면외 변형률 분포의 비선형성을 고려한 RC 기둥의 2차원 해석에 관한 연구 (2-dimensional analytical method of RC column considering nonlinearity of strain distribution in out-of-plane direction)

  • The columns with large widths in out-of-plane direction fail showing the high nonlinearity of strain distribution. In order to predict the nonlinear behavior with reasonable accuracy in 2 dimensional analysis the material models taking this characteristic into account are indispensible. In this study equivalent softening model is developed which releases the same amount of energy at failure as that of 3-D analysis. Its validity is confirmed by comparing the analysis result with that of 3-D.

  • Requirements of a benchmarking for rapid prototyping systems and process usually include manufacturing time, cost (including system price), and dimensional accuracy. This paper deals with a benchmarking comparisons to investigate the functional requirements of RP system. A special designed IMS_T2 test part with dimensional. geometrical, and surface roughness features has been used in the inspection of RP processes. IMS_T2 test part was built on 5 commercially available RP machines which are relatively new model in Korea.

  • Reconstruction of the radial two-dimensional of fission products using projections obtained by nondestructive transversal direction gamma scanning was evaluated, and then compared with the destructive sectional gamma scanning results. Although the nondestructive method has a little drawback compared to the destructive method in the accuracy, the former seemed to be sufficiently applicable.

  • A new three-dimensional transition solid elements was presented for the automated three-dimensional adaptive h-refinement where the steep stress gradient exists. To be consistent with 8-node solid element with nonconforming modes in accuracy, these transition elements were improved through the addition of the associated nonconforming modes. Numerical examples show that the performance of the element and the applicability to 3D adaptations are satisfactory.

  • For fast capacitance computation, a simple mesh refinement technique on MLFMA(Multi-Level Fast Multipole Algorithm) is proposed The triangular meshes are refined mainly in the area which has heavy charge density. The technique is applied to the capacitance extraction of three dimensional conductors. The results show good convergence with comparable accuracy. An adaptive technique concerned with MLFMA is useful to reduce computation time and the number of elements without additional computational efforts in large three dimensional problems.

An efficient three-dimensional fluid hyper-element for dynamic analysis of concrete arch dams

  • The accurate dynamic analysis of concrete arch dams relies heavily on employing a three-dimensional semi-infinite fluid element. The usual method for calculating the impedance matrix of this fluid hyper-element is dependent on the solution of a complex eigen-value problem for each frequency. In the present study, an efficient procedure is proposed which simplifies this procedure amazingly, and results in great computational time saving. Moreover, the accuracy of this technique is examined thoroughly and it is concluded that efficient procedure is incredibly accurate under all practical conditions.

  • Multi-detector row CT (MDCT) provides faster speed, longer coverage in conjunction with thin slices, improved spatial resolution, and ability to produce high quality muliplanar and three-dimensional (3D) images. MDCT has revolutionized the non-invasive evaluation of the central airways. Simultaneous display of axial, multiplanar, and 3D images raises precision and accuracy of the radiologic diagnosis of central airway disease. This article introduces central airway imaging with MDCT emphasizing on the emerging role of multiplanar and 3D reconstruction.

  • In this work, we investigate solving two-dimensional nonlinear Volterra integral equations of the first kind (2DNVIEF). Here we convert 2DNVIEF to the two-dimensional linear Volterra integral equations of the first kind (2DLVIEF) and then we solve it by using operational approach of the Tau method. But for solving the 2DLVIEF we convert it to an equivalent equation of the second kind and then by giving some theorems we formulate the operational Tau method with standard base for solving the equation of the second kind. Finally, some numerical examples are given to clarify the efficiency and accuracy of presented method.

  • 휠-레일 접촉해석의 정밀도는 휠과 레일의 접촉 위치 분석 방법 및 접촉력 계산 방법에 따라 결정된다. 휠과 레일의 형상을 2차원 곡선접촉으로 가정하여 휠-레일 접촉 위치를 찾는 방법은 계산시간이 짧은 장점이 있지만 3차원 곡면으로 가정한 경우에 비해 근사화된 해를 가지는 단점이 있다. 본 연구에서는 2차원 곡선접촉 해석에 기인한 방법과 3차원 곡면으로 가정한 방법에 대한 휠셋의 동특성 해석 결과을 비교하고자 한다. 곡선 주행시 휠셋 중심에 대해 요 각도 및 횡변위 등의 해석결과를 비교하고자 한다.
