  • In this paper, we designed the 3-axis isotropic electric-field measurement probe using resistor-loaded short dipole with lumped chip resistors. The designed probe shows good isotropic characteristics as well as wideband and low sensitivity. The isotropic characteristics of ${\pm}0.39dB$ from 100 kHz to the 3 GHz band were derived and the reception sensitivity was 0.1 V/m. The frequency response is within 3 dB of the whole section, especially ${\pm}1.3dB$ from 150 kHz to 3 GHz, which is superior to the conventional electric field probe with short dipoles.

  • In this research, we studied the variation of the dielectric loss absorption of the dielectric loss absorption of the sample according with the change to $\^$60/Co-${\gamma}$-ray irradiation dose of the influence of temperature and applied voltage. In order to investigate the effect of irradiation oriented polypropylene film, we have observed dissipation factor within the temperature range of 30∼130 [$^{\circ}C$] and voltage range of 100∼250$^{\circ}C$ [V]. As for the dependency of temperature by dissipation factor, the ${\alpha}$-peak which appears at high temperature increases accordingly to the increasement of irradiation dose which is contributed by the crystal region and moves towards the high temperature. The ${\beta}$-peak which appears at low temperature is origined from dipoles and molecular motions in the amorphous region. As for the dependency of voltage by tan$\delta$, at low temperature the peak of the tan$\delta$, at low temperature the peak of the tan$\delta$ shifts accordingly to the increasement of irradiation dose towards the high temperature region.

  • Thermally stimulated currents of polymers have some properties as radiation dosimetry, especially polymer could be made as a good dosimeter in biological fields because of tissue equivalent material. We experimented the radiation response of polymers and attempted to apply it in clinical use. Polymers have the properties of thermoluminescence and thermally stimulated currents which are due to several kinds of charged particles such as dipoles, electronic trapped charges and mobile ions. Several peaks are datected in the thermally stimulated currents in polyethylene under vias field V, by heating from room temperature to $100^{\circ}C$ shortly after irradiation. As V increases, both the peak temperature $T_m$ and the activation energy H decreases, while the peak current $I_m$ increases. We plotted the $T_m-V\;and\;I_m-V$ curves and calculated the electron trap depth with the recombination operative TSC theory and compared the peak TSC with radiation doses.

  • We theoretically investigated the far-field radiation pattern of epi-signal from a polystyrene sphere in coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering (CARS) microscopy with an objective lens of high numerical aperture. We calculated the field distribution of the incident laser beams under the tight-focusing condition and the far-field radiation pattern through coherent addition of radiation from the nonlinear polarizations (Hertzian dipoles) as the origin of CARS signal generation. The epi-radiation patterns for polystyrene spheres of different diameters are calculated, and the pattern of a sphere is also compared with that of a shell fer a diameter of 1100 nm. We finally show how the radiation pattern of the polystyrene sphere changes as the center of the sphere shifts from the focus of the beam.

  • In this paper, Thermally Stimulated Current(TSC) spectrum has been measured in oriented polypropylene of thickness of $40{\mu}m$ which was irradiated by Ultraviolet Ray. As a result of the investigation, four peaks have been observed-two peaks ($A_1$, $A_2$) were appeared in low temperature region($-20{\sim}20^{\circ}C$) and other two peaks ($B_1$, $B_2$) in high temperature region($80{\sim}120^{\circ}C$). Among four peaks $A_1$ and $A_2$ have bee observed in detail. These peaks are shown to be created due to the polarization of diploes from the experimental results which were measured as a function forming voltage, forming time, collecting voltage and heating rate. As the increase of irradiated-time by Ultraviolet ray, the number of dipoles was increased.

