Color Domain 및 Gamma Correction 적용에 따른 Retinex 기반 영상개선 알고리즘의 효과 분석 (Performance Analysis of Retinex-based Image Enhancement According to Color Domain and Gamma Correction Adaptation)

  • Retinex-based image enhancement is a technique that utilizes the property that the human visual characteristics are sensitive to the difference from the surrounding pixel value rather than the pixel value itself. These Retinex-based algorithms show different characteristics of the improved image depending on the applied color space or gamma correction. In this paper, we set eight different experimental conditions according to the application of color space and gamma correction, and analyze the objective and subjective performance of each Retinex based image enhancement algorithm and apply it to the implementation of Retinex based algorithm. In the case of gamma correction, quantitative low entropy images and low contrast images are obtained. The application of Retinex technique in HSI color space rather than RGB color space is found to be high in overall subjective image quality as well as maintaining color.

현대건축의 색채구조를 적용한 공간해석에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Space interpretation by Application of Color Structure in Contemporary Architecture)

  • Contemporary architecture pursues new method of Interpretation of Non-linear space as digital media appears. As various materials and new methods can be used due to developments in science and expansion of thinking, contemporary architectural color developed extensive possibilities. It means not only the change of drawings, method of architectural product and materials but also the change of value system for architectural space. Thus the purpose of this paper is to suggest interpretation of space applied by color structure, and this point of view was based on the three elements of color perception which are light source, reflector, and observer. According to this categorization, architectural color of exterior color, layer color and interaction color are explained via examples of colors recently used on the contemporary architectures. In summary, contemporary architecture can be explained by Non-construction space interpretation for intrinsic complex meanings. Therefore, it can be explained as moving space, collage, by picturesque space, moving blur color and emptiness of color. This pursues various point of views for space interpretation, therefore it can be developed to the identity of strengthening architectures' design concept.

괴테의 『색채론』 관점에서 본 디지털 공간색채 연구 (Digital spatial color study from the perspective of Goethe's color theory)

  • 본 연구는 괴테의 색채이론을 바탕으로 디지털 공간에서 감각적, 정서적, 경험적 색채를 공간색채로 정의하기 위한 목적으로 개념 및 분류 방법을 다음의 연구 방법을 통하여 제시하였다. 첫째, 이론적 고찰을 통해 공간색채 개념을 정의하고, 공간색채 분류로 표면색채, 테두리색채, 물리 색채 3가지로 유형화하였다. 둘째, 디지털 공간의 특성과 색채 시스템을 고찰하였다. 셋째, 앞선 이론적 고찰을 통해 유형화된 공간색채와 디지털 공간의 특성 및 색채 감각유형을 바탕으로 디지털 공간색채 4가지를 테크노 색채, 센스 색채, 픽셀 색채, 블러 색채로 도출하고 유형화하여 제시하였다. 이와 같은 연구 내용을 바탕으로 본 연구는 괴테의 색채론이 현시대에 갖는 의미를 디지털 공간색채를 통해 체계화하였다는 데 의의가 있다.

문화유산의 현색(顯色) 기록화를 위한 디지털 색재현 연구 (A Study on Digital Color Reproduction for Recording Color Appearance of Cultural Heritage)

  • 문화유산의 현색(顯色)은 제작기법 해석, 보존처리 활용, 상태 모니터링의 중요한 기초 자료이다. 이 연구에서는 권응수 초상을 대상으로 디지털 색관리시스템 기반 색재현 과정을 체계적으로 정립하고, 문화유산 기록 및 보존에 적합한 현색 활용방안을 제안하였다. 전체적인 색재현 과정은 촬영 환경 세팅, 색기준차트 측정, 디지털 사진 촬영, 색보정, 색공간 설정 순으로 진행되었다. 연구 결과, 사진기 제조사 프로파일이 적용된 디지털 이미지는 현색과 비교하여 평균 𝜟10.1의 색차를 보인 반면, 디지털 색재현 이미지는 평균 𝜟1.1의 색차를 보여 현색과 거의 유사한 것을 알 수 있다. 이 결과는 디지털 사진 촬영 환경과 조건을 최적화했더라도 디지털 사진기 제조사의 보정 알고리즘에 의존할 경우 대상 문화유산의 현색 기록에 어려움이 있는 것을 의미한다. 따라서 문화유산은 RAW 이미지 기반의 색보정 및 색공간 설정을 통해 디지털 색재현이 필요하며, 이는 현색 기록화를 위해 매우 중요한 과정이다. 또한 디지털 색재현을 통한 현색 기록은 문화유산의 보존상태 평가와 보존처리 및 복원의 중요한 기초자료가 될 수 있으며, 퇴색 및 변색 현상의 모니터링을 위한 기준 데이터로 활용성이 높을 것으로 판단된다.

Human Sensibility Ergonomics Investigation of Car Navigation System Digital Map Color Structure

  • Two experiments were conducted to examine the relationships between the color structure and the user preference of a CNS (Car Navigation System) digital map in terms of HSE (Human Sensibility Ergonomics). In the first experiment, the user's preference of color structures were investigated from the subjects' self-designed digital maps using a CNS digital map UIMS (User Interface Management System): in the second, statistical relation models between the user's color structure satisfaction level and the color components of CIE (Commission Internationale de ι'Eclairage) of the real products were suggested. For each experiment, CIE L*u*v* and CIE LCH color space were adapted, respectively, because they have their own characteristics of perceptual uniformity which enables the color components to transform a linear function.

