  • The significant advances in information and communication technologies are changing the process of how information is accessed. The internet is a very important source of information and it influences the development of other media. Furthermore, the growth of digital content is a big problem for academic digital libraries, so that similar tools can be applied in this scope to provide users with access to the information. Given the importance of this, we have reviewed and analyzed several proposals that improve the processes of disseminating information in these university digital libraries and that promote access to information of interest. These proposals manage to adapt a user's access to information according to his or her needs and preferences. As seen in the literature one of the techniques with the best results, is the application of recommender systems. These are tools whose objective is to evaluate and filter the vast amount of digital information that is accessible online in order to help users in their processes of accessing information. In particular, we are focused on the analysis of the fuzzy linguistic recommender systems (i.e., recommender systems that use fuzzy linguistic modeling tools to manage the user's preferences and the uncertainty of the system in a qualitative way). Thus, in this work, we analyzed some proposals based on fuzzy linguistic recommender systems to help researchers, students, and teachers access resources of interest and thus, improve and complement the services provided by academic digital libraries.

  • Internet-based distribution of digital contents provides great opportunities for producers, distributors and consumers, but it may seriously threaten users' privacy. The Digital Rights Management (DRM) systems which one of the major issues, concern the protection of the ownership/copyright of digital content. However, the most recent DRM systems do not support the protection of the user's personal information. This paper examines the lack of privacy in DRM systems. We describe a privacy policy and user's privacy preferences model that protect each user's personal information from privacy violation by DRM systems. We allow DRM privacy agent to automatically negotiate between the DRM system policy and user's privacy preferences to be disclosed on behalf of the user. We propose an effective negotiation algorithm for the DRM system. Privacy rules are created following the negotiation process to control access of the user's personal information in the DRM system. The proposed privacy negotiation algorithm can be adapted appropriately to the existing DRM systems to solve the privacy problem effectively.

  • This paper presents the development of digital robust fuzzy controller for uncertain nonlinear systems. The proposed approach is based on the intelligent digital redesign(IDR) method with considering the relaxed stability condition of fuzzy control system. The term IDR in the concerned system is to convert an existing analog robust control into an equivalent digital counterpart in the sense of the state-matching. We shows that the IDR problem can be reduced to find the digital fuzzy gains minimizing the norm distance between the closed-loop states of the analog and digital robust control systems. Its constructive conditions are expressed as the linear matrix inequalities(LMIs) and thereby easily tractable by the convex optimization techniques. Based on the nonquadratic Lyapunov function, the robust stabilization conditions are given for the sampled-data fuzzy system, and hence less conservative. A numerical example, chaotic Lorentz system, is demonstrated to visualize the feasibility of the proposed methodology.

  • In this paper, we develop the intelligent digitally redesigned fuzzy controller for nonlinear systems. Takagi-Sugeno (TS) fuzzy model is used to model the nonlinear systems and a continuous-time fuzzy-model-based controller is designed based on the extended parallel-distributed-compensation(EPDC) method . The digital controllers are determined from existing analogue controllers. The proposed method provides an accurate and effective method for digital control of continuous-time nonlinear systems and enables us to efficiently implement a digital controller via the pre-determined continuous-time 75 fuzzy-model-based controller. We have applied the proposed method to the duffing forced oscillation system to show the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed method.

  • The development technique of digital logic using CMOS device is close reached several limitations These make technical needs that are ultra high speed superconductive systems based on CMOS silicon digital computing technique. Comparing digital logic based on silicon CMOS, the computing technique based on ultra high speed superconductive systems has many advantages which are ultra low power consumption, ultra high operation speed. etc. It is estimated that features like these increasingly improve the possibility of ultra low power and ultra superconductive systems. In this paper digital logics of current CMOS technique and RSFQ superconductive technique are compared with and analyzed.

  • The simulator models for 500MW fossil power plant have been developed, and interconnected with the turbine control system to test and validate the digital instrumentation & control (I&C) systems before they are implemented in operating power plants. When the performance of a selected digital I&C system is tested, the corresponding simulator model is replaced by the plant digital I&C systems which is considered as a non-tunable system. The input/out variables of simulator models and control systems were mapped using the LabView in interface systems. This paper describes the interconnection method between the simulator model and the digital I&C system, and summarizes the validation test results performed at the condition of steady-state operation, normal evolution, and malfunction. The integrated validation method of digital I&C systems using the simulator models showed that the simulator can be used as a test bed for the implementation of digital I&C systems in power plants.

  • It is not easy to control the unstructured digital contents efficiently which are usually created while carrying out the wide scope of managerial activities. Moreover, besides the existing EDMS method, new methodologies including new-type servers and clients like SBC, VDI, thin client, zero client, etc are said to be more efficient for managing digital contents. Usually, digital contents has been created and stored in the dispersed individual computers like laptop or desktop. Today, due to the advent of new technologies and devices for computer systems and network capacity, it's possible to store whole digital contents within centralized storage like EDMS. In this paper, it is shown how digital contents can be controled through selection of which approaches are used for individual users and storage servers. For alternatives, we explained implementation, merits and demerits, selection criteria, etc. And a case of the implementation of digital contents control is shown for the reference of related systems.

  • The wide spread of the Internet and personal computers does not only alter the form of content from analog to digital, but also lead to the emergence of a new digital media system that is different from analog media system. The digital media system is a convergent media that includes both public and private systems from the perspective of use-limitation, as well as storage and enjoyment systems from the perspective of use-purpose. The major goal of this research is to suggest and empirically verify an effective way of presenting the perception of places that are converged in the digital media system. Involvement and motivation are suggested as key conceptual factors and color contrast and hue are suggested as concrete design factors to make people perceive corresponding places. Results of our controlled experiment indicated that the color contrast and hue significantly affected the perception of place, and consequently, influenced usability of the digital media system. This paper ends with implications that can be used to construct appropriate perception of places for the media system of digital products.

  • To Increase availability and to enhance the safety, the modernization of Instrumentation & Control (I&C) systems is considered. The extended use of the digital technology lets nuclear power plants(NPPs) to replace their old analog systems with some proven digital systems. To adapt digital equipment to plants effectively and systematically, however, there must be an essential prerequisite, which is to evaluate current I&C equipment. This paper shows a practical methodology to evaluate the current status and reliability of I&C systems of NPPs using Reliability Evaluation System(RES) before performing upgrades or replacements for systems. The proposed method was applied to KORI Unit 2. The proposed method shows the current status of operating I&C systems effectively for upgrading I&C systems.

  • Living cells generate the cell cycle or apoptosis, depending on the course will be repeated. If an error occurs during this period of life in order to maintain the cells in the peripheral cells find the error portion. These cellular functions were applied to the system to simulate the circuit. Circuit implementation of the present study was constructed the redundant structure in order to found the error quickly. Self-repairing of digital systems as an advanced form of fault-tolerance has been increasingly receiving attention according as digital systems have been more and more complex and speed-up especially for urgent systems or those working on extreme environments such as deep sea and outer space. Simulating the process of cell differentiation algorithm was confirmed by the FPGA on the counter circuit. If an error occurs on the circuit where the error was quickly locate and repair. In this paper, we propose a novel self-repair architecture for fast and robust fault-recovery that can easily apply to real, complex digital systems. These Self-Repairing Algorithms make it possible for the application digital systems to be alive even though in very noisy and extreme environments.
