저 에너지 전자 회절 장치의 제작에 관한 연구 (The study on low energy electron diffraction (LEED) apparatus)

  • Angle Resolved Ultraviolet Photoemission Spectroscopy(ARUPS) 연구를 위한 표면 구조 확인과 표면 방향 결정을 위한 LEED를 제작하여 그 성능을 조사하였다. 컴퓨터 시뮬 레이션을 이용하여 제작에 필요한 요인들을 최적의 값으로 결정하였다. 제작된 LEED는 3Grid방식을 채택하였고 시료와 스크린 사이의 거리를 75mm, 투영 각도를 $80^{\circ}$로 하였다. 전자총은 TVgun을 사용하였고 이 Gun의 특성을 조사하였다. 완성된 LEED의 성능조사를 위하여 Si(001), $Al_2O_3$(0001)표면의 pattern을 분석하였다.

Zn Vacancy Ordering in $Ba (Zn_{1/3}Ta_{2/3})O_3$ Ceramics

  • New type of ordering along 1110] direction was found In BZT sintered at $1400^{\circ}C$ for 90 hours by using X-ray diffraction analysis and high resolution transmission electron microscopy. The wavelength of the modulated structure was 0.9 nm which is three times larger than the interplanar distance of (110) plane. New type of ordering is considered to be formed as a result of Zn vancacy ordering and new structural model was proposed. The computer simulated electron diffraction and the structural images are in good agreement with those obtained by experiments.

  • The method measuring the absolute position of a point diffraction source emitting a spherical wavefront in three-dimension is proposed. Two-dimensional interference of spherical wavefronts is used to overcome ambiguity of phase order. The spherical wavefront is explicated by Taylor series expansion, from which a radius of curvature of a spherical wavefront and its center position in three-dimension are obtainable. The spherical wavefront is reconstructed by a modified lateral shearing interferometer, which uses single-mode fiber as a point diffraction source.

원고리형 레이저광에 의한 근사 무회절 광의 발진 (Generation of non-diffraction beam with annular laser output beam)

  • Scraper 출력경을 이용하는 불안전 공진기형 Nd:YAG 레이저 발진기에서 고리 두께 0.145mm인 원고리형 레이저광을 얻었으며, 초점거리에 위치한 베셀렌즈를 통과시켜 근사 무회절 광을 얻었다. 초점거리 1 m의 렌즈를 이용하여 얻은 근사 무회절 광에 대해서 렌즈로부터 거리 z의 변화에 따른 출력세기를 측정하여 이론과 비교 ·분석하였다. 또한 초점거리 5m의 렌즈를 이용한 경우, 거리 33m의 지점에서도 근사 무회절광이 지속됨을 확인하였다

  • Up to now, many crack repair techniques have been developed for inhibiting crack growth in structural components. However, the simplest way for inhibiting crack growth is to apply a indentation at the crack tip or at some distance ahead of the expected crack growth path so as to produce residual compressive stresses that can reduce the effective stresses around the crack tip. In spite of its importance to the aerospace industry, little attention has been devoted to evaluation of the indentation residual stress effect on the fatigue crack initiation life quantitatively. Therefore, in the present work, the magnitude and distribution of the indentation residual stresses were investigated in order to estimate the beneficial effect on fatigue crack initiation by using finite element method. Furthermore, to examine the validity of finite element analysis results, residual stress distribution in the indented specimen was measured by using X-ray diffraction technique, and fatigue crack behavior at fastener hole in aluminum alloy 7075-T6 before and after indentation processes was investigated.

Visual perception of Fourier rainbow holographic display

  • The rainbow hologram provides views of reconstruction with rainbow color within a large viewing zone. In our recent paper, a Fourier rainbow holographic display using diffraction grating and a white-light LED source was introduced. In this technique, the rainbow effect is realized by the dispersion of white-light source on diffraction grating, while the slit is implemented numerically by reducing the demands of the space-bandwidth product of the display. This paper presents a novel analysis on the visual perception of the Fourier rainbow holographic display using Wigner distribution. The view-dependent appearance of the image, including multispectral field of view and viewing zone, is investigated considering the observer and the display parameters. The resolution of the holographic view is also investigated. For this, a new quantitative assessment for image blur is introduced using Wigner distribution analysis. The analysis is supported with numerical simulations and experimentally captured optical reconstructions for the holograms of the computer model and real object generated with different slit size, reconstruction distance, and different observation conditions.

