User Interaction Library for Natural Science Education Digital App-Book on Android Platform (안드로이드 기반 자연과학 교육용 디지털 앱북 개발을 위한 사용자 상호작용 라이브러리)

  • The digital app-book is an advanced form of the electronic book (e-book), which attracts a lot of interests by the help of video, sound, sensors and a variety of interactions. As mobile devices have evolved, the demand of digital app-books is also rising substantially. However, the distribution of digital app-book contents is hard to meet the demand because the digital app-book requires a lot of programming cost for the interaction. To resolve this problem, Was verified and implementation as a library function of the interaction between device and user. The proposed library consists of three parts (user action recognition, device action, and content action) and provides various user-device interaction functions by combining methods of each part, which can support source code reusability, easy understanding and availability, and wide expandibility. The library was used in the development of natural science education app-book contents. As a result, it could reduce a lot of code lines and facilitate more rapid app-book development.

  • is an innovative creation, accommodating characteristics of various genres and media, ranging from elements of media aesthetics to visual aesthetics and games. Although it takes a form of a book, it exceeds stereotypes seen in paperbacks or eBooks. Because of such differentiated characteristics of this appBook (which is provided in the form of app), it induce users(readers) to conduct interactional activity. This study will mainly discuss about the formation of discourse of app based digital novel in a media aesthetic point of view. Considering the mutual relation between property of media and contents of stories, it is desirable to accommodate the mutuality of understanding between the digital media and formation discourse in creating stories.

  • Recently, traditional books based on printing on the paper have expanded to e-book media in smart device because of developing digital technology. Especially, app book applied application makes users' experience increase and provides immersion to them, because it allows them basically delivering information, educational effect and fun elements with multimedia technology. There are various experimental trials to make enhance effect of reformatting for application media. The purpose of this study is to analyze reformatting effect for app book with funology which is convergence of digital technology and a fun. Then this article would provide design guide and be applied to new application contents. For this research, the first of all, we would discuss concept and elements of funology by publication including thesis, articles, and books. Secondly, this article will be focused on 'Moo, Baa, La La La!' which is reformatting application for iPad to analyze type of funology. Thirdly, we would make sure that app book makes users get emotional effect comparing original book by FGI(Focus Group Interview). In conclusion, sensitive funology used the sound allows user emotional effect and they prefer to intuitive and immediate motion and response of interactive funology. In other way, funology of fun in itself which is strong concept in original book diminishes in app book. Then users concentrate interactive factors like game structure. This results make that app books could be created by strength of original contents and advantage of funology. Therefore this makes us expect the possibility of reformatting effect with funology and we need to discuss the points of issue that there are considerations and limitations to successful app book for users.

Introduction of a VOD Mobile App for Promoting VOD Service of a Domestic Digital Cable Broadcasting (국내 디지털케이블 방송사의 VOD 서비스 활성화를 위한 VOD 모바일 앱 개발 사례)

  • As the subscribers of the digital cable and IPTV broadcasting are increasing, the VOD service has established a solid foothold as a profit model of the broadcasting industries. And what's more, the VOD service is emerging as a key application of the N-screen technologies. In the circumstance, broadcasting companies are trying to provide mobile services to improve the satisfaction of their VOD services usage. The paper introduces a VOD mobile app (of a domestic digital cable broadcasting), which includes the functions of promoting the VOD programs printed on a VOD guide book, directly transmitting the information (e.g., book-marking, remote-control signals) generated by the VOD mobile app to a set-top box, and watching the video contents stored in the mobile device on TV.

  • The flourishing China mobile e-book App market has caused a series of problems, for which enhancing the user experience become an urgent matter. As a whole, user experience is related to the five planes such as the device, platform, medium, form and content. However, to understand the user needs is the logical starting point of the whole process. Contextual interview has been conducted in this study, while four types of tasks such as discovering and accessing a target e-book, setting and experiencing the reading interface, listening to the e-book and reviewing and sharing were asked to perform during the process, which has resulted in relevant problems and unpleasant factors in user experience. Based on the aforementioned contents, guidelines for enhancing the user experience of China mobile e-book App has been summarized as a result.

Design and Implementation of local advertising application(App) through SNS service analysis (SNS(Facebook) 서비스 분석을 통한 지역광고 어플(App) 설계 및 구현)

  • In this paper, we had tried to study advertising method of local industry in cooperation with SNS (Social Network Service). In particular, This paper analyzes the Facebook Page trying to find a way to take advantage of the local advertising. To analyse the Facebook page, I had created three Facebook pages such as at Hongik UNIV., Gangwon National UNIV., and specialities in Cuncheon cities. While I was managing the three pages, I had analyzed the results of quantities of activities, and in addition, had used NodeXL for the analysis of the network for the each page. After the analysis of the data of each page, I had found the possibility of the promotion for the successful the local advertizement associated with SNS. To verify and develop the results of my study, I had designed the " real time local advertising APP which is connected with SNS like Facebook, had created server program based on PHP, Android APP. In the future, I have found that there must be a lot of possibilities for the successful and various the local advertising methodologies by using SNS like Facebook, the operational data of the App.

  • As e-books have been becoming common, the market for digital textbooks also has been expected to grow rapidly. In this paper, we introduce our experience of developing interactive e-books with Unity3D, and the result of user's experiment of using the books. The e-books are targeted to the lower grades in elementary schools, and they are a series of a fairy tale story with educational information on flat tide. They support rich user interactions such as dragging and clicking objects and rich media including 3D animations, videos, pictures, and augmented reality. We separate educational information from the main story in order to meet some incompatible issues among story, education, and user interaction. We conducted user experiments with twenty four 4th grade students and 95.8% (23 from 24) of them liked the e-books. They also thought the e-books would help them study about flat tide and sea creatures in there.

  • It is the concept of this paper to build up the convergence type of the total class service system, and the goal is to develop the education services, which are differentiated from existing digital textbooks and development tools. We establish developmental programs and convergence strategies from market analyses related to apps and digital education. Then this paper proposes 'E-Class Author Service System (ECA)' as an education service system based on the tablet PC. It is the convergence system of the app type of textbook development tool and class management system. Teachers can produce and develop class materials and textbooks using the app type of textbook development tool in ECA service system. They can also add necessary functions from the class management system for efficient class progress. ECA improves the interaction and communication between a teacher, student and parents in the sever-based network. This study expects that ECA will achieve prior occupation of the app market as an educational app development tool and reduce private education expenses.

  • The purpose of this study are as follows. First, to analyze digital convergence level of convergence generation to demographic variables. Second, the convergence level to digital device and using frequency to digital service. Third, the convergence level to digital service and using frequency to digital service. The research methods FGI, the interview with IT expert group and survey. The results of research are as follows. First, 30 aging, expert group, higher education group over graduate school are actively using and participated. Second, high level of convergence device are smart-phone, tablet PC, net-book are in order. high level of convergence service are SNS service, twitter, uee, portal messenger and app store, e-Book, web hard are in order. Third, The convergence generation enjoying app-store of smartphone, wireless game and more participating facebook/cyworld twitter, Portal, internet community.
