3DEC을 이용한 일정수직하중 조건에서의 전단강도에 관한 연구 (A Study on Shear Strength under Constant Normal Load Conditions by Using 3DEC)

  • 암반 구조물의 안정성에 결정적인 영향을 미치는 절리의 특성을 파악하기 위해서는 일반적으로 직접전단시험을 통한 연구가 수행되고 있으나, 본 연구에서는 3차원 개별요소법에 근거한 3DEC을 사용하여 직접전단시험을 수치해석적으로 수행하였다. 톱니각과 강도가 상이한 인공 절리시험편에 대해 수직하중을 4단계로 변화시켜가며 일정수직하중 조건에서 실험실 직접전단시험으로 최대전단강도를 측정하였다. 그리고 실내시험을 통해 얻은 시험편의 역학적 물성으로 수치해석 모델링을 수행하였고, 획득한 전단강도를 실험실 직접전단시험으로 수행한 전단강도와 비교 분석하였다. 그 결과 개별요소법에 의한 수치해석은 암반의 전단거동을 잘 모사할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

  • Laminar two-dimensional time-dependent flow past a circular cylinder is numerically investigated using direct numerical simulation for the low Reynolds number (Re=164∼280). The higher-order finite difference scheme is employed for the spatial distributions along with the second order Adams-Bashforth and the first order backward-Euler time integration. The convection term is applied by the 7th order up wind scheme and the pressure and viscosity terms are applied by the 4th order central difference. The grid system makes use of the regular grid system and it is generated by an equation. The calculated results of drag coefficients, lift coefficients, pressure distributions, and vorticity contours and other information are compared with experimental and numerical ones. These results obtained by the present DNS show good agreement with the previous studies.

우각부 방파제의 안전성에 영향을 미치는 수리학적 거동 (Hydraulic Behavior Affecting the Safety of Reflected Breakwater)

  • A reflected breakwater can be affected by wave pressure and power because it is to be concentrated by wave energy. The present study is to estimate hydraulic behavior affecting around a reflected breakwater, which is discontinuity cases and various angle of coner at the breakwater. The numerical model to investigate wave diffraction, which is important hydraulic factor in the ocean, is performed by using direct boundary element method. The present numerical results are compared with the solutions of approximate and absolute based on an eigenfunction, and the solution of analytical by Fresnel integral. The results of the present numerical simulation agreed well with those of the published numerical and analytical data. As a result of this study, wave height is high at the comer of breakwater, and it is to be high if angle of conner at the reflected breakwater is small.

FFT 방법을 이용한 음압복사에 대한 Rayleigh Integral 의 수치해석적 연구 (Numerical Evaluation of The Rayleigh Integral Using the FFT Method for Transient Sound Radiation)

  • 이 논문에서는 무한 격리벽내의 가장자리가 고정된 원형평판으로부터의 음압복사를 FFT 기법을 이용하여 계산하였다. 음장은 컴퓨터 계산시간을 절약하기 위해 Rayleigh integral 을 직접 수치해석적으로 구하는 대신에 공간영역에서 2차원 FFT 방법을 이용하였다. 그 결과 1/200의 시간을 절약할 수 있었다. FET방법은 원형평판형상 뿐만아니라 어떤 형상에도 적용 가능하며 복잡한 형상의 근거리 및 원거리 음장을 예측하는데 상당히 유효하다.

  • When exposed to uniform magnetic fields externally applied, paramagnetic particles acquire dipole moments and the induced moments interacting with each other lead to the formation of chainlike structures or clusters of particles aligned with the field direction. A direct simulation method, based on the Maxwell stress tensor and a fictitious domain method, is applied to solve flows with magnetic chains in simple shear flow. We assumed that the particles constituting the chains are paramagnetic, and inertia of both flow and magnetic particles is negligible. The numerical scheme enables us to take into account both hydrodynamic and magnetic interactions between particles in a fully coupled manner, enabling us to numerically visualize breakup and reformation of the chains by the combined effect of the external field and the shear flow. Simple shear flow with suspended magnetic chains is solved in a periodic domain for a given magnetic field. Dynamics of interacting magnetic chains is found to be significantly affected by a dimensionless parameter called the Mason number, the ratio of the viscous force to the magnetic force in the shear flow. The effect of particle area fraction on the chain dynamics is investigated as well.

음향방사문제에서 직접경계요소법의 비유일성 회피방법에 관한 고찰 (Investigation on Method Avoiding Non-uniqueness of Direct Boundary Element Method in Acoustic Wave Radiation Problem)

  • 직접경계요소법은 음향방사문제 해석에 널리 적용되는 수치해석기법중 하나이지만, 외부 음향방사 문제에 있어서는 방사면 내부공간의 고유주파수 근방에서 비유일성이 나타나게 된다. 이를 해결하기 위한 방법으로 CHIEF 방법이 일반적으로 적용되어 왔으며, 최근 들어서는 ICA-Ring 방법과 같은 새로운 기법이 제안되어 해의 정확도 향상에 기여하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 앞서 언급한 두 가지 비유일성 회피기법들의 특성을 살피고, 각각의 기법 구현을 포함한 직접경계요소법 기반의 수치해석 코드를 작성한다. 또한, 법선방향 균일속도로 진동하는 구의 음향방사문제에 대한 수치해석을 수행하고 그 결과를 해석 해와 비교하여 각각의 기법들에 대한 비유일성 회피 성능을 고찰한다.

선형 주기시스템의 제어 및 수치해석적 절차 수립에 관한 연구 (Development of the Numerical Procedures for the Control of Linear Periodic Systems)

  • The scope of this paper is focused to the systems which have the time period and they should be necessarily studied in the sense of stability and design method of controller to stabilize the orignal unstable systems. In general, the time periodic systems or the systems having same motions during certain time interval are easily found in rotating motion device, i.e., satellite or helicopter and widely used in factory automation systems. The characteristics of the selected dynamic systems are analyzed with the new stability concept and stabilization control method based on Lyapunov direct method. The new method from Lyapunov stability criteria which satisfies the energy convergence is studied with linear algebraic method. And the numerical procedures are developed with computational programming method to apply to the practical linear periodic systems. The results from this paper demonstrate the usefulness in analysis of the asymptotic stability and stabilization of the unstable linear periodic system by using the developed simulation procedures.

  • This paper presents a 'mixed' method for performing the sensitivity analysis for multibody dynamics. The mixed method uses both the analytical derivation and the numerical evaluation, in which premitive derivations rely on the analytical process and their associated individual terms are evaluated by the numerical precess. Therefore, this method can eliminate difficulty in dervation of the direct differentiation. Furthermore, by using the joint coordinate formulation for the equations of motion, compulational efficiencyand numerical accuracy are achieved.

  • A direct solver for the Legendre tau approximation for the two-dimensional Poisson problem is proposed. Using the factorization of symmetric eigenvalue problem, the algorithm overcomes the weak points of the Schur decomposition and the conventional diagonalization techniques for the Legendre tau approximation. The convergence of the method is proved and numerical results are presented.

  • A second-order conditional moment closure(CMC) model is applied to the prediction of local extinction in a turbulent hydrocarbon diffusion flame and compared with direct numerical simulation(DNS) results for the flame. Combustion of a hydrocarbon fuel is described by a simple two-step mechanism. A second-order correction for conditional mean reaction rate terms is made by the assumed pdf method. The results show that the second-order closure is necessary for accurate prediction of intermediate species, while first-order CMC gives good predictions for fuel, oxidant, product and temperature. Conditional variances and covariances are well predicted during an extinction process while they are overpredicted during a reignition process.
