished recently by Samsung SDS. The main purpose of this project was that new technology was seek for next generation of railway signal control system adapted in Korea. In 2002, there was no any revenue service system using Radio Frequency CBTC in the world at that time. Just a few trial project was on going in USA and EU. In well developed cities, the metro system have been built and old enough therefore they have to be considering re-signalling their existing system with advanced system for increasing availabilities of line usage and safety. This Bundang Line Trial Project was the first Korean CBTC project for above reasons. Most sub systems have been developed using local technology such as Electronics Controlled Interlocking System and Track Circuit Systems etc. Specially, in this project the RF-Communication devices are developed by local technology using DSSS(Direct Sequency Spread Spectrum) instead of FHSS(Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum). This project has lasted for more than five years originally planned for three years because it was only accessible only night time in the main line from Ori to Suseo about 20km long. Each night only 2 and half hours are available to use the main line. Now the trial project has been done successfully with meet the customer's requirement, therefore the upgrade the mainline of Bundang line and another extension area up to Wangsipli to make revenue service using this new technology. This paper shows this result of the trial project and the strategy of upgrade and extension project as well.
This research purposes to investigate parameters which effect on the relapse of alcoholism, to understand psychological factors for stress control and drinking anticipation which lead to the relapse of female alcoholism and to seek practical ways in social welfare for alcoholism, focusing on the traumatic experiences and post traumatic stress symptoms of female alcoholics experienced physical, sexual abuses. The main results of this research can be summarized as follows. First, the characteristic related with physical, sexual traumatic experiences of subjects is that physical, sexual abuses by acquaintances under 18 is more common than that experiences over 18. Second, the 8 pathes among 10 direct pathes are statistically significant. Third, as the result of verification of indirect effects through parameters, in the model, 4 out of 6 indirect pathes parameterized as post traumatic stress symptoms, problem focused coping, and drinking anticipation are significant. Based on these results, the practical implications for the warning of relapse of female alcoholics had been discussed.

Citizen media campaigns have completely collapsed with governance. As a result, the intellectuals who have expertise in the media have lost their place in the discussion and presentation of the policy alternatives in which the policy production is centered. The influence of citizen media organizations, which are centered on activists rather than citizen's direct action, is limited. In order to strengthen the power of the media reform, it is necessary to reconstruct social forces such as civil society, media unions, media organizations and political forces. We should also look for various ways in which citizens can participate actively in the agenda and activities of the movement. In addition, it is necessary to expand the movement of the media.
