  • DRM(Digital Right Management)은 디지털 컨텐츠의 불법유통과 복제를 방지하고, 적법한 사용자만이 컨텐츠를 사용케 하며, 과금서비스 등을 통하여 디지털 컨텐츠의 저작권을 관리하는 기술이다. 현재 많은 DRM 시스템이 개발되고 있고 관련 표준화 또한 활발히 진행 중이다. 본 논문에서는 DRM 표준인 MPEG-21 IPMP(Intellectual Property Management and Protection)를 고려하여 구현한 DRM기반 유통 시스템에 관한 설명과 IPMP 표준화 현황 및 이슈에 대해 기술한다.

Design and Evaluation of DRM Model with Strong Security Based on Smart Card (스마트카드 기반의 강한 보안을 갖는 DRM 모델의 설계 및 평가)

  • Recently, digital rights management (DRM) related researches are widely spreading with prosperity of IT industries. The DRM technology protects proprietor of copyright by preventing mischanneling and illegal copy. In this paper, we propose a new DRM model that has an enhanced and efficient protocol based on certificate using smart card. The proposed model overcomes weaknesses of WCDRM model and has following additional advantages: first, copy protection is enhanced by hiding user's specific information from attacker by storing the information within smart card; second, server load for contents encryption is reduced by making clear protocols among author, distributer, certificate authority, and users; third, offline user authentication is guaranteed by combining partial secret values in media players and smart card. Exposure of core information also is minimized by storing them in smart card. In addition, we show that the proposed system is more secure than WCDRM model by comparing various factors of anonymous attackers.

Design of DRM System for Contents Redistribution in Home Domain (홈 도메인에서의 콘텐츠 재배포를 위한 DRM 시스템 설계)

  • In this paper, we proposed the DRM(Digital Rights Management) system that allows to redistribute contents safely based on home domain. This DRM system for contents redistribution within home domain can solve the restriction and the inconvenience occuring in using contents and at the same time protect the right of contents producer and provider as well. To play contents using home digital device, we must build home domain for contents redistribution among devices. That is to say, devices that are registered with home domain can redistribute contents to other devices at same domain. The domain must send redistribution-specifics to DRM server, so that user can pay reasonable amount for using the contents. Futhermore, by restricting within domain the right of contents redistribution, one can strictly prohibit the illegal redistribution.

  • Recently, the studies of contents protection technique are getting popular in the field of internet DRM(Digital Right Management). But, authentication process of digital contents is different from each implementation. Also, protection technique for the contents rights intrusion adapts each other methodologies. We survey the modeling and system of DRM such as DOI, INDECS, MPEG-21, XrML, and OPIMA standard in this paper.

  • This study proposes a DRM system for VOD streaming services in a mobile environment. The proposed system consists of DRM client manager (Consumer), in which core components for client services are independently constructed to be used in a mobile environment, and DRM server, which provides DRM services. Consumer independently exists in the client to maximize efficiency and processing capacity in such a mobile environment, and consists of license service, content service, access service, and tracking service. DRM server consists of streaming server for VOD streaming, distributor, license server, and provider. The proposed system has an architecture suitable for a mobile environment that is difficult to process in the existing DRM system and can solves the super-distribution using license manager in client manager.

  • Rights process problem was stated among actors that participated in digital contents distribution while it was various type of digital content service. In order to solve it, It was expressed conceptual and technical elements by reflecting a system. Among them, the interoperability of metadata became a important issue. As for the metadata for contents service, necessity about standardization is stated as a basic framework composing a service system. This paper proposed the metadata element which focus on the rights process that is being a key factor of a DRM(Digital Right Management) system for digital comics contents service. Therefore, it was verified by using Context Model of MPEG-21 RDD with interoperability between metadata elements which developed a XML format and the existing MPEG-21 RDD elements.   • IT 기술의 발달로 문서의 제작, 관리, 유통, 복사 등이 점차 간단하며 쉬워지고 있다. 또한 네트워크의 발달, 저장매체의 발달로 인해 문서의 불법 복제, 무단 유출, 불법 유통 등도 함께 쉬워지고 있다. 따라서 각종 문서에 대한 보안의 중요성이 부각되기 시작하였다. 이 중 DRM(Digital Right Management)이란 기술이 가장 널리 알려졌으며, 가장 많이 사용되게 되었다. 따라서 많은 DRM 제품이 출시 되었지만 각각 다른 문서 DRM의 경우 어떤 기준없이 개발되어 하나의 PC에서 동작할 수 없는 문제점이 발생하게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 디지털 문서의 대표적인 형태인 Compound Document File Format의 Header를 수정하고, 각 문서 DRM에 고유 식별번호를 부여하여 이와 같은 문제점을 해결하는 방안에 대해 제안하고자 한다.

  • In this paper, we proposed the interoperable DRM(Digital Rights Management) system that allows to redistribute contents safely based on home domain. We tried to solve the problem about contents redistribution between devices under different DRM regime so that we suggested a interoperable DRM system that allow end users to redistribute contents within home domain can solve the restriction and the inconvenience occuring in using contents and at the same time protect the right of contents producer and provider as well. In order that end users can use freely their contents using home digital device without additional payment, we must build a home domain for interoperable DRM system for contents redistribution among devices. If both of exporting device and importing device are authenticated in home domain by HADM(Home Authorized Domain Manager), then the exporting device can redistribute packaged contents under importing DRM regime to the importing device by DIM(DRM Interoperability Manager).

  • There are lots of limits on preventing illegal transaction of digital contents by existing DRM(Digital Right Management) methods because of illegal download and share of contents, which is resulted from advanced information technologies, development of cloud services, and smart instruments. In the other hand, the number of creators based on one person, in the area of music, webtoon, digital magazine and video, is increasing. As a result, it is needed that the necessities of digital contents transaction under the condition of convenience and efficiency through licence and management of contents to protect copyright of contents and to increase the transaction of digital contents. Therefore how to promote the transaction of digital contents should be studied by way of research analysis of contents market through interviewing experts in business.

  • 무선 인터넷의 보급과 맞물려 모바일 컴퓨팅 환경이 구축됨에 따라 PDA와 같은 소형의 모바일 장비에 최적화된 디지털 컨텐츠의 제작 및 배포가 활발해지고 있으며 불법적인 디지털 컨텐츠의 이용 또한 이에 비례하고 있다. 그러나 유선환경에 기반 한 기존의 DRM 시스템은 상대적으로 속도와 표현능력이 떨어지는 모바일 환경에는 적합하지 않으며 현재 연구.개발된 모바일 환경에서의 DRM 시스템은 음악, 문서, 이미지에 국한되어 있어 동영상과 암호화와 같은 높은 연산 능력을 요구하는 부분의 개발과 연구는 초기 단계에 머물러 있다. 본 논문에서는 모바일 환경에 적합하도록 적은 연산 능력으로도 기존의 DRM 시스템에 준하는 보안 강도를 갖을 수 있도록 동영상의 부분 암호화 방식과 공유키 풀 기반의 인증 방법을 사용하는 DRM 시스템을 설계ㆍ제안한다.