  • A dipolar interlayer can cause dramatic changes in the device characteristics of organic field-effect transistors (OFETs) or photovoltaics. A shift in the threshold voltage, for example, has been observed in an OFET where the organic semiconductor active layer is deposited on SiO2 modified with a dipolar monolayer. Dipolar molecules can similarly be used to change the current-voltage characteristics of organic-inorganic heterojunctions. We have conducted a series of experiments in which different molecular linkages are placed between a pentacene thin film and a silicon substrate. Interface modifications with different linkages allow us to predict and examine the nature of tunneling through pentacene on modified Si surfaces with different dipole moment. The molecular-scale structure and the tunneling properties of pentacene thin films on modified Si (001) with nitrobenzene and styrene were examined using scanning tunneling spectroscopy. Electronic interfaces using organic surface dipoles can be used to control the band lineups of a semiconductor at organic/inorganic interfaces. Our results can provide insights into the charge transport characteristics of organic thin films at electronic interfaces.

  • In this paper, we have measured the power of the electro-magnetic waves in the cabin of automobiles with automatic transmission or manual transmission. Measured frequency ranges are $815\~865MHz\;and\;900\~950MHz$. Experimental studies are conducted by measuring the radiated power of the frequency spectrum for above frequency bands. The $\lambda/2$ dipoles used for measurement are fabricated to comply with the COMMISSION DIRECTIVE 95/54/EC. Experimental results confirm that the level of radiated power in the cabin of automobile with automatic transmission is higher than that with manual transmission. The measured values are less than -85dBm for the manual transmission vehicles, but more than -79dBm for the automatic transmission vehicles.

  • All the plants on earth live under an electric and magnetic field because the earth is a magnet and there is an electric field between the charged cloud and the ground. It has been reported that electromagnetic fields influence both the activation of ions and polarization of dipoles in living cells of seeds and plants, though the mechanism of these actions is still poorly understood. In this paper, the effects of the electric and magnetic fields and exposure times to the germination of several vegetable seeds and its early growth have been investigated experimentally to find out the feasibility of a plant factory for mass production of clean and unpolluted vegetables. The germination rate and the growth rate of some seeds under the fields exposed were analysed and compared with those of unexposed ones. It is found that the germination rate and its early growth rate of exposed seeds under the fields were accelerated about 1.1-1.4 and 1.7-2.2 times in maximum compared with those of unexposed ones. But, however, an inhibitory effect on germination and plant early growth were shown in the case of the higher electric and magnetic fields.

  • A high-resolution transmission electron microscopy study on the lattice defects formed in the high energy P ion implanted silicon was carried out on an atomic level. Results show that Lomer dislocations, 60$^{\circ}$perfect dislocations, 60$^{\circ}$ dislocation dipole and extrinsic stacking fault formed in the near Rp of as-implanted specimen. In the annelaed specimens, interstitial Frank loops, 60$^{\circ}$perfect disolations, 60$^{\circ}$dislocation dipoles, stacking faults, precipitates, perfect dislocation loops and <112> rodlike defects existed exclusively near in the Rp with various annealing temperature and time. From these results, it is concluded that extended secondary defects as well as the point defect clusters could be formed without annealing. Even at low temperature annealing such as 55$0^{\circ}C$, small interstitial Frank loops could be formed and precipitates were also formed by $700^{\circ}C$ annealing. The defect band annealed at 100$0^{\circ}C$ for 1 hr could be divided into two regions depending on the distribution of the secondary defects.

  • Herein the motion of a freely-floating sphere in a water of finite depth is analysed within the framework of a linear potential theory. A velocity potential describing fluid motion is generated by distributing pulsating sources and dipoles on the immersed surface of the sphere, without introducing an inner flow model. The potential becomes the solution of an integral equation of Fredholm's second type. In the light of the vertical axisymmetry of the flow, surface integrals reduce to line integrals, which are approximated by summation of the products of the integrand and the length of segments along the contour. Following this computational scheme the diffraction potential and the radiation potential are determined from the same algorithm of solving a set of simultaneous linear equations. Upon knowing values of the potentials hydrodynamic forces such as added mass, hydrodynamic damping and wave exciting forces are evaluated by the integrating pressure over the immersed surface of the sphere. It is found in the case of finite water depth that the hydrodynamic forces are much different from the corresponding ones in deep water. Accordingly motion response of the sphere in a water of finite depth displays a particular behavior both in a amplitude and phase.
