  • Digital signage is becoming part of daily life across a wide range of visual advertisements segments market used in stations, hotels, retail stores, hotels, etc. The current digital signage system used in market is generally works on limited user interactivity with static contents. In this paper, a new approach is proposed using computer vision based dynamic audience adaptive cost-effective digital signage system. The proposed design uses the Camera attached Raspberry Pi Open source platform to employ the real-time audience interaction using computer vision algorithms to extract facial features of the audience. The real-time facial features are extracted using Haar Cascade algorithm which are used for audience gender specific rendering of dynamic digital signage content. The audience facial characterization using Haar Cascade is evaluated on the FERET database with 95% accuracy for gender classification. The proposed system, developed and evaluated with male and female audiences in real-life environments camera embedded raspberry pi with good level of accuracy.

  • IPTV current service change from a TV IPTV service providing digital broadcast, one- way VOD service, terrestrial broadcast to a web IPTV service, which is using wireless networks which is also used by interactive digital broadcasting However, IPTV, is being currently serviced, causes a lot of interaction with viewers because of inconvenience of using and has problems that users do not have enough content type to access. Additionally, there is also a problem that adding contents cover a large part of screen. To solve these problems, the thing that adding QR code to IPTV screen being recognized by Smartphone. In this way, we can provide the idea how to access to interaction information and also provide to clients an easy way creating and accessing to the contents by developing an editor that can insert QR code to video.

  • This paper describes design and implementation of the DIDL(Digital Item Declaration Language) parser and Session mobility in Digital Item Adaptation. The DIDL is a declaration language which is a uniform and flexible abstraction and interoperable schema for declaring Digital Items. Session mobility specifies a mechanism to preserve a user's current state of interaction with a Digital Item. In this paper, Session mobility is implemented through the DIDL. For session mobility, the XDI (context digital item) shall capture the configuration-state of a Content digital item, shich is defined by the state of Selection elements in DIDL.

  • In this paper, we propose a cultural heritage mobile augmented reality application that allows visitors to experience artifacts by augmenting prototypes, audio, video, and text information of 3D graphic artifacts of museum cultural assets. By applying augmented reality technology to a cultural product, products can be recognized on mobile phones and various historical information can be received through interaction of digital artifacts, and information can be easily and quickly checked through augmented reality mobile digital contents regardless of time and place. Through this study, we contribute to the development of digital cultural contents via mobile augmented reality and the expansion of augmented reality contents according to the types of cultural heritage for use, such as education, industry, and tourism promotion.

  • Current changes in the written language curriculum have lead to emphasis being placed on the process involved in writing rather than the product. Writing is being viewed as a means of exploration, with text being manipulated in revision until a clear message is conveyed. This study focuses on the use of the computer in written language, as a tool to facilitate learning, increase interaction and alter children's attitudes. Some children from a local primary school participated in a project which gave them access to a computer and guidance during the process of revision. Evaluation of this study showed a two-fold effect. Firstly the writing behaviors of the children developed with their increased involvement in the process. For example, the children began to read what they had written thereby independently evaluating the content. Secondly, arising from this, as a sense of control over their writing was gained the children's attitudes towards writing became more positive.

  • As interactive digital signages with computer network have been increasingly popular in public space, the needs for studying content types and interactions suitable for the digital signages are emerging. In this study, we aim to find out what contents are preferred to share and how to interact in the digital signage installed in Seoul subway stations. We conduct a case study, a survey, and an in-depth interview. In the case study, we collect content types which have been communicated in public space. Among these content types, we conduct a survey to find out the preferred contents of Seoul citizens. We observe that the preferred contents differ by the age of the citizens. Specifically, 20's prefer the subjects about personal interests, 40's choose public interests and 30's prefer both types. In addition, we observe that the subjects about personal interest are relatively less preferred when people read, whereas the subjects are preferred when people write. Lastly, regarding interaction type, we find that Seoul citizens prefer touching the screen directly to using smart phone to express their empathy. The contents that people write and the number of likes will be archived as big data and analyzed so that Seoul city officers and citizens will know what people think based on age, location, and subjects.

  • The tourism industry and AR act as important factors to diversify the tourism industry by combining them with one another. Currently, the advent of mobile smartphones and AR interactive is expected to play a major role in improving tourists' experiences and promoting tourism. AR's high entertainment characteristics, realism and strong interaction can be actively used as a major advantage in promoting tourism. This paper presents some appropriate examples of how AR interactive design is used in tourism marketing through various use cases where AR interactive design is used in tourism. Furthermore, a detailed analysis of the Magical Gulangyu verifies the descriptions listed in the text and presents the direction of future research.

  • Due to recent increase of product placement(aka. PPL) in TV drama and entertainment program, the audience of these programs is exposed to the advertisement in the form of the props and backgrounds without discernment. Advancement in digital data broadcasting technology enabled advertisers to insert detailed information of the product or associated advertisement link into the content of the broadcast program as an interactive advertisement. With the interactive advertisement, the audience can focus on the content of the program and the advertiser can create an advertisement with a rich content through the interaction between the advertisement and the audience. It is possible because the interactive advertisement is dynamic advertisement behavior only activated by the audience's intention. In this research, we develop a Hot-spot generator to insert interactive advertisement in the DMB broadcast program. We also suggest dynamic Hot-spot generation technique that allows the Hot-spot object to follow not only the shape of the advertising object in the program, but also the movement of the object as the program progresses.

  • Virtual reality seems to be the center of the next generation platform, which is founded on various engines that can easily make device progress and content. However, the interaction between virtual reality contents and users is thought of as relatively requiring technological advances. In this paper, we propose a technique to improve the interaction technique based on the case of Virtual Figure Model Crafting (VFMC) to analyze the problem of interaction caused by virtual reality contents. We introduced the concept of Head-Up Display (HUD) to present a more natural interaction method. The HUD is the digital visual interface of the aircraft. The advantage of HUD visual interface is to minimizes the user's visual movement by displaying the information of the scattered view to the forward direction of the pilot. In other words, we can reduce unnecessary left and right movements that make it is possible to expect an effect of reducing fatigue and increasing immersion.
