  • In this paper a new approach of digitalized ‘Takbon’ is introduced. By image signal processing, the letters which were written on stones can be deciphered. Epigraphic letter is detected by digital image device, digital camera. The two dimensional digital image is preprocessed because of sensor noise and detective turbulence. Color image is transformed into grey level. The letter image is analyzed in time/frequency domain. By the resultant analysis data decisive functions are calculated. Signal Processing techniques, such as scaling, clipping, digital negative, high/low filter, morphology and so on, provide algorithms that can extract letter from stones.

  • The z-transform method is a basic mathematical tool in analyzing and designing digital signal processing systems for discrete input and output signals. There are may cases where the output signal is in the form of a discrete convolution sum of an input function and a designed digital processing algorithm function. It is well known that the z-transform of the convolution sum becomes the product of the two z-transforms of the input function and the digital processing function, whose proofs require the causality of the digital signal processing function in the almost all the available references. However, not all of the convolution sum functions are based on the causality. Many digital signal processing systems such as image processing system may depend not on the time information but on the spatial information, which has nothing to do with causality requirement. Thus, the application of the causality-based z-transform theorem on the convolution sum cannot be used without difficulty in this case. This paper proves the z-transform theorem on the discrete convolution sum without causality requirement, and make it possible for the theorem to be used in analysis and desing for any cases.

  • In this paper, as a compatible software radio transmission system, Digital-Radio conversion system which can directly change the digital signal generated by the logic circuit into radio signal is proposed. By the vector synthesis method, the digital signals can change directly into radio signal. If such a circuit is realized, RF circuit and an antenna can be composed by the simple one device, and the radio is directly controlled and performed by the software processing which is the essence of software radio. This Digital-Radio conversion system of this paper give many number of communication channels being offered by PN code and offer a hardware design flexibility by digitization, therefore it decrease the percentage ratio of hardware of system and give a more flexible function of software basis. In this paper, the principle of digital to radio signal generation algorithm is explained and the performance characteristics of proposed algorithm is shown in time base by the computer simulation method.

  • In this paper, we implement the system for speech processing to provide the subscribers who are using the telephone network with better speech services. We develop the specified board which is processing speech signal and devise the system which carries out storing and replaying the speech signal under the condition that one master board controls multiple DSP(Digital Signal Processing) boards using VME bus. We use CPU30 board as a maste board and develop SPM(Signal Processing Module) board as a DSP board and then evaluate performance of the system.

  • In this paper, Analyzed the multi-channel signal processing algorithms for digital-transponder. To analyze suitable multi-channel signal processing algorithms, compare algorithms about four criteria. Four criteria are as follows, perfect reconstruction, interference rejection, resource usage and power consumption. Analysis for each algorithm in accordance with these four criteria. then propose the multi-channel signal processing algorithms for digital satellite communication system.

  • In this paper we propose Digital Signal Processing (DSP) techniques for the Equalization Digital On-Channel Repeater(EDOCR) in the ATSC digital TV (DTV) System. DSP techniques consist of demodulation. baseband equalization, and remodulation. Since the time delay caused by signal processing in the EDOCR can seriously affect the performance of ATSC legacy receivers, it is required that the processing time should be minimized as much as possible. To achieve this goal, we focus on the reduction of the EDOCR's time delay with the minimization of its performance degradation. In addition, we present recommended proper parameters for hardware implementation based on extensive simulation result.

  • This paper analyzes the detection probability of FMCW (Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave) radar based on Doppler frequency and analog-digital converter bit and designs and implements signal processing part of FMCW radar. For performance evaluation, the FMCW radar system consists of a transmitted part and a received part and uses AWGN channel. The system model is verified through analysis and simulation. Frequency offset occurs in the received part caused by the mismatching between the received signal and the reference signal. In case of Doppler frequency less than about 38KHz, performance degradation of detection does not occur in FMCW radar with 75cm resolution The analog-digital converter needs at least 6 bit in order not to degrade the detection probability. And, we design and implement digital signal processing part based on DDS chip of digital transmitted signal generator for FMCW radar.

  • Start The current paper proposes an improved HD(High Definition) monitor that can support a signal input with various resolutions. Due to the inadequate performance of the built-in digital PLL(Phase-locked Loop) of an ADC(Analog to Digital Converter) and poor tolerance of ADC ICs, there are problems in the stable processing of synchronization signals with various input signals. Accordingly, the proposed synchronization signal optimization technique regenerates the horizontal synchronization signal in the vertical blanking interval based on the regularity of the synchronization signal, i.e. the timing of the falling edge signal remains constant, thereby solving the above problem and minimizing the interference of the system. As a result, the proposed system can stabilize various synchronization signals with different resolution modes.

  • This paper discusses the development of a reactive power controller using digital signal processing. Digital Signal Processing is the technique of using digital devices to Process continuous signals or data, often in real-time. And DSP algorithms are associated with a discrete time interval between input samples. When one designs a digital filter, one can use a Laplace transform to determine the continuous time frequency response. The corresponding discrete time transform is called Z transform and depends upon discrete samples of the input spaced equally in time. The objectives of this paper are to minimize real power losses and improve the power factor of a given system. Also, the implementation of a direct-form non recursive filter on the TMS320C31 has been described. The application of this microprocessor-based controller using DSP on test system reveals its numerous advantages. Performance and features of the controller for the reactive power control are analyzed.
