  • This study selected three different specified concrete strength types of mixture which were applied to domestic seawater concrete structure and measured compressive strength and chloride diffusion coefficient and composed the formula of prediction model of chloride diffusion coefficient in order to provide the useful data for concrete mix decision of seawater structures. As a result, the formula of prediction model of chloride diffusion coefficient which set W/C and compressive strength as parameters and performed multiplex regression analysis which was based on the mathematical theory was confirmed more reliable than the formula of prediction which was composed existing water-cement ratio function.

  • This work is an attempt to design a dynamic model for a non local bio-thermoelastic medium with diffusion. The system of governing equations are formulated in terms of displacement vector field, chemical potential and the tissue temperature in the context of non local dual phase lag (NL DPL) theories of heat conduction and mass diffusion. Based on this considered model, we study the fundamental solution and propagation of plane harmonic waves in tissues. In order to analyze the behavior of the NL DPL model, we construct basic theorem in the terms of elementary function which determine the existence of three longitudinal and one transverse wave. The effects of various parameters on the characteristics of waves i.e., phase velocity and attenuation coefficients are elaborated by plotting various figures of physical quantities in the later part of the paper.

  • This paper studies the effect of the relaxation time on a two-dimensional thermoelastic medium which has a doubly porous structure in the presence of diffusion and gravity. The normal mode analysis is used to obtain the analytic expressions of the physical quantities, which we take the solution form in the exponential image. We have discussed a homogeneous thermoelastic half-space with double porosity with the effect of diffusion and gravity. The equations of generalized thermoelastic material with double porosity structure with one relaxation time have been developed. Moreover, the expressions of many physical quantities are explained. The general solutions, under specific boundary conditions of the problem, were found in some detail. In addition, numerical results are computed.

  • The purpose of this paper is to depict the effect of rotation and initial stress on a magneto-thermoelastic medium with diffusion. The problem discussed within memory-dependent derivative in the context of the three-phase-lag model (3PHL), Green-Naghdi theory of type III (G-N III) and Lord and Shulman theory (L-S). Analytical expressions of the considered variables are obtained by using Laplace-Fourier transforms technique. Numerical results for the field quantities given in the physical domain and illustrated graphically in the absence and presence of a magnetic field, initial stress as well as the rotation. The differences in variable thermal conductivity are also presented at different parameter of thermal conductivity. The numerical results of the field variables are presented graphically to discuss the effect of various parameters of interest. Some special cases are also deduced from the present investigation.

  • When oil spills occur in the ocean because of a ship collision or grounding, the oil in the sea will spread to the coastline. To effectively and promptly prevent such an oil spread, the prediction of the direction and speed of the spreading oil must be made. By applying the coastal wave diffusion theory with a consideration of the effects of wind and current, the oil spreading direction and speed can be predicted promptly so that the National Disaster Prevention System can effectively and promptly take countermeasures against the attack and contamination of the coastline by such oil bands.

  • This article covers the fundamentals of percolation phenomenon giving emphasis to the percolation concept involved in disordered electrochemical systems. After a brief discourse on the basic concepts of percolation theory, the geometrical properties and fractality of percolation clusters were presented. Then, anomalous behaviours of diffusion in percolation clusters were explained in terms of the fractal structures of the infinite percolation clusters. Finally, the conductivity-related properties of composite ionic materials were shortly discussed on the basis of percolation theory from practical points of view.

  • This study investigated what factors affect consumers' decision making concerning the adoption of smart TVs. For this purpose, the integrated adoption model that consists of six major constructs from the diffusion of innovation theory (DIT), the technology acceptance model (TAM), and the model of innovation resistance(MIR) was employed. To collect data, an online survey was used. Data collected were analyzed with the structural equation model (SEM). Findings showed that the innovativeness has a positive influence on the both of perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. It was also shown that both of perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use affect the intention to use smart TVs in a positive way. The innovation resistance has a negative influence on the intention to use. The mediating role of the innovation resistance was also found. The implications of these results are discussed.

  • We report the theory of thin-sample Z -scan for materials, viz. diffusion-dominated photorefractives, having a nonlinearly induced phase that may be proportional to the spatial derivative of the intensity profile. The on-axis far-field intensity is approximately an even function of the scan distance on different positive and negative values for phase shift $\Delta$$\Phi$$_{o}$. In case of positive phase shift, the Z -scan graph shows a minimum and two maxima, while for the negative value, only one minimum is observed. The fact is that far-field beam profiles display beam distortion and shift of the peak as compared with Kerr-type or photovoltaic nonlinearities.s.

  • Recently, IPTV attracts great attention along with the digital convergence of communication and media technologies. This study examined critical factors on the consumer's continued use of the IPTV service. Based on the expectation-confirmation theory and the innovation diffusion theory, we derived nine key factors in the research model-relative advantage, compatibility, ease of use, image, diversity of contents, interactivity, monetary value, social influence, and user satisfaction. Using the partial least square method, we found that content diversity and compatibility have a significant indirect effect on the continued use of the IPTV service via user satisfaction, and user satisfaction and social influence also have a significant direct impact on the IPTV use. These findings not only provide practical insights on the consumer acceptance of new technology-converging services, but also help managers to plan their marketing strategies better.