단결정 다이아몬드의 연마특성(1)-각 결정면의 연마 이방성- (The lapping characteristics of single crystal diamond(1st report) -lapping anisotropy of the crystal planes-)

  • The lapping characteristics of single crystal diamond are studied by considering the crystallographic anisotropy. It is introduced for lapping method to identify crystallographic orientantion by the X-ray diffraction and to measure lapping force ratio, lapping temperature and lapping wear. Diamound bonded wheels are used for lapping under dry condition. On the lapping {110} and {100} planes, it shows remarkable crystallographic anistropy. The lapping force ratio, temperature and wear become gerater with sliding direction along the <100> than along <110>. The results also show that the wear of diamond is influenced by mechanical work(tangential lapping force * lapping distance) as well by lapping speed.

위상형 직선격자의 자체결상과 가시도 분석 (Self-imaging of a phase line grating and analysis of its visibility)

  • 위상형 직선격자에 가간섭 광원인 레이저 광을 조명하였을 때 이 격자가 렌즈없이 회절에 의하여 결상되는 자체결상 현상(또는 렌즈없는 결상)을 회절이론으로 해석하고 실험적으로 조사하였다. 위상형 격자의 위상분포가 강도분포로 바뀌면서 1:1 로 결상하는 자체결상거리( $Z_{T,a}$)를 진폭형 직선격자의 자체결상시 정의되는 자체결상거리 $z_{T,a}$를 이용하여(4n-3) $z_{T,a}$/4(n=양의 정수)와 같이 새로이 정의하였다. 실험적으로 $z_{T,p}$= $z_{T,a}$/4와 $z_{T,p}$=5 $z_{T,a}$/4에서 위상형 직선격자를 이용하여 자체결상거리에서 자체결상이 되는 것을 확인하였으며, $z_{T,p}$=3 $z_{T,a}$/4위치에서는 이 자체결상된 상의 위상이 반전되는 현상도 동시에 관찰하였다. 이러한 자체결상시 격자의 수에 따라 자체결상된 상의 가시도를 FFT(fast Fourier transform)로 처리하여 측정한 결과, 위상형 직선격자는 15 개 이상의 직선격자들로 구성되어야만 자체결상된 상의 가시도가 최대값 0.10 근처에서 일정하게 유지됨을 알 수 있었다.일정하게 유지됨을 알 수 있었다.

수렴성빔 전자회절법을 이용한 $SiO_2/Si$ 계면 부위의 격자 변형량 측정 (Measurements of Lattice Strain in $SiO_2/Si$ Interface Using Convergent Beam Electron Diffraction)

  • The oxidation of silicon wafers is an essential step in the fabrication of semiconductor devices. It is known to induce degradation of electrical properties and lattice strain of Si substrate from thermal oxidation process due to charged interface and thermal expansion mismatch from thermally grown SiO, film. In this study, convergent beam electron diffraction technique is employed to directly measure the lattice strains in Si(100) and $4^{\circ}$ - off Si(100) substrates with thermally grown oxide layer at $1200^{\circ}C$ for three hours. The ratios of {773}-{973}/{773}-{953} Higher Order Laue Zone lines were used at [012] zone axis orientation. Lattice parameters of the Si substrate as a function of distance from the interface were determined from the computer simulation of diffraction patterns. Correction value for the accelerating voltage was 0.2kV for the kinematic simulation of the [012]. HOLZ patterns. The change in the lattice strain profile before and after removal of oxide films revealed the magnitudes of intrinsic strain and thermal strain components. It was shown that $4^{\circ}$ -off Si(100) had much lower intrinsic strain as surface steps provide effective sinks for the free Si atoms produced during thermal oxidation. Thermal strain in the Si substrate was in compression very close to the interface and high concentration of Si interstitials appeared to modify the thermal expansion coefficient of Si.

Mo 및 Co계 분말의 용사조건에 따른 기계적 특성 변화 (Variation of Mechanical Properties with Powder Spraying Conditions in Mo and Co Alloy)

  • In general, the characteristics of plasma spray coating are strongly dependent on process conditions. In this paper, Mo and Co alloy coating layers were made by plasma spraying with different spray parameters and characterized using X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy(SEM), hardnass test, and wear test. It was found that the coating characteristics were mainly affected by phase composition of the powder, spray distance, arc current, and gas flow rate.
