In this case, powerfulness quorum of destruction side which we have expected are supposed general limit value for rock floor when retaining of earth on the section of rock floor in the urban area. For digging in the urban area, there are a lot of dislocations to be disadvantage for safety of digging ants. The displacement of the pondside didn't converged with the phase of the excavation. Also, the speed of displacement got higher than the percentages of risk in the construction. So, we put into operation Face mapping for checking special quality of dislocations which appear on the digging ants. This results were used to decide a destruction in the case of the final excavation by analyzing with other results. It was possible to know the unstable distribution of a fault line in Face Mapping and to get powerful lens of a surface of discontinuity by tests indoors and outdoors. The results were also used to make a solution. Therefore, It's a successful example using the Partial TopDown for stable digging. And it is important that Face Mapping have to be practiced for solving the uncertainty of ground organization when digging design in the urban city.
This study was carried out to investigate the optimum operating conditions of the air injection type onion peeling device which could be attached to a prototype onion peeler. An onion, stem and root was cut and some vertical line was dug in 1 mm depth on the skin, was put on the two parallel rollers. The diameters of the rollers were 105 mm and the ratio of peripheral velocity was 3:2, and moved by a geared motor. Air from the nozzle with high pressure and velocity was jetted to the rotating onion on the revolving rollers, and then the skin of the onion was stripped. On the test, the rolling characteristics of the experimental materials were measured. The effective peeling conditions were, the number of digging line on the skin of the onion was 4, and the air jet pressure was above 392.3 kPa(4.0 kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$) when the peripheral velocity was at 2.4 m/s. On these conditions, time requirement to peel an onion was less than 2 sec.
According to the last 5 year statistics of KGS, there occurred 22 under ground gas pipe accidents per year in Korea. And about 5 accidents per year were caused from the third party digging. IT recognition technique could reduce such underground gas accidents. Among IT recognition technique, RFID is most poplar. In the air, RFID were applied to various fields including the distribution industry, but underground condition, the research and application cases of RFID were little This research was undertaken to see the applicability of RFID to underground gas pipe safety. By use of 900 MHz RFID reader and commercial metal tag, the stable recognition distance was measured in the similar underground condition of LNG pipe. Stable recognition depth of RFID tag were measured to be 50, 45, 25 cm in the medium of soil, 5 cm-thick-concrete+soil, and water respectively. The measured distances were considered to be the meaningful distance to prevent the gas pipe accidents Also the efficient ways to input the required gas pipe data to the 24 byte metal tag were proposed. Application of RFID to underground LNG supply system will not only reduce the gas accidents due to third party digging but also improve the gas line maintenance efficiency.

This study was conducted to develop a handy earth auger for use in sloppy and rugged forest terrains in order to reduce labor cost which comprises a major part of the production costs in forest afforestation projects. The first prototype is developed consist of two parts, the soil-digging screw and the battery power source. The specifications of the first prototype screw are: length of 170mm, a top diameter of 60mm, bottom diameter of 47mm, 23° angle for each helix, and a 50mm awl-head tip. The use of a single line of screw was selected for reduced weight. In addition, a power source of rotary DC Motor(WD-6G2425, WONILL, Korea) with a maximum torque of 30kgf-cm, rotation of 20-30rpm, K6G30C decelerator with a reduction ratio of 30:1 which could be used with no load for 48 was operated. In consideration of its weight, a lithium battery was utilized in line with the goal of developing a lightweight auger. In order to evaluate the performance of the first prototype, test sites were selected as 6 areas. The rotational force was found to be highest in area A(Solid area), followed by areas F(Mounted slope 40° area) and E(Mounted slope 30° area). It was also observed that in general, the rotational force increased along with the increase in soil depth with the maximum rotational force recorded at 10cm.

In this paper, in order to exclude the expansion of M/W relay frequency or its new frequency assignment possibly, we analyzed a possibility of substituting M/W system by B-WLL or optical fiber network regarding service quality and economical points. To define the target of service quality, pre-condition and analysis method for the selected media have been derived to compare each other. E1 transmission with BER 10$^{-1}$ was chosen as a reference capacity, and service distance was calculated f3r the selected media as a function of availability. Also from the economical point we considered 3 systems such as optical fiber, M/W, and B-WLL based upon basic system structure, and analyzed them for various line configurations of fiber optic and B-WLL according to service period, system capacity, transmission distance, and data rate. It was confirmed that B-WLL can provide quality of service with 99.999 % availability within 1.6 km cell radius, and for optical fiber substitution, the leased fiber conduit on an electric pole is more economical than M/W system irrespective of service period, but in case of directly digging for underground conduit, it turned out ineffective regardless of cabling duct types.

Shield TBM, since it was employed for Suyoungman Bay riverbed tunnel of Busan Subway in 2000,has been increasingly adopted in Korea, and in line with growing popularity, the study on Shield TBM has been expanded. However the studies mostly focus on ground condition in a bid to estimate the advancement rate and develop the model for calculating the excavation efficiency, whereas the efforts to analyze the cause of delay and to develop the improvement measures have been neglected. Thus the studies were mostly intended to analyze the schedule slippage focusing on ground conditions, while the study on schedule behind due to equipment itself and related facilities have yet to be attempted in earnest. This study hence was aimed at evaluating the troubles and schedule slippage caused by mechanical elements such as shield TBM equipment and tools and ground conditions, making use of FMEA approach so as to analyze the risk of schedule delay by such elements, thereby proposing the preventive measures to deal with high-risk factors. So, this study suggest the solution to highly ranked trouble factor for the purpose of enhance the efficiency on Shield TBM.

A moat is a pond or waterway paved on the outside of a fortress that is one of the facilities to prevent enemy from approaching the fortress wall or classify it as the boundary space, and this study was undertaken to find out the characteristics of the moat that was existed in the East and the West from ancient time to medieval time with the following result. First, the moat in the East was installed of natural moat and artificial moat at the same time while the moat in the West had the fortress built in naturally advantageous site to use natural most substantially more. Second, the moats of Korea were smaller in scale compared to other countries (Japan, China and the Western countries). Third, the fortresses in the East were built to protect towns or royal palace while the West had the fortress to protect the residence of kings, lords, great wealthy persons and the like, and they were used jointly with the natural moat and artificial moat to defend against the infiltration of enemy. Fourth, the Pungsujiri in the Orient is one of the numerous ideologies forming the supplementary ideologic system of Korean people that could not be denied as the perception that influences on Korean people after the Silla Dynasty, and this Pungsujiri was considered when determining the location of the castle. The moat surrounding the castle had the role to keep the good energy in the castle from escaping away. Fifth, the Ha-Ha technique in the west was designed to prevent the external power from infiltration by digging the ditch on the place applicable to the boundary of the garden site, rather than the fence. While walking around along the water-side path without knowing the existence of this ditch, when the road is discovered with the cut off in the ditch, people had the exclamation without actually recognizing such astonishment. It was originally the dike for military purpose during the medieval time that was designed to look into the garden without physical boundary surrounded with the vertical fence in the garden that by having the deep ditch like shape on the boundary line of the garden which was designed to form the farm by preventing various types of cattle from coming inside the garden and bring in the garden element for farms, forestry, agricultural land and the like.
