A simulation study of a current-mode direct current (DC)-DC boost converter is presented in this paper. This converter, with a fully-integrated power module, is implemented by using bipolar complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (BiCMOS) technology. The current-sensing circuit has an op-amp to achieve high accuracy. With the sense metal-oxide semiconductor field-effect transistor (MOSFET) in the current sensor, the sensed inductor current with the internal ramp signal can be used for feedback control. In addition, BiCMOS technology is applied to the converter, for accurate current sensing and low power consumption. The DC-DC converter is designed with a standard 0.35 ${\mu}m$ BiCMOS process. The off-chip inductor-capacitor (LC) filter is operated with an inductance of 1 mH and a capacitance of 12.5 nF. Simulation results show the high performance of the current-sensing circuit and the validity of the BiCMOS converter. The output voltage is found to be 4.1 V with a ripple ratio of 1.5% at the duty ratio of 0.3. The sensing current is measured to be within 1 mA and follows to fit the order of the aspect ratio, between sensing and power FET.

These days, the advantages of DC power system are consistently stand out in korea that was a small power loss and high stability. Needs of DC power transmission technology is focused In the midst of a smart grid and environment friendly generation technology boom that is needed for next generation technology. Researches and businesses for HVDC(High Voltage Direct Current) system has been began. But, Needs of HVDC equipment and system commissioning technology are not on the rise until now. In particular, South Korea's HVDC technology is after the foot runner of advanced country and company. In addition, There is no experience for equipment verification and commissioning technology. And Experts of HVDC are rare. Who has been fully understood hardware and system as a whole, and identified all the equipment's characteristic. Recently, Academia and industry are recognized a needs of HVDC technology. But it does not received a recognition of technical value. In this paper, introduce issues when we apply the IEEE's verification method for HVDC system, especially DC current measurement system, DC CT(Direct Current Transformer), among the HVDC equipments. And Proposes remedial methods on the issue in order to recognize the necessity that was HVDC equipments's verification and commissioning technology research should be focused on.

In order to analyze the power consumption pattern of the DC urban rail system, the method to obtain a solution establishing the current equation according to fixed position of the substation and varying position of the train is used. The proposed analysis method using the network analysis is to model the transfer function of the component constituting a direct current power supply system (dc substation, train, catenary) to the voltage and current. By multiplying the model formula consecutive, it can calculate the voltage and current of each element of power supply circuit and shows a simple case analysis.

To review application of HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) transmission line to HVAC T/L in operation, reduced-scale model was designed and manufactured. The arms of model were designed to change height and interval of conductors. Electrical environmental interferences were estimated by various configuration of AC 345kV and DC 250kV T/L. The interferences such as electric field intensity and ion current density were measured and converted reduced-scale factor to full-scaled. Additionally, effects between AC and DC T/L were studied.
The proposed technical work attempts to compare the two key technologies of power distribution, i.e. direct current (DC) and alternating current (AC) in a fiscal manner. The DC versus AC debate has been around since the earliest days of electric power. Here, at least four types of a low voltage DC (LVDC) distribution are examined as an alternative to the existing medium voltage AC (MVAC) distribution with an economic assessment technique for a project investment. Besides, the sensitivity analysis will be incorporated in the overall economic analysis model to cover uncertainties of the input data. A detailed feasibility study indicates that many of the common benefits claimed for an LVDC distribution will continue to grow more profoundly as it is foreseen to arise with the increased integration of renewable energy sources and the proliferation of energy storage associated with the enhanced utilization of uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems.

This paper studies the radio frequency to direct current (RF-DC) conversion efficiency of rectennas applicable to wireless power transfer systems, where multiple receive antennas are arranged in serial, parallel or cascaded form. To begin with, a 2.45 GHz dual-diode rectifier is designed and its equivalent linear model is applied to analyze its output voltage and current. Then, using Advanced Design System (ADS), it is shown that the rectifying efficiency is as large as 66.2% in case the input power is 15.4 dBm. On the other hand, to boost the DC output, three composite rectennas are designed by inter-connecting two dual-diode rectifiers in serial, parallel and cascade forms; and their output voltage and current are investigated using their respective equivalent linear models. Simulation and experimental results demonstrate that all composite rectennas have almost the same RF-DC conversion efficiency as the dual-diode rectifier, yet the output of voltage or current can be significantly increased; in particular, the cascade rectenna obtains the highest rectifying efficiency.

In recent years, the proliferation of DER (distributed energy resources) is progressing rapidly. In particular, research on LVDC distribution grid with various advantages has begun. In order to commercialize this LVDC grid, direct current protection method should be established by analysis of DC faults. Recently, the development of HSCB (high-speed circuit breaker) for new ${\pm}750[V]$ LVDC grid has been researched. This paper deals with the calculation of the maximum short-circuit fault current of the HSCB as a part of the development of HSCB for the LVDC distribution grid. First, modeling using PSCAD was carried out for PV array with BESS on the Gochang Power Test Center system. Next, to calculate the rated capacity of HSCB, fault currents were calculated and the characteristics were analyzed through fault simulations. Thus, this study results can help to establish short-circuit capacity calculation of HSCB and protection plan for DC protection relay system.
This study investigates the application of alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) anodization techniques on stainless steel 304L (SS304L) in an ethylene glycol and ammonium fluoride (NH4F) electrolyte solution to produce a nano-porous oxide layer. With limited research on AC anodizing of stainless steel, this study focuses on comparing AC and DC anodization in terms of current density versus time response, phase analysis using X-ray diffraction (XRD), and corrosion rate determined by linear polarization. Both AC and DC anodization were performed for 60 minutes at 50 V in an electrolyte solution containing 0.5% NH4F and 3% H2O in ethylene glycol. The results show that AC anodization exhibited higher current density compared to DC anodization. XRD analysis revealed the presence of ferrite (α-Fe) and austenite (γ-Fe) phases in the as-received specimen, while both AC and DC anodized specimens exhibited only the γ-Fe phase. The corrosion rate of the AC-anodized specimen was measured at 0.00083 mm/year, lower than the corrosion rate of the DC-anodized specimen at 0.00197 mm/year. These findings indicate that AC anodization on stainless steel offers advantages in terms of higher current density, phase transformation, and lower corrosion rate compared to DC anodization. These results highlight the need for further investigation and exploration of AC anodization as a promising technique for enhancing the electrochemical properties of stainless steel.
This paper presents a fast switching direct torque control (FS-DTC) using only a single DC-link current sensor. In FS-DTC, six new active voltage complex space vectors (CSVs) are synthesized by the conventional active voltage space vectors (SVs). The corresponding sectors are rotated in the anticlockwise direction by 30 degrees. A selection table is defined to select the CSVs. Based on the "Different Phase Mode", the output sequence of the selected CSV is optimized. Accordingly, a reconstruction method is proposed to acquire the phase currents. The core of the FS-DTC is that all of the three phase currents can be reliably reconstructed during every two sampling periods, which is the result of the fast switching between different phases. The errors between the reconstructed and actual currents are strictly limited in one sampling period. The FS-DTC has the advantages of the standard DTC scheme such as simple structure, quick torque response and robustness. As can be seen in the analysis, the FS-DTC can be thought of as an equivalent standard DTC scheme with 86.6% of the maximum speed, 173.2% of the torque ripple, and 115% of the response time of the torque. Based on a dSPACE DS1103 controller, the FS-DTC is implemented in an induction machine drive system. The results verify the effectiveness of the FS-DTC.
