식생(植生)이 비탈면의 안정(安定)에 미치는 영향 (Vegetation Influences on the Slope Stabilization)

  • 우리나라에서는 최근에 고도의 경제성장(經濟成長)으로 인(因)한 국토개발사업(國土開發事業)이 전국토(全國士)에서 시행(施行)되고 있다. 특(特)히 경부고속도로(京釜高速道路)를 비롯한 각종(各種) 고속도로(高速道路)의 건설(建設)과 산업기지(産業基地) 및 택지(宅地) 공장부지(工場敷地)의 조성공사(造成工事) 등으로 자연(自然)비탈면이 많이 파괴(破壞) 훼손(毁損)되었으므로 이를 복구(復舊) 녹화(綠化)하기 위한 녹화공법(綠化工法)으로서 주로 식생공법(植生工法)이 채용되고 있으나 절토(切土)나 성토공사(盛土工事)로 인하여 인위적(人爲的)으로 만들어진 인공(人工) 비탈면의 안정에 미치는 식생(植生)의 영향에 관한 문제가 아직 종합적으로 보고(報告)된 바 있다. 그러므로 본(本) 연구(硏究)에서는 우선 비탈면의 피해형태(被害形態)를 분석(分析)하고, 식생(植生)이 비탈면의 물 수지(收支)에 미치는 영향을 분석(分析)하였으며, 또 식생(植生)이 표면침식방지(表面浸蝕防止) 및 표층붕괴(表層崩壞)에 미치는 영향을 분석(分析)하였다.

A Study on the Optimum Machining Conditions and Energy Efficiency of a Laser-Assisted Fillet Milling

  • Laser-assisted machining (LAM) is known to be an effective and economical technique for improving the machinability of difficult-to-machine materials. In the LAM method, material is preheated using a laser heat source and then the preheated area is removed by following cutting tool. For laser-assisted turning (LAT), the configuration of the system is not complicated because laser irradiates from a fixed position. In contrast, laser-assisted milling (LAMill) system is not only complicated but also difficult to control because laser heat source must always move ahead of the cutting tool along a three dimensional (3D) tool path. LAMill is still early stage and cannot yet be used to machine finished products with 3D shapes. In this study, a laser-assisted fillet milling process was developed for machining 3D shapes. There are no prior studies combining fillet milling and LAMill. Laser-assisted fillet milling strategy was proposed, and effective depth of cut (EDOC) was obtained using thermal analysis. Experiments were designed using response surface method and cutting force prediction equations were developed using statistical analysis and regression analysis. The optimum machining conditions were also proposed, and energy efficiency of the LAMill was analyzed by comparing the specific cutting energy of conventional machining (CM) and LAMill.

  • Recently the applications of high speed machining are increasing due to the need for high performance and high accuracy machining and machining for difficult-to-cut material. However, the high speed machining also accompanies some problems: the product quality can be degraded due to the tool wear and the product cast can go up due to frequent tool replacements. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a technique of quantitative tool wear measurement to determine the precise timing for tool replacement. In this respect, this study suggests a reliable technique far the reduction of error components by developing a system using a CCD camera and an exclusive jig to be able to precisely measure the size of tool wear in flat end mill for high speed machining.

  • Polyacetal resin is usually used to make molds, but it is difficult to achieve dimension accuracy during molding. Therefore it is usually necessary to cut the polyacetal resin after a molding process. Polyacetal resin is easily machining by standard machine tool. Acetal is also a thermal stable material which can be totted without coolant Another concern about the use of polyacetal resin is that it absorbs water easily, which also results in problems with dimension accuracy Therefore, in this study, the cutting resistance of water-absorbed polyacetal resin and its surface roughness after cutting in order to achieve the highest degree of accuracy in the cutting of polyacetal resin were investigated. Also, The Robust Design method uses a mathematical tool called orthogonal arrays to study a large number of decision variables with a small number of experiments. It also uses a new measure of quality, called signal-to-noise (S/N) ratio, to predict the quality from the customer's perspective. Thus, we have taken Taguchi's parameter design approach, specifically orthogonal array, and determined the optimal levels of the selected variables through analysis of the experimental results using S/N ratio.

머시너블 세라믹스의 마이크로 홀 가공특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Micro Hole Drilling Characteristics of Machinable Ceramics)

  • Ceramics are very difficult-to-cut materials because of its high strength and hardness. Their machining mechanism is characterized by cracking and brittle fracture. In this paper, to give good machinability to the ceramics, BN powders are added to Si$_3$N$_4$ by volume of 20, 25 and 30%. And the machiniability of the produced ceramics are tested using micro drilling system. Through required experimental works, it is shown that the micro drilling machinability is varied along with the volumetric percentage of BN powders. Also, it is verified that the obtained results can be used to develop new machinable ceramics of good material properties and machinability.

  • The objectives of this research are to develop lumber and lower-thoracic pedicle fixation system for Korean patients. To achieve the aimed goals, first, optimized shape design process is performed, and finite element methods are applied to evaluate the mechanical strength of the developed fixation system. Second, appropriate machining experiments are carried out to develop optimum machining conditions for titan~um alloys those are known as one of the most difficult-to-cut material. As the results of this research, new pedicle screw system, considering the morphological characteristics of Korean patients, is developed by applying the finite element analysis, optimum shape processing method and optimize design algorithm.

  • As the machine tool industry progresses, the performance of cutting tools also needs to be of good quality and specialized. If the existing metal cutting tool tip is coated properly, its life would be longer and the machining of a difficult-to-cut material also could be possible. For the development of the high quality cutting tool, the applicabilities of TiAIN coating deposited by PVD on the cutting insert were experimentally investigated. The various measurements, such as, SEM micrograph, XRD pattern, AFM surface morphology, and hardness were performed to cross-check the possibility and availability of TiAIN coated tool in the field. The effects of it is successful and we hope to see good results in many fields.

마이크로 밀링 EDM 머신 개발 및 가공특성 분석 (Development of Micro Milling EDM and Analysis of Machined Characteristics)

  • Micromachining is gaining popularity due to recent advancements in MEMS(Micro Electro Mechanical Systems). Using conventional micromachining, it is relatively difficult to produce moving components in the order of microns. Photolithography for silicon material has high accuracy machining, but it has low aspect ratio. X-ray lithography has ultra high accuracy machining, but it has expensive cost. Micro-EDM(electro discharge machining) has been gaining popularity as a new alternative method to fabricate micro-structures. In this study, Micro-EDM machine is developed available for fabricate micro-structures and two processes such as side cut EDM and milling EDM is proposed. Several sets of experiment results have been performed to study the characteristics of the machining process.

열처리한 합금공구강의 절삭에서 공구파손의 특성 (Fracture Characteristics of Cutting Tools in Machining of Hardened Alloy Steel)

  • The fracture characteristics and tool life of ceramics and WC, CBN cutting tool when turning heat treated steel STD11($H_RC$ 60) were investigated experimentally to clarify the machinability and optimum tool materials in cutting of difficult-to-cut material with high hardness. Forthermore, the behaviors of the tool wear and failure were examined with regard to cutting force. The hardened steel wore the cutting tool edge rapidily and increased the cutting forces, especially radial force. The tool was worn by the abrasive action. Flank Weat of $Al_2O_3-TiC$ ceramic and WC tool become relatively large and CBN & $Al_2O_3$, ceramic tool had a long life among the tool materials tested. The tool fracture patterns were just like minor cutting wear, flank wear, crater wear, notch wear, chipping. Flank wear rate was accelerated by occurrence of chipping. During the proceeding of machining, it was possible to foresee the catastrophic fracture of tool by abrupt increase of radial force.