올라퍼 엘리아슨의 작품에 나타난 블러 색채 특성 연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of Blur Color in Olafur Eliasson's Works)

  • This thesis has purpose of explaining that blur color is not only appreciated but also undecided spacial color in contemporary space design and examining effects of space experience through the light. In keeping such developments, blur color has been perceived as the object of another tool in contemporary space and has provided us with new views by providing various program, sensor and screen from digital media. With the expansion of blur color, light has changed a spacial color structural that is not simple meaning factor into the essential concept. So this research aims to understand the principle of blur color in Olafur Eliasson's work, which of the fine artist in diverse fields from installation art to media art. The principle of blur color such as deconstruction of vanishing point, dimensional transfer, color gradation, and fiction of visual perception makes it possible to extract the expressed element and method of blur color. Meanwhile, the features of blur color such as sense of depth from viewpoint changes, hybrid from collapse of order, media metamorphosis from reconstitution and interaction from uncanny can be inferred from case analysis.

CIE L*a*b* 칼라 공간의 성분 영상 a*을 이용한 효과적인 여드름 검출 (Effective Acne Detection using Component Image a* of CIE L*a*b* Color Space)

  • 오늘날 현대인들은 피부 관리를 신체적 건강관리의 일환으로 인식하고 있으며, 일반적으로 얼굴에서 발견되는 피부 질환 문제는 여드름이다. 본 논문에서는 CIE $L^*a^*b^*$ 칼라 공간을 이용한 효과적인 여드름 검출 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 성분 영상$a^*$의 값이 양수일 경우에 적색이므로 피부 영상에서 적색 계통의 여드름 검출에 적합하다. 먼저 RGB 칼라 공간 기반의 피부 영상은 칼라 밸런싱을 통해 광 보상을 수행하고, CIE $L^*a^*b^*$ 칼라 공간으로 변환한다. 추출된 성분 영상 $a^*$을 정규화하고, 임계값 처리를 통해 피부 영역과 여드름 영역을 추정하였다. 실험 결과, 제안하는 방법이 기존의 밝기 정보를 이용한 방법보다 효과적으로 여드름을 검출하였고, 반사되는 광원에 강인함을 보였다.

교정 인쇄 장치에서 디지털 이미지의 색변환 적용에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Color Conversion Application of Digital Image in Proof Printer Device)

  • Generally, if RGB image is sent to the printer when we print a digital photograph, the printer will convert RGB to CMYK by the inner built-in drive. Because the difference between color domain of RGB and CMYK will cause that change and difference. The most common way to solve the problem is to convert colors by using ICC profile at RIP software or to adapt automatic color converting from the software of the original printer. So we intended to study show which way is most efficient to the digital output and which color mode device is the best based on the printer's own drive in this paper. we tried to observe and check the extended range of color space such as AdobeRGB as well as CMYK and sRGB. Then we made sure which is the suitable color space. Besides, When we convert RGB mode into CMYK mode by utilizing RIP software and adapt the printer's ICC profile made by our selves, we evaluated the output we get and compared the result with extended RGB image. The results are as follows. In case of RGB mode, the printer requests RGB, and that makes the color space more efficient than CMYK's. Converted to CMYK by utilizing RIP software, the chroma is more linearized than the one produced with its' own driver. Compared with sRGB mode's color gamut, AdobeRGB mode's color gamut and CMYK mode's color, CMYK mode's color gamut is the smallest among 3 of them. CMYK mode's color gamut by utilizing RIP software can be changeable. that can be small and narrow or wide and broad. In other words, the volume of color gamut depends on how CMYK is linearized. The color space of sRGB is more advantageous than the one of AdobeRGB in color-reproduction printed. But in the group $-b^*$, the chroma leaves behind in terms of reproduction, In the group of $-a^*$, the chroma is excellent relatively. Visual evaluation of the image, AdobeRGB image has not many reproduction colors. Specially, according to printers' characteristics, Group B of AdobeRGB and sRGB color space is a long way behind In terms of reproduction but Group Y is excellent relatively.

  • This study shows that digital technology is adapted practical method in fashion design process and virtual simulation and cyber fashion gallery based on virtual reality are researched. This study is proposed the 3D fashion design simulation in the virtual space used on 3D studio max, poser, photoshop program according to fashion design process. The main design concept is "temporary bridge" from rainbow. This study is supposed six fashion design in accordance with three sub-theme under main concept by changing color and texture used on 3D simulation. The results of this study are as follows: 1. This study produced Cyber Fashion Gallery in virtual space to the form of CD Rom title and web title by Macromedia Director 8.5, Macromedia Flash, Sound Forge. And it is enlarged the field of expression in aspect of Fashion Exhibition, beyond restriction of time and space. 2. Clothes modelling tools is able to easily adapt to various textiles and patterns in 3D dynamic virtual mannequin before making clothes. Digital technology is able to express image changed color and texture, especially new material, multi-finishing material and brilliant material and so on. So this study is able to develop tools for study of fashion coordination. 3. Cyber Fashion Gallery consists of gallery, story, painting, symbolism, example, image, quit. This study is enlarged the range of clothing expression by digital technology and open to possibility customized-manufacture.

차량용 블랙박스 영상을 이용한 주간 신호등 탐지 및 인식 시스템 (Traffic Lights Detection and Recognition System Using Black-Box Images)

  • In this paper, we propose a traffic light detection and recognition (TLDR) algorithm in the daytime. The proposed algorithm utilizes the color and shape information for the TLDR. At first, a traffic light is detected and recognized based on its shape information. Then, the color range of the detected traffic light is investigated in HSV color space. The input data of the proposed TLDR algorithm is the color image captured using the black box camera during driving. Our simulations demonstrate that the proposed algorithm can achieve a high detection and recognition performance for the images including traffic lights.
